Not much to say since it's 7:10 in the morning and no school yet. *sigh*
I'm gonna go ahead and post more of that story. So you all can read a bit more and hopefully comment. ^^
(ugh. I can't think of the title. I'll post it later today)
untitled story part 3
I stayed with them the rest of the night. Elliot and I discussed that they would leave with me before dawn. The sun’s rays have just breeched the edge of the horizon. We have traveled quite a long way since we left.
It’s just like before. Mimori sits on my shoulders and plays with my cat ears, but when someone comes by, she quickly puts my hat back on my head. Sometimes she plays with my hair as welll. Elliot carries most of our belongings.
It’s near sundown, and we’re about to stop for the night. Mimori fell asleep on my shoulders, and she had laid her head on mine. I could feel her fingering the ears under the hat as she slept. She stirred and woke up shortly. In a barely audible tone, she mumbled, “Yumi, don’t leave again. Okay?”
“I won’t, Mimori.”
“Promise?”
“Yeah. I promise?”
She fell asleep again. I laid her down by the fire Elliot had just made. This is when I knew we had to talk. Elliot had been quiet for most of the time. His face was serious and his eyes were stern
I sighed, “I know what you’re gonna say, and I’m sorry.”
“All I want to know is why you left. You left in the middle of the night, leaving no word that you left. Just an empty bed and a note that said ‘Bye. Love, Yumi.’ Why did you leave?”
“I got scared.”
“You know I’d protect you.”
“I was scared for you two. I was afraid they would hurt you if I stayed. But I was wrong. All my efforts to protect you guys have gone to waste,” tears began to well up in my eyes.
Suddenly, I felt strong arms embrace me. “Elliot.”
“Sister, do you know how much Mimori cried. She cried until she fell asleep. When she woke up, she cried again. Don’t hurt her again.”
I hugged him back, “I won’t. I promise.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Morning came. Mimori, the only morning person in the family, woke up at dawn and was trying her best to wake us up. She started on me. Just like a cat, my tail swished as I slept. She grabbed it, and she gave it a good yank. I jolted up like any normal cat would. On the other hand, Elliot was the hard sleeper. I was still half asleep while she held my tail and rubbed it on Elliot’s nose. He sneezed loudly and woke up.
Rubbing sleep from my eyes, I said, “I guess you’re happy I’m back.”
Mimori smiled and said, “Now I can wake up Elliot! He never got up when you were gone. So welcome back.” She laughed.
Elliot glared at my tail, “Yeah. Welcome back.”Again, Mimori sat on my shoulders, plating with my ears, as we walked to the next town.
I had recently been to this town. I liked it, but when I looked at it this time, it shocked me. The town was in complete ruin. The buildings had been turned to ash. The worst part of all, and what made me cover Mimori’s eyes when I saw it, was death. The charred remains of human bodies were pinned by spears to trees or buildings that were not burned. It was a horrid sight that made me vomit. Nearby was a forest that we quickly ran into. Again, I vomited.
While I knelt down after vomiting, Mimori held my arm around her. She must have seen it for a brief moment, because she was shaking all over. I held her close until the shaking stopped.
“Sister,” she said, “What happened to those people?”
“They were killed in a horrible way, Mimori,” I replied truthfully.
“It’s sickening! Who would do this?” Elliot exclaimed.
“It’s them. They’re looking for me,” I said quietly.
Mimori and Elliot looked at me in confusion, and they almost simultaneously asked, “Who?”
“It’s not important. What is important, is that we leave here immediately.”
We all agreed on the idea and fled the area quickly. We settled the night in a desolate plain that covered the area for miles. Mimori and Elliot were fast asleep. Elliot was resting his head on one of his sacks, while Mimori snuggled between her older brother’s arm and stomach. I smiled at the sight. If it weren’t for the demon, I would be happier to reunite with them. I’m just afraid for them. I don’t want them to get hurt. I’ll protect them.
I stood up, but shockingly, I collapsed on the spot. I couldn’t breathe. My head was hurting, and my eyesight was beginning to blur. Pain began ascending through my body. I never felt such pain before. I wanted to scream, but the lack of in my lungs was preventing me. I held myself in a poor attempt to stop it. Elliot awoke to the noise I made. He saw me, near tears, writhing in pain. He quickly became worried and immediately came to my side. He was afraid to touch me for fear of causing more pain. Mimori then woke up, and she started to cry.
Without thinking twice, Elliot embraced me to help me through the pain, and he bgan to talk softly, “Yumi, what’s wrong? What’s hurting you?”
I couldn’t answer. I was beginning to fade from the lack of oxygen. I suddenly realized that this was how the demon showed. It housed itself within me, and when it became strongest, it would kill me and take over. I was blind to this. Not any more. I will not succumb to it.
