Speech Contest!
My brother is in speech and he is goin' on to state tomorrow. It's not really state, cuz only six uhhhh regions? are going, but that's what it's called. Anyway I'm going to watch him preform. We have to leave at five in the morning though. *sigh* Oh, well. I'll just get some sleep on the way. ^_^ .... Well, that's basically it for now. We return at about three in the afternoon. Whatever.

Yay!
I rented Kiki's Delevery Service today! ^_^ I asked if I could yesterday and momo said yes, but then when I wanted to go (after my homework was done) Father wouldn't let me. So I did it before I got home today. We live about 5 blocks away. ^_^ Heh heh. I love that movie. I hope it's still good. .... Well.....umm I was gonna talk about somethin'. ! Oh yeah! Mai's boyfriend, Will's, birthday- Tell ya later, supper time.

I had like ~four~ people ask me "Yougurt has DNA?" No! It doesn't and I don't know where you got it from. I didn't say it. I looked. I didn't. *sigh* I'm sorry. I shouldn't yell. Well, in a way, I guess you could say that it had DNA. I mean basically yogurt is just rotten milk. That's putting it in simpliest terms. It's more complicated. See, what makes it yogurt is the bacteria in it. They are really healthy for you though. They eat the bad bacteria in your colon or stomach or somethin' like that. Anyways..... About Mai. She's getting Will three plain boxers without any pattern on them or anything. She says they're gonna be "a girly color, pink, purple, baby blue if blue" and she is gonna have E-dono draw her penguins on one of them. One the next one she is gonna write "Will loves Maya" all over it. The last is gonna be autograph boxers. Doesn't that sound like the cutes thing ever? She's gonna give them to him for his 14th birthday (comein' up soon). She's even buyin' the boxers tonight. I think it's sooooo cute! ^_^ I would like to do that for Haruki, buuuuuuut I have a few obsticales to overcome to acheve that..... Well!

   Utter Confusion! Utter Confustion!!
*whines* I got- hey look! A cardnal! ^^ heh heh -a PM from some'ne Sunday, or 'least it ~said~ from Sunday, and it confused me to the ends of the earth! I wont say who it's from. But it was talking about biotechnology, which I am currently taking...but here is where the utter confusion comes in! See I don't remember telling anyone that I'm taking biotech. especialy not that person (no affence meant, it just never really came up I think) and I don't know how this person could've found out. I'm not trying to keep secrets or anything, it's just kinda like I was/am being stocked. *stops to think* .......... Nevermind. *scudles away to write PM* Okay...umm.....

I'm studying biotechnology in TAG, Plus, or more commonly, Mrs. Loescher’s class. TAG (pronounced the way it's spelled, none of that T.A.G. nonsense) stands for Talented And Gifted. They haven't called it that in a year or two, but it's still hanging out it the hallway.

It's a small classroom. We have *thinks* six square tables in the room (that's all that can fit), a projector, two lab top computers (both Mrs. Loescher's), two walls of cabinets, two spiny-computer chairs, a stool, a bookshelf-cart type thing, and a student teacher ratio of 19:1.

Out of the, ohhhh, two hundred or so eighth graders in our building, ~19~ are in this class. It usually stays the same; the same people are in it year after year. Once, you’re in, there’re only two ways to get out. 1) You drop the class, or 2) you’re asked to leave. No one that I know of has been asked to leave.

Last year, the year I joined, we studied Microbiology. We made yogurt! ^_^ And studied diseases, I did Mad Cow Disease. It was fun. Renee (friend) told the history of yogurt through song: Oh Baby, Baby. It, too, was fun. She choreographed too! We were going to perform it for Culture Fair, but it was canceled. That made me sooo mad.

This year we are studying Biotechnology. I think it’s gotten harder, but still fun. At the very beginning, we did some weird unit to find our learning style. I’m an Analytical. My runners up were Personal and Divergent, which are probably the most opposite of them all. Oh well.

Anyways, about the biotechnology. We were given absolute freedom. We just had to study a bit about cells as a group to learn and relearn what we forgot from last year and some more scientific names. We learned about DNA, how cells make a protein, the scientific name for everything, and last about cloning and gene splicing. I didn’t get gene splicing right away, but once it clicked, I understood.

Where “our true freedom” lies is in our topic in Biotech and our project. All we have is a criteria and resources. I chose Marine Biology cuz Haruki is big on it and I was curious why. I think I found out. It is really interesting. I’m doing a power point on sea turtles, over fishing, and pollution.

I didn't sleep for 12 hours, that's something
I fell asleep as soon as I hit the bed. I did watch Fruits Basket, and it was good. ^^ Better than I expected. Hee hee. I was gonna watch it again in Japanese, but momo made me go to bed, it ~was~ 12:30 after all. I started at 9. Long I guess. I ~love~ the theme and ending songs though! Infact, I like ~alll~ the music, it couldn't've been better. ^_^ Yaaaay! I'm gonna work on my homework some more, then I'm going to watch it again. Yaay! So see ya guys!

