   Chapter five and six
Chapter five

Miles spent most of Saturday at Quidditch practice, when it was over he fell on the ground, thinking of what to do next. He felt a sharp jolt of pain in his rib, he lifted his head to see his friend Katlyn, "Whaaaat?" he whined.

She smiled evilishly "Up." she said.

"Nooo..." he replied.

She kicked him again "Up."

"You're too mean to be a real Griffyndor!" Miles said.

Katlyn smiled "You're point?" she asked.

Miles sat up and looked at his friend, Katlyn had black hair spiked up and purple highlights, she wore black makeup and a spike choker. Most people at Hogwarts thought she was crazy but not Miles, they were friends forever, Katlyn was the daughter of Severus' best friend. She sat next to him "You want lunch?" she asked.

"What?" Miles asked.

"Do you want lunch?" she asked.

"You kick me as hard as hell and then you ask me if I want lunch?" he asked. "You sure there's nothing wrong with ya head?" he asked playfully.

Katlyn laughed "If there was I wouldn't be here." she said.

"I heard your rents' kicked you out..." Miles said.

"Well dad did, mom tried her best to convince dad to let me stay but he won't allow me." Katlyn replied.

Miles looked at Katlyn, she looked like she was going to cry but Katlyn never cried, she said she was too strong to cry, but Miles knew better, he was always the pillow she cried on when someone or something hurt her. Luna came walking up "Hello Miles!" She said happily.

"Hello!" Miles replied.

Luna looked at Katlyn and turned away, Luna never really liked Katlyn just as she never really liked Hagrid. Katlyn looked up at Luna, who was glaring at her, "Uh... Miles, tell your girlfriend to stop glaring at me." Katlyn said.

Miles laughed nervously "Luna, stop. You two gotta start gettin along, I don't wanna be the one caught in the middle." Miles said.

"No." Luna said. "She's too weird."

"Oh I'm weird?" Katlyn said. "Look who's talkin Ms. 'I believe in stuff that ain't real'."

Miles looked at both of them "Stop you two! Look, Luna, Kat's my bestfriend and Kat, Luna is my girlfriend." Miles said.

Katlyn stood up "Later, Miles." she said.

Miles could've heard a sad tone in her voice "Luna, everytime you see Kat you say these horrid things to her. Look, Luna, you know I love you, but you can't treat my best friend like that." Miles said.

"Are you taking her side over mine?" Luna asked, tears falling down her cheeks.

"No, no, I'm just saying I would like you two to get along." Miles replied.

Luna pulled her arm back and struck Miles in the faces "I hate you! I never want to see your face again! It's over!!" Luna yelled. she stood up and ran off.

Miles sat there unaware of what he'd done wrong. He fell on his back, thinking, "Maybe dad could help... No... I've never gone to dad for girl problems......." Miles said.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione came walking up "MILES!" they called.

They sat next to him "You okay?" Ron asked.

Miles looked at them "No..." Miles replied.

"Why?" they asked.

"Luna broke up with me." Miles said.

"Why?" Hermione asked.

"Cuz I asked her to stop being mean to Katlyn." Miles said.

"You mean that Goth, girl?" Ron asked.

Hermione slapped Ron in the back of the head. "What?" Ron asked.

Before Miles could say anything they heard a scream from behind them. They turned around, they couldn't see anything. They stood up and ran off. They reached up near Hagrid's house, when they saw Katlyn, lying on the ground, blood all over the place. Hagrid ran out of his house to Katlyn. Miles looked around and saw Malfoy by a tree laughing his head off. "Ron, you and Harry, attack the snake." Miles said pointing to Malfoy.

Ron and Harry nodded and took off. Hermione and Miles ran down to Hagrid and Katlyn "Is she okay?" Miles asked.

"She'll be fine, I'm takin her ter teh hospital wing." Hagrid said.

Miles said nodded and went with him.

Chapter six

Miles waited for Madom Pomfrey to get done healing Katlyn, he sat outside the hospital wing, "What did that rat do to her?" he asked.

Ron and Harry came running up to Miles "We couldn't catch him..." they said breathlessly.

Miles cursed under his breath and hit his knee with his fist. The door opened and there was Madom Pomfrey, she nodded her head. Miles stood up and walked in, Katlyn was sitting on a bed, she looked up at Miles and smiled. Miles pulled up a chair and sat next to her, he smiled weakly, tears falling from his icy blue eyes. Katlyn placed her hand on his cheek and wiped away his tears. "Miles, what's wrong?" she asked.

"I was frigin worried bout ya." he said.

"I just got pushed into some stupid rocks, Miles." she replied.

"By Malfoy?" Miles asked.

"Yeah... him and those fat freaks he hangs out with." Katlyn said.

Miles sighed "Why?"

"Why? I dunno, cuz Malfoy's been tryin ta get me ta go out with him but I got a boyfriend." she said.

Miles looked at her with a raised eyebrow "Who?" Miles asked.

"You, boy who is my friend." Katlyn said.

Miles smiled weirdly. Katlyn laughed. Miles sat on the bed next to her "I'm glad you're okay." he said.

Katlyn rested her head on his shoulder, "Thanks for comin ta help." she said. "Oh, but wouldn't Luna be mad you're here?"

"She dumped me..." Miles said.

"Look, don't give up yet, I'll talk ta her tomorrow, tell her that you're only my friend and ask her to get back with you!" Katlyn said.

Miles smiled "Okay."

The door opened, there was Katlyn's father and Severus "Katlyn!" the man said.

"Oh joy." she said.

The man walked up to her, he looked at her with his typical angry expression "Thank God you're alright!" he said hugging her.

"HUH?" she asked.

"I'm sorry! You'll be coming home." he said.

Miles looked at her and smiled "Surprise." he said.

Katlyn hugged her father back, crying on his shoulder. Miles and Severus stood next to them smiling.