In my mind I saw the demon’s spirit. I focused my mind, and soon enough the pain stopped. I gasped for breath and collapsed into my brother’s arms. Mimori came over and held me as well. Cold sweat rolled down my face and nack.
“Yumi, are you okay now?” asked Elliot.
“Yeah,” I panted.
Mimori hugged me tighter and I could feel the wetness of her tears fall on my shirt.
“Sister, what’s wrong? What happened to you?”
I didn’t want to tell her the truth, but I couldn’t bear lying to her. So I said, “It tried to come out.”
Mimori looked up confused, but Elliot fully understooid and his face showed he was upset.
“You don’t mean Kanna, do you?” he asked.
“What’s Kanna, Brother?” Mimori asked.
My brother and I exchanged glances, unsure of what to say. I decided to go ahead and let her know. So I said, “Mimori. Every wonder why I looked different?” I saw the little girl shake her head. “These ears, tail, eyes. They are the signs of a demon. Every one hundred years, a demon is born into a human family. It turns out I’m that demon. The demon possessed body acquires the three traits I already pointed. And Kanna is the demon’s real name.”
“Why are you the demon?” she asked.
“It was chosen by fate. Do you hate me now?”
The little girl smiled, “I would never hate you, Sister. I don’t understand it all, but I’ll never stop loving you.”
That last comment saddened me. Kanna will soon prevail in overtaking me, and I’m afraid of what it will do to them. I hugged Mimori tight. I felt sad that she would probably be killed by my hands, but I felt happy knowing someone loved me.
“Thank you, Mimori,” I said.
“Yumi, you sure you’re all right?” Elloiot asked.
I nodded my head in answer.
We slept for the remainder of the night, and continued our journey to the next town. Town after town we went. We could never stay for more than a week, for fear someone would recognize me.
Today sucked and that's all I'm gonna say. Cuz I know ver well you guys don't care. You just want to hear some more about that story I posted yesterday. I think a got a title for it now, but I have like 5 thoughts about it, so I'll post the title for it in tomorrow's post. That's a promise. Anyhoo, I'll just get the show on the road and post that dang story you guys liked. oh yeah. u guys can tell the person is a girl right? Some of my friends asked me if it was a boy or a girl. So I was wondering if you couldn't tell. Well, happy reading! ^^
Unitled story (duh) part 2
I leave my small room and head out once again. I stay in a town for a few days. I have a picture of my brother and sister, and I show it to all of the townsfolk.
“Yeah, I saw them. I think they just left here a while ago. They headed to that shop over there,” said an elderly man I had just shown the picture to.
“Thank you, sir!” I exclaimed. I finally found them.
I saw them come out of the shop and quickened my pace. Just then, I felt my cap come off. My ears were showing in broad daylight.
“It’s the demon!” screamed a woman. This began to cause an uproar.
The attention of my siblings were quickly drawn. As much as I wanted to go to them, I just couldn’t. My brother had to hold my sister back. She wanted to run to me. We all exchanged longing expressions, and I quickly left.
I hid in an alley. No one looked for me there. It became dark shortly and it was the night of the new moon. Pitch black engulfed everything. All but small torches set in the streets.
Because of my demon, I have agility and strength of a cat proportionate to my size. I jumped from roof to roof, searching through each window, each opening, I could find. I finally found them. It was the third floor of an inn. I quietly opened th window and crawled in. My brother stirred and opened one eye. He saw me and jolted up out of bed. My sister woke up as well. Without making noise, we all embraced each other and began to talk softly.
“Elliot, Mimori. I missed you both,” I said.
“We missed you too, big sister,” Mimori, my sister, was trying to refrain from crying, but it was a poor attempt as the tears began to well in her eyes.
Elliot, my brother, hugged me tighter again, “We got worried something happened to you, Yumi.”
Mimori was just a little girl. She’s only six years old, but she’s a brave girl. She has dark blonde hair. Sometimes when I look at her, I see our mother. Elliot is my older brother. He just turned nineteen two months ago. He’s very protective of me and Mimori and he is strong for his age; but because of the demon in my blood, I am the strongest. He has dark brown hair and he looks just like our father. To be honest, I look nothing like my family.
Our parents died six years ago. Right after Mimori was born. I was only ten then. Elliot tried his best to take care of us, but the townsfolk hated us all because of me.
But now I’m with my siblings. I don’t have anything else to worry about.
Halo lolimnos!
Day bad. School bad. No homework good.
Well, I wrote this story in class today and now I'm posting. The names I used were just random names off the top of my head so i need new names. And plz comment. I'm gonna post the first part. so it'll be short sweet and to the point. ^^
and here we go..... o yeah. need a title. help me....
(help me with the title)
It had been too long. I miss my brother and sister. I wish I didn't have to leave them, but I needed to get out of there. I thought maybe if I left, they would be safer from the others, but as I look at my home burned to ashes, I think otherwise.
