Random Review...
Title: On The Beach
Made in: God knows when...
Made by: Who cares...
Cast: Bryan Brown, Rachel Ward, Armande Assante (?), etc...
Summary: It's set in current timeline and begins when nuclear warfare is unleashed between the Americans and the Chinese because the latter was invading Taiwan. As a result the world has become a dangerous place to live in, since the radiation amassed in the northern hemisphere is rapidly moving south. The countdown begins as what is left of mankind, tries to find a way to survive and avert impending doom.
Personal Comments: This would have to be one of the most depressing movies that I have ever watched and I thought that Pearl Harbor was depressing. The plot was a bit shaky and mostly focused on the human aspect. It was a bit too close to home for me and the fact that it was set in a time so like ours was a bit unnerving. Probably my only enjoyment was watching Julian (Brown) make a complete ass of himself to other people. Well, jerk would probably be more accurate. Definitely NOT a film for the young at heart, children and sentimental people.
Rating: 2/5. I hate depressing movies. They're such a downer. Then again coming from someone who always manages to cry at least once in a movie, you might want to form your own opinion.
