Episode 6: Vengeance

The footsteps grew louder and louder as they approached the duo. "What....do you think it is?" Rhea asked Ryujin. "I don't know," Ryujin responded. "But if it's what I"m thinking... we'd better prepare for the worst." The 2 could only wait as the footsteps drew ever closer. Finally, a silohuette appeared on the sun-drenched horizon. Ryujin gazed in horrow as he recognized the gigantic figure. "Gargant..."

Gargant are one of the most powerful types of Demagen in all of Teragenine. They typically tower at 20 feet, minimum. They have a repitilian visage which hides rows of razor-sharp teeth up to 7 inches in length. The back side of their collosal red-tinted bodies are lined with large scales, which serve as the sole energy source of thei ultimate attack: an incredible blast of pure energy emitted from its mouth. Combine this with its mammoth size and awesome strength, Gargant are definetaly a force to fear.

"Rhea," Ryujin said, "Can you still fight? Because we are no longer just protecting the Spectrum; everything could be demolished. I've only seen one of these beasts in my lifetime, and it annihilated my home. If you start this battle, you cannot quit if it gets too hard. The Gargant will hunt you down, so you can't back out. Can you handle that?" "I don't know," Rhea responded, breathing heavily. "The last battleleft me completely drained, and I don't wanna be in the way." "That's fine," Ryujin said. "Get all the remaining soldiers inside the Spectrum. And...don't be dissappointed. I'll be fine." The masked swordsman then ran off to fight the behemoth Demagen. As he ran off into the horizon, thoughts raced through his head. "Maybe I should not have given her those gauntlets...they took too much out of her."

Rhea rushed to save the wounded soldiers that littered the blood-scarred battlefield. As she brought the bodies back into the Spectrum, she worried about Ryujin's fate in his upcoming battle. "His home was destroyed be a Gargant, yet he still wishes to fight... to protect MY home." Rhea gazed into the horizon, and watched him race into battle. "He's so valient," she thought. "He's risking his life for this Spectrum, but has no obligation to do so. What a guy...."

Ryujin prepared to face the massive creature. As he took hold of his blade and his tattered clothes and untamed hair swayed in the ominous winds, the Gargant approached. His expression, even hidden under the mask, was clear: determined, driven, bearing no sign of fear of regret. The Gargant sensed it, too, as it waited for Ryujin's imminent assault. "There's no turning back now," he said to himself. He lunged at the Gargant with unprecedented speed and agility. The monster swung its gigantic claws furiosly, but couldn't match Ryujin's speed. Ryujin glided up the back of the Gargant with such grace that it seemed as if he was flying. He drew his glowing blade to attack the scales of the monster. In doing so, he would prevent the Gargant's only means to launch its ultimate attack. "Nova Blade!" Ryujin yelled. Suddenly his blade radiated with a burning red light, as if it was being incinerated. He swung his energized sword at one of the scales, but the Gargant retaliated by swinging its huge tail, knocking Ryujin into the ground. Before he could recover, the monster dropped its massive foot unto Ryujin's body. Ryujin screamed in anguish, and struggled to grab hold of his sword, which had lost its radiant glow. The Gargant then kicked Ryujin across the ground, and gathered energy to launch its ultimate attack. Ryujin couldn't move. "Damnit, i can't move," he panicked. "HOw ironic, that i will die at the hands of the same creature that began my wretched fate. No, I cannot die yet! She... needs me." This didn't matter to the Gargant. It launched it's final attack. The blast was of a nuclear green hue, and was released at such a force that the Gargant fell under the power. "It can't end this way..." Ryujin thought as he braced himself for impact. Sudennly, a voice out of nowhere yelled, "It won't ends!" Ryujin was astonished. "Rhea?!"

It was Rhea, alright, who had gained a second wind, and a new attack. She deployed 7 knives that remained suspended in front pf Ryujin. "Sonic Barrier!" yelled Rhea. This cause the 7 knives to be connected by bolts of lightning. The connection resulted in a large thunder clap that created a sonic boom that absorbed the attack. Ryujin stared in bewilderment as he watched Rhea's incredible feat. Rhea the threw several knives into the Gargant's yellow eyes. "I thought she was drained..." Ryujin thought. "Then she comes and executes a technique like that. She's phenomenal." Rhea ran over to Ryujin. "Are you alright?" she asked. "Can you stand?" Ryujin somehow felt the strength to stand. "Yes, I'm fine," he replied. He gazed into Rhea's beautiful, red eyes, which were struggling to hold back tears, "Don't scare me like that," she laughed, uneasily. Ryujin gazed at her empathectically, then quickly turned his attention back to the battle. "I think we can defeat this monster, together," he told her. "I'll do whatever it takes," she replied. "Alright," said Ryujin. "You stay back here and I'll attack its scales. When it swings its tail, that's when you attack. When all the scales are destroyed , we'll move in for the kill." "Got it," responded Rhea. Ryujin the took off to execute the plan.

Ryujin had regained his strength, and moved arond to the Gargant's back as swiftly as ever. He jump to the first scale and began his assault. "Nova Blade!" he yelled as his sword regained its energize glow, and attack the scales. After 2 sift strikes, tje scale shattered. The Gargant roared in pain, and swung its tail at Ryujin. But Rhea was ready. She threw 5 knives that lodged themselves into its tail. The Gargant screamed again, and attack madly, but Ryujin was well out of harm's way. He shattered each scale until none remained. Then he regrouped with Rhea. "Time foe the final blow," Ryujin said. "Pierce Beam!" yelled Ryujin as he emitted the blinding light from his blade. "Lightning Tempest!" Rhea screamed, creating the storm of lightning that electrocuted the Gargant. The gigantic beast fell to the ground with a thunderous roar.

"We did it," said Rhea, exhausted. Her long red hair waved in the wind. "We make a pretty good team." "Thanks," repliede Ryujin. "You saved my life...I'm in your debt." Rhea didn't respond. Ryujin looked back at Rhea and found that she had collasped. "She deserves a rest..." he said. as he carried her back to the Spectrum.
