"All of this plus chapters five through eight will be on the test Teusday", Ms. Greanwyloe said as she finished slaping the chalk dust from her hands, "and I have a few anouncements before class is dismissed".
Theo worked frantically to finish his notes, abandoning his artwork. Anouncements were usually good news in this class and he wanted to hear them all.
"There will not be a lab tomorrow. Everyone will recieve full credit for the day. Semester grades will be posted one week after the final. Now for something very important". She moved to the front of her desk and held a small piece of paper up for the class to see. "I have been asked by Doctor Hokkum to relay this message", she said and then read from the note,"this Saturday, the ninth, the marine biology department of Sukijo University will pay volunteers twenty five dollors for four hours of their time in assisting with the cataloging of a large collection of Porichthys notatus. Work will involve disection and measurement of reproductive tracks and egg counts. All students who wish to volunteer should contact Reese Tharlon at the University Plaza, telephone 555-8342". She stopped reading and spoke in a warm tone to the class, "Anyone who volunteers, and writes a one page report of the experience will be given a bonus of five percent added to the grade of Tuesdays test".
A roller coaster of emotions swept through Theos chest. A chance to make a little cash, and get extra credit was PERFECT, but SATURDAY! He had now semi-sort of promised two people he would go to the game convention. How could his life keep falling into patterns that he was confused by.
"And one final thing befor we go away for our weekend", Ms. Greanwyloe said more dramaticaly, "I want to see the following students after class today, before I leave my office at three; Theovidis Magalini, Mika Woolorly and Joshua Tist".
