I'm Overjoyed, Sore, and I Think My Feet Will Fall Off!
I was just at the most awesomest dance EVER!!! It's the second one I've ever been to, and this one is so much better than the sock hop! Every year student council hosts a tropical dance for the sixth graders. I don't know about last year, but this is my first out-of-school dance and it lasted from seven to nine. It took me about an hour to get ready and my Grandpa, who just got back from his month on a barge(he's the chief of engineering), brought me to school. when I got there the music was blaring on a song I didn't even know, there were very few people, and NO ONE WAS DANCING!
Well, as the night went on songs were played, ranging from the Marcarena, My Humps(I didn't know they could play that song anywhere near school! Many kids, including me to a lesser extent, danced REALLY dirtily to that song!), Honky-Tonk Shebonk-Shebonk, and the Chicken Song! So, by the end of the two straight hours of dancing I did my wedges were KILLING me and I had losy all hope of reconstructing my hairdo.
Mostly I danced with Cookie Jar, Flute Guy, Shorty and Atom Jazzman, Wyatt Erp, and Loudmouth Applesauce. We were a rebellious group, they only cluster who was dancing besides large, very bland and conformed one; and the only people in the gym who were really workin' it(also known as who weren't just moving arms and jumping). Of course, because we were original, people who were dancing in the matching groups and people who weren't dancing at ALL made fun of us. Jerks.
We were always up in front by the blaring sterios, mirrored disco balls, revolving colored lights disco balls, and teh occasional drifting dry ice. It was SOOOOOO unbelievably wonderful!