Dance tonight
I'm not going. I kinda want to, but Momo said no since I went to U-dono's house Tuesday and didn't call. So instead, I'm going to watch Fruits Basket. Katelyn just got it a while ago and she lent it to me. Or was it Mai? Whoever it was said that the DVD covered ...uhh I forget, but I've already read it... I don't really know if I want to read it or not. I have come to the conclusion that I like manga's better than anime, so if I like an anime, but not like obsesive liking, then I don't read the manga, but if I ~really~ like it, like Kenshin, then I do both. Other wise, I'm prob'ly not exposed to the anime. ... Anyway, so I dont' know if I should. I know I'll like it, but it will just disapoint me. *deep breath, in and out* Our group at school "claims" people that we like in a group anime/manga and it is law that you can only claim one person per anime/manga, first come, first serve. I'm a fugitive ^_^V (<-Kitsune face again). I claimed both Yuki, cuz I like him so much, and Momiji-kun cuz he's just so darn ~keeewte~! Yes, I find gender confusion cute. For me, who ~cares~ what someone's sexuality is? I mean it's like not liking someone cuz their of a different color than you. It's stupid and perdjudice! *fumes for while, but calms down* Okay, sorry, I gotta go. Bye!

Early out! Whooo hooo! ^^
Well, it is now 4:27, but we got out at 12:20. ^___^ (<-Kitsune face) Heh heh. I spent my afternoon so far: walked home, all 15 blocks (methinks), ate a granola bar, started math homework, read for about an hour, takled briefly to Katelyn (4-H related), and then called Renee to pass on the news and stayed on for about 15-20 minutes, then I'm here....wait, does that add all up? Hmp. Anyways, while I was walking home, it started to hail. It snowed last night, and just a few days ago it was in the 50's! This is so wrong. *sigh* And I've been as enviormentaly friendly as ever. And math class was fun. ^_^ Well. I think I might change my music now. Not that I don't totally love the Kate song that Oneesan put on for me, it's ~awsome!~ Oh and I finished yet another Tamora Pierce book, I have three left to finish and then this fall the last Circle (my favorite) book comes out. ^_^ I can't wait! Well, momo will be disapointed if I don't finish my homework, plus I have a band concert to preform in tonight so I better go, bye! ^_^

   Hey guys. *yawn*
Boy, I'm tiered. Yaaaawn and streeetch! Ah! That feels good. Well nothing really to report on....It was really warm yesterday (Sunday) and then got cold today. I don't like that at all. Frist off, it should not be 52 degrees in March. Today it was 28 degrees. Much better. Second, the trees get all screwed. See, it gets warm which tell the trees it spring and they start to bud and then it gets cold again and the buds freeze and then there is no fresh fruit in the summer and fall. *pouts* If it ~has~ to get warm this early, then it should stay warm. I don't like it when it does this. *yawns* Well, I gotta go, see ya! ^_^

   I had a great day today! ^___^
Or at least a great last 2 or so hours. ^_^ I'm really happy, with no appearnt reason......OOOOOOH! Yesterday, we had a show chior invitational in Ft. Madison. And our middle placed 3rd out of the five that competed....That's a lie.. We ~got~ third, but Thomas Jefferson and Marquette tied for first so really we got fourth. I wish could've seen more of the middle schools than what I did so I would know if we won by a lot or a little. If a little I think I would feel better. But our high school got first and went on to finals in the 3A division. If you aren't fimilar with the divisions, I will introduce you. There is 1A which is barely big enough to be a show chior, 2A which is a little bigger, 3A is a good sized group, and 4A is huge. There is also prep division which is like freshmen people and MS. In Motion, the name of our high school show chior, (we're Chain Reaction) got first runner up. ^_^ I'm proud. Also I just got back from a Explorer Post meeting. If you are really curious about the club, PM me, its' too much to explain now. Today we had a tour of the Harlen-Lincoln House. It has a really interesting history. It ties with Aberham Lincoln; his family; Cabinet Member Harlen (forgot his first name); who's daughter married Lincoln's son; and our own IWC (Iowa Wesleyan College). Very interesting. It's Pioneer Building is the oldest building west of the Mississippi River still in use as an educational building. Isn't that cool?! ^^ It makes me soo proud knowing all the history of what happened here, in my town. Not that I ~know~ it, but what the people that are famous here are famous ~for~. Licoln never visited here, but his children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren did. Historicaly wise, we could be a very famous town. Nothing that should be in a history text book, but at the same time, it should. Maybe if we were a little bigger. Iowan wise, our town is actually a size middle sized city, nationally, we are just a town, almost a small town. I think of it as a small town. It seems you can't live here 5 years without knowing half the population, it's prob'ly more like a quarter though. Our population ~is~ 9,000 people after all. As you can prob'ly tell, I'm very proud of my hometown. And I will forever love it. I'd hate to see it turn into a big city. It would ruin it. Well I should be going now, I still have some homework.