I was gone no more than a month. I came back to see if they were okay, but instead I see black ash where my home used to be. I couldn't smell any charred flesh, so I guessed they were probably alive. I quietly eavesdropped on some of the neighboring houses. I overheard them saying they saw them escaping the inferno. I beacame relieved.
Now, it's my third week of searching for them. I disguise myself so no one knows who I am. The only people who can recognize me is my brother and my sister. They can see it's me by the necklace I wear.
I found a place to stay in a town. It's only temporary. It's not much either, just a bed, a single chair, and a small table. It's all I can afford anyway.
A quick look in the mirror to make sure my disguise is set right. As I look, I see two black cat ears sticking up out of my long jet black hair. I fix a hat over them so they are well hidden. My eye are an odd shade of green. Many people have asked me about it. They look similar to a real cat's. I have an ability to change any part of my body, but sadly it has the exception of the ears and eyes. I carefully wrap a long tail around my waist and cover it with a belt. That I can't change either.
I have to hide. People are afraid of me. It's because I am a demon. In our legends, every one hundred years a demon is nborn into a family. I am that demon. The real story is that the demon's true form awakens and it wreaks havoc upon all that is sees. I call it the inner demon. I won't let it happen. I'll stop the cycle of the demon. That's what I set out to do in the first place, but first I must find my family.
I'll get the rest up tomorrow. but only if u like it so far. there's A LOT more so just tell me and I'll post it.
Fallen Angel
Chapter 1: The Beginning
“Hey! Amaya!”
“Hey! Dagan! Up here!” yelled a young girl of about seventeen. She wore a red tank top with a pair of shorts. She had waist length, black hair tied back in a ponytail, and beneath her long bangs were two silver eyes, that caught the sun’s light. She was standing on a mound of rocks and stones that reached above twenty feet.
“What are you doing?” a boy, only two years older than the girl, balked at the foot of the mound and stared upward with royal blue eyes. He had unkempt dark brown hair, and he wore a black t-shirt and jeans.
“I got bored waiting for you to show up.”
“Be careful. Something could slip out of place,” said a concerned Dagan.
“Yeah right. This thing is as stubborn as my old man,” Amaya said as she kicked a pebble out of place. She suddenly lost her footing and slipped.
She began to slide down the mound and into the river at the foot of the mound next to where Dagan was standing. She hit the water and submersed entirely.
After a few seconds underwater, she resurfaced and nearly choked on the air.
“I hate to tell ya ‘I told ya so’ but I told ya so,” said Dagan, crouching down next to the river.
“I don’t really give a care of what you said.”
“Now what have we here. What are you two doing out here in forbidden territory?”
“Oh, hi, sir,” the two said sheepishly.
“You two know better than to travel in forbidden territory,” lectured Elder Wyke.
“Oh, Dad, lighten up. There really isn’t anything over there,” replied Amaya.
Dagan leaned over and whispered in Amaya’s ear, “Wrong answer.”
“Is there something you want to share with us, Dagan?” said the Elder.
“No,” he said tensely.
“You two will get a warning, but next time there will be consequences. I mean it.”
Amaya and Dagan ventured out of the village shrine and left Lorinia. It was a quaint, little town in the westernmost part of Kranya. They headed for the river that was not in forbidden territory.
“Amaya, you’re too carefree. One day that will be the death of you,” said Dagan.
“Whatever.”
BOOM!
“What was that?” she asked.
“An explosion!”
They ran back to town to find it all in ruins. Some were severely wounded, but most had met their demise from the deadly explosion.
“Oh no. Dad!” said Amaya, concern plain in her voice.
She looked frantically for her father underneath the rubble and ruin of the shrine.
“Amaya,” said Dagan softly, “I . . . found him.”
Amaya walked slowly to the spot he pointed to. The sight that was set before her was too much for her to bear. Her father was still alive, but life was seeping away every second. She knelt before him.
“Amaya, you are now the protector of this town,” said the elder wincing in pain.
“Dad, don’t talk like that. You’ll be fine. Please, you don’t have to leave.”
“My child, fate has chosen now to be my end, and you to be the beginning. I leave my one possession to you,” the elder handed her a pendent, “Amaya, this was your mother’s. You will know when you are ready to accept the ancient power,” he smiled, “Do not cry.”
Rain began to pour as the man fell limp. It was as if the sky wept for the many who had died.
“I won’t, I promise,” she muttered.
She sat there silently, in the pouring rain.
A funeral was held the next day for the many people who died. She stayed at home until everyone left the graveyard. She walked slowly to the grave of her father and knelt before it.
Amaya secluded herself from others after the burial of her father and the others who passed away. As much as she wanted to, she promised to never shed a tear. The townspeople thought it cruel and heartless, but she was merely keeping a promise to her father.
Tired of sitting inside for days, Amaya ventured out of her house. She squinted when the sun hit her face as she saw Dagan walking toward her.
