Yes, (in answer to your question) I have Photoshop 6.0. What I do is hand-draw the illustration first, then import it into photoshop with my flatbed scanner. After making sure all the drawn lines are connected, I use painbucket to fill it in. (tip: I download screen captures of the characters and use the eyedropper tool to get the actual color for my drawings). After all the color is in, I use the burn tool for shadows, and the dodge tool for highlights. As a final touch, I go to filters and select 'blur more' to give everything a 'screen capture' feel. I'm still developing this process, but it seems to be working well. Thanks for the interest!
