Yeah, so I got over three hundred hits. I'm shocked that many poor people have seen this page.

Well, I'm on break all week. No classes, so awesome. We're doing a lot of work with Epic because of this. I'm not calling today or tomorrow, but after that Jess and Bobby go on break. We'll finish the Halloween episode and probably start working on the first. We've been doing a sort of timeline. We've figured a lot of stuff out so that's good. We've got a lot of stuff going on with Porqe, Adellenine, Wheeler, and Leroy. Which means we had to come up with Porqe's rival, Kaspar. Kaspar has Phyre and Swift as his flunkies and all three of them are falconers. I love falconry so much but haven't had a chance to use it until Epic. So, I've got the Merridam family who are the master falconers of the world. People get their birds from them and get trained by them. Adellenine's an exception. She stole her bird from them and figured out how to train her by herself. So their relationship isn't very typical.

The birds (raptors) seen in Epic are:

Sallya; Adellenine's female white gyrfalcon. I picked a female because they're bigger, heavier, and more aggressive. Gyrfalcons have been seen dive-bombing bears. They're tough birds.

Alaqua; Kaspar's female harpy eagle. This one was female on a coin toss but I'm glad. The females are larger, heavier, and more aggressive. I picked the harpy because when I was little before I even knew falconry was still around I wanted a harpy eagle because I thought they were pretty. I got teased, but in a way I've got a harpy eagle now, so there. These are big powerful birds. I saw the feet on one that was a hunter, the talons are bigger then a grizzly bear claw.

Keefe; Phyre's female blue eagle. This was a female on a coin toss too. When I was doing my research on falconry, I saw a picture of this guy flying a really awesome huge blue bird. He said it was a Chilean blue eagle. I don't know much about them yet and I've only found a few pictures. Epic doesn't have Chili, that's why I just called it a blue eagle.

Galahad; Swift's male kestrel. Swift is the runner for the group so his raptor had to be a lot small. This was also a coin toss for gender. Galahad is really a Madagacar kestrel, but Madagascar doesn't exsit in Epic. Madagascar kestrels look almost exactly like sparrows. They're really cute.

Victorin; Jedrek's black falcon. You only see Victorin for a couple seconds in Aurelius's backstory. Jedrek was adopted by the Merridam family. Black falcons are very very black. They're really scary looking when thy're ticked off. When they're babies they're colored a bit like ducklings. They're pretty cute.

I decided that Duscha's future husband has a swallow-tailed kite, but I don't have to worry about it. Poor Duscha, she's afraid of birds. Like terrified. She got a bird stuck in her hair once when she was younger. I kind of think it was Ah-nee and Ai's fault.

Yeah, so, that's it for the birds. It's very cool looking at all this stuff. It reminds me of when I was little when I'd hang around the local raptor re-ablitator. He had a kestrel that he couldn't release because it was hit by a car. It was so cute. My dad said he used to bring it to work and fly him at lunch. Well, that's it.
