Happy Easter
Happy Easter people! As a little Easter present, here's chapter 2 of my story. (Note: Sorry I couldn't get it up sooner. I was at my friend's ranch for a couple of days.)
CHAPTER TWO
“Risa! Risa!” Rena yelled running down the slope that lead to the river. “Look at all the pretty flowers I got!” Many small flowers were clenched in Rena’s hand.
“Oh, they’re so nice, Rena.” Risa exclaimed taking the flowers from Rena’s small hand. She turned her head and gazed at the rushing water that ran down the river. Her redish hair waved in the soft breeze as her sister plopped herself down beside her.
“Do you really think so?” Rena asked with a smile on her face. Her shorter hair shined in the sun as the sound of marching was heard in the distance. “Sis, do you hear that?”
“Yeah, I wonder what it could be.” Risa answered with wonderment. They both got up and ran up the slope and onto the dirt road in the village. They were amazed at what they saw.
Numerous soldiers wearing red armor were parading through the village, walking over many slain villagers. They carried gored spears and swords as they marched through the small town. Their armor gleamed in the light of the flaming houses, and they just kept marching, nonstop. Men were walking into houses, and from those houses came shrieks. At the head of the group, a boy no older than thirteen was leading them.
Risa stared in horror. She knew the boy. “H-Haku?” she stuttered. “He’s-he’s alive?” She caught site that the soldiers were headed straight for her. She grabbed her sister’s hand and began running towards the nearest building. Without being noticed, they slipped in the house.
A soldier passed in front of the door and was about to open it when Haku stopped him. “Go in with caution…” Haku told the soldier. “This is the town’s armory.”
“Will do sir.” the soldier exclaimed a little frightfully. The soldier opened the door and stared at the two sisters in there. He began to raise his spear when a quiet sniffling sound was heard. Rena began to cry very, very loudly.
“Agh!” Haku groaned covering his ears. “Make it stop! Just kill the girl already!”
“But, but sir! I…I…” the soldier trembled upon hearing Haku’s words. He looked at Rena and began to slowly walk towards the sisters. “I…I…”
“Argh!” Haku yelled. “If you won’t do it, then I will!” He shoved the soldier out of the way and drew his sword. He raised it high up in the air and brought it down.
Blood splattered on the wall as a “ngh” sound was heard. The sword was blocked in mid-air by Risa’s arm. The sword was stopped at her bone and Risa was starting to push Haku back. “I won’t let you, Haku.”
Haku was very surprised at this. He pulled his sword away and took a few steps backwards in shock. “How do know my name?” he asked frightfully. “Who are you?!”
“It’s me, Risa.” She said beginning to cry. She was growing very depressed since Haku didn’t remember her. “Don’t you remember me?”
Haku stared at her in agony. Flashbacks were going through his mind about the past he had once had, and he just couldn’t take it. He backed away from her.
Risa walked up to him and lightly hugged him. Tears were running down her eyes as she stood there, still. “Please, remember…” she said quietly.