“Dagan?”
“Amaya. Are you all right? You’ve been locked up in your room for so long,” Dagan replied.
Her eyes went soft when she saw his concern for her.
“Come on. The elder’s assistant told me to get you.”
“Why?”
“You’ll see,” he said as he grabbed her arm.
Dagan led Amaya to the elder’s assistant’s house. He opened the door and ushered her in.
“Amaya, you are now the one to fulfill the role of protecting the village. You must use the powers you have inherited to do so. This is what your father wished for. Are you ready?” said the elder’s assistant. She was an elderly woman. She looked to be frail, but had an old fighting spirit about her. Her long gray hair was tucked away in a bun, and she wore a long white cloak that hung from her shoulders to the floor.
“Yeah. I guess.”
“Dagan, please.”
“Yes, ma’am,” he said as he left the room.
Within the home, there was a bed covered with red sheets. There were many candles, forming a circle around the bed.
“Amaya, lie down on the bed,” instructed the old woman.
Amaya obeyed the assistant’s instruction. The woman lit the candles and began the ceremony. The woman grabbed a bowl off of a nearby table. The bowl was filled with sweetest scent she had ever smelled. The smell was enchanting and eventually worked its way to Amaya’s mind. Soon enough, the scent had lulled her to sleep.
Amaya began dreaming. In the dream, she was able to feel the objects around her. She seemed to be on the ground, staring at the stars beyond the glass ceiling. She tried to sit up, but a shocking pain surged through her body. She cried out from the pain. She turned her head slightly to see a figure. It was a boy. He didn’t seem to be able to get to her. She thought it may have been a glass wall. He looked like he was yelling something, too. His eyes were concerned and were on the brink of shedding tears. His face seemed so familiar, yet the way he looked at her seemed so foreign. She knew exactly who it was, but his eyes were not something she knew. Her vision was beginning to blur and the last thing she saw was the boy’s eyes, finally shedding tears, and the last thing she heard was her name being called.
She awoke from the dream mumbling to herself, “Wha . . . Why was he crying? Why?
“Hey, how did it go?” asked Dagan.
“It’s official. I am now the protector of Lorinia,” replied Amaya.
“Wow. Sounds like a hard job. You sure you can handle it?”
“No sweat. Hey, let’s head to the river.”
Dagan and Amaya headed to the river and sat down on the soft grass. The wind was cool and refreshing in the hot evening sun. The wind blew Amaya’s brown hair and moving her long bangs into her eyes. She quickly brushed the hair out of her face, revealing a stone on her forehead.
“What’s that?” asked Dagan as he saw the stone.
“What’s what?” Amaya replied.
“That stone on your forehead. I’ve never seen it before.”
“It’s always been there, but I still don’t know what it was for. Dad never told me about it. He only told me that it is a powerful crystal and that I was born with it. He also said it had unusual powers beyond my comprehension. Whatever that means. Heh.”
“Wow. You know. There’s something I’ve been wanting to tell you for awhile,” said Dagan.
“What is it?” Amaya asked.
The words stuck in his throat which almost made him gag uncomfortably.
“Is something wrong?” she asked becoming concerned.
“No, Amaya. I just wanted to say that . . . .” he couldn’t finish the sentence.
“Dagan,” she became annoyed. “What is it?”
“Never mind. It’s really nothing,” he gave up.
“All right. Suit yourself.”
Dagan hated himself for not saying it.
Amaya decided not to ask him about it. She knew eventually he’ll tell, though what he tried to say escaped her.
They sat by the river for a very long time. The sky started to get dark as the sun began to set. The clouds turned a dark purple and orange and the wind started to pick up ruffling Dagan’s hair and blowing Amaya’s across her face. She brushed it away from her eyes as she looked at the now dark blue sky dotted with stars.
Amaya suddenly broke the long silence, “Dagan, I wish Dad didn’t have to die. I wish Fate would have decided to let him live. That way I could repay him for all the things I have done.”
“What are you talking about? What did you do to your father?”
“Don’t tell me you never knew? I always teased him about his work. I never thought being a guardian would be so much work for him. And now there are all these questions I want answers to. Like who caused the explosion, what is this stone on my forehead really capable of doing, and what my father mean by ‘You will know when you are ready to accept the ancient power?’ All these questions, and so little answers. And I’m sure that when I find these answers, there will be even more questions ahead.”
“Amaya. One day. One day you’ll find what you’re looking for.” He began, to her horror, to stand up flexing his muscles. “And I’ll help. Anyone that stands in your way will have to go through me! Ah-hah! I will make sure no harm comes to you!” he said, feeling heroic.
“Oh! My hero!” Kallah said sarcastically rolling her eyes, “By the way, am I not supposed to protect the village and not be protected myself?”
“Oh yeah.”
