Eyes: bright emerald green.
Hair: very long & black with silver bangs framing his face; usually kept braided, but he will leave it down on occasion. This usually leads to him being mistaken for a girl from behind.
Other interesting traits: ears are slightly pointed. The kanji for fire and metal are on the insides of his forearms. He can turn completely silver.
Family:
Parents: Father, Yoshihiro; Mother, Shizuyo. Father was the second son of a samurai that had a falling out with his family about Shizuyo. He died in the Seinan War. His mother was a demon and was able to change from the silver form to a form that can blend in with humans. She disappeared when Hikaru was about 2 years old.
Paternal Grandparents: Nakamura Takashi & Michiko. The elder Nakamura is realizing at a late age that the argument with Yoshihiro caused too much of a rift in his family. Michiko is a conniving woman with her own agenda for her grandson.
Maternal Grandparents: Rin - Shizuyo's mother. She's an astrologer and an elder in the youkai village. She misses her daughter, but is very happy she has a grandson. Toshi - Shizuyo's father. He is a different type of yokai from Rin. He's tall, has green hair and is capable of changing his appearance. He's attuned to fire and is a bit of a mystery right now.
Others: Takeda-sensei - Yoshihiro's lifelong friend and comrade-in-arms. He's something of a second father to Hikaru. Samantha O'Riley - headstrong American girl with the power of precognition. She cares deeply for people and tends to fuss over Hikaru.
Personality:
Hikaru is a slightly spoiled only child. His father was afraid that because he was smaller than the other kids his age, he'd be bullied, and therefore taught him the art of swordsmanship starting at age 6. This has resulted in Hikaru being a bit overconfident. He also has a stubborn streak like his father and a temper like his mother. The temper can manifest in a rather explosive way, as Hikaru will burst into bright green flames. Even though he hasn't fully realized it yet, he is absolutely head over heels in love with Samantha. If anyone threatens her, he will defend her to the point of madness.
