The morning was not going to be a disaster after all. The bus was on time and traffic was light. With the last class of the week ahead of him Theo was looking foward to a weekend with his friends.
The classroom was noisy. Mrs. Greanwyloe had never been the kind of teacher to run a quiet disciplined environment. Theo copied the biology notes as fast as she wrote them on the board, but hated that he was so easily distracted by the feelings he had for his teacher. He wasn't in love with her, not really. It wasn't even a crush, but he could hardly make it through one class without wanting to sketch her. He had to focus today though. The material was not difficult, but there was so much to memorize. With only three weeks left until the summer break he had to bring up this grade. As she continued to write the list of names of fresh water fish on the chalk board, her hand absentmindedly pushing the strand of her dark hair, that had come down from the pin on the back of her head, behind her ear, Theo watched her profile. The calm light smile that played on her lips as she made a slight comment on each name, and the way her nose was perfectly propotioned to her face. Without even realizing what he had done, Theo missed the last four entries lightly drawing in ink a stylized silhouette of her remarkable face.
