Rough Beginnings

January 24, 2005 Kristen:"No." Mom:"Kristen, you're going." "No I'm not. I'm not leaving Kotsu here." "You're going to school. Kotsu'll be just fine alone." "What are you talking about?! Kotsu hasn't woken up from the time he's been here!!! So how can you tell me that he'll be just fine here alone?!" "Raven's going to school. That doesn't mean she doesn't care." "She's Raven and I'm Kristen. And she wouldn't be going if I wasn't gonna stay. So I'm not leaving to go anywhere." "(sigh) Your nust like me. You never give up. You're not moving are you?" "Nope." "Okay... you can stay, but i want you to stay home. The only reason I'm letting you stay at home is because of Kotsu." "Of course. Thanks Mom. Bye." "Bye. I'll see you later." After Mom left, Dad otu the door. He must have been late for work. As I was going up the stairs, Raven was coming down. Raven:"Later." Kristen:"Bye." When she left, I went upstairs to take a shower. I put on some clothes and started blow - drying my hair. I would finish, have some breakfast, and then see how Kotsu was doing. After I was done with breakfast, I remembered my homework. I didn't do the one from over the weekend, and Raven would be bringing more from today. I went into my room. That's where Kotsu was sleeping. I've had to sleep in Raven's room. But that was fine. I sat next to him on the bed. The light from the window was hitting his face. His hair was glistening in the sunlight. He looked beautiful. I moved some hair that was in his face, and then my thumb slid onto his cheek. His skin was soft and warm. Then I realized what I was doing, grabbed my bag and left. I went into Raven's room and did my homework. I had woken up early, so I took a nap. I slept for awhile. When I woke up, I realized my head was in somone's lap. I looked up to see Kotsu sleeping face. I rubbed my eyes. How did he get here? I shook him and him up. Kristen:"Kotsu." Kotsu:"Hmm..." "Kotsu, wake up." "Huh? Oh. Hi Kristen." "Are you okay?" "Yeah. I told I'd get better in a few days. The reason I was sleeping for so long is because I was healing myself." "Really?" I lifted his shirt. He had already taken off the bandages I changed Saturday. There were no scars and you couldn't tell where the wounds were. I poked him. Kristen:"It doesn't hurt at all?" Kotsu:"No." I was so happy that I hugged Kotsu. "I'm so glad you're alright." Kotsu:"...Umm..." I looked up at him. He diidn't know I was looking. He wasn't hugging me back. He was blushing and looking away. Kotsu:"...Uhh...Kristen?" I got off of him. Kristen:"Yeah?" Kotsu:"Thank you...for taking care of me." "...You're welcome." "Sooo..." Then it was quiet for a minute. "Kotsu?" "What is it?" "How'd did you get hurt in the first place?" "I hadn't come all week because Aoshi and I were working on yours Raven's birthday present. On the night of your birthday, I was coming to get you two. But a demon came out of nowhere and attacked me. I killed him, but I was too slow. It took all the energy I had to get here. I was already close by, so I was lucky. But I knew that if I were here, I'd be safe." "You always will." "Thank you." "You don't have to that me anymore." "Hey." "What?" "I haven't eaten in awhile. What do you have to eat?" "Nothing really. How about a pizza?!" "Perfect!"
