Chapter Six
Chapter Six- Godly Problems and a Fourth Atlantien
A few weeks after we’d escaped from Exile…
I sat and poked at my stomach as I helped Shinjite prepare lunch.
Sekai rushed in, saw the two of us, and looked relieved.
“Hn?” Shinji and I said at the same time. “What’s wrong, Sekai-sama?”
He grabbed both of us by the arm and pulled us carefully to the door. “We have to get to a safe place. NOW.”
We followed, confused. He teleported, and we landed in front of a huge beautiful building. We ran up the steps leading to the Central Grounds Temple. Something was very, very wrong.
Sekai led us into the nearest room with a lock on it.
We were still confused.
“This is Central Grounds Temple. Hidoi cannot magically harm us here. The lock is for in case he tries to physically harm us.”
Shinji looked to me, afraid. “Hidoi is after me?”
Sekai nodded. “Now try to stay quiet.”
The three of us looked around and saw Shinri waiting in the room, asleep in the corner. We were in the Central Documents Room, where all original documents from every area are held.
Then we started exploring.
We found records on Sekai and Shinri, and everyone else we know. And then I pulled out mine.
I opened the scroll that held my life’s tale and all of the tales about it from prophets.
I scanned my family tree.
My mother’s side. Wait. She wasn’t a fullblood. She was half lightning, half wind. Like… Me?
My father’s side… Water?! But wait. He’s… An Atlantien?!
A picture of my father was placed beside his name.
“Sh-shinjite? What does your father look like?”
“Why, Taren?”
“I just need to know.”
She described him.
I dropped my scroll and promptly fainted.
Sekai caught me quickly, and Shinjite picked up my scroll.
“She… she really is my sister,” Shinjite said in shock. “They lived in Atlantis. Her mother had an affair with my father… They… had planned for her mother to run away from her father and they would come to live with us. Then her mother got pregnant. He kept promising and promising. The day before she died, he sent her a letter saying that he couldn’t legally marry her. Then Taren’s older sister… killed our father.”
I had woken up and was clinging to Shinjite for dear life. I was shocked.
And all this time, Shinri had found a scroll, and was punching out sections of wall to reveal all new magical weapons for the four of us. Sekai had a new sword. Shinri had a pair of daggers. Shinjite had a huge broadsword, bigger than her. But I had a three-piece sword. My sword had three pieces that locked together, and each had markings. The left, yellow. The right, dark blue. The middle, light blue. I had a sword for each hand, and one that could be controlled using my three elements.
But wait. Why could I not harness my water?
Shinjite said a prayer a few minutes later, and I squirted Shinri in the face with a blast from my hand. I began to giggle. “I suppose this will take more training, then, huh guys?”
We felt safe, but Hidoi was still lurking…
