   New Year's Eve
I guess it's time to look back at 2007 and see what we're all leaving behind.

What can I say about 2007? It was the year of the big freak out for me. The tolls of moving, pressures from school, the letters of the Colimbine shooters, mixed in with the VA Tech shooting took my normally stable frame and blasted it. I cried for days. I stopped going to school for a week. And then it was over, just like that. I was back to normal and I was just angry that I was ever doubted.

2007 was the year of rebellion. I took a vacation back east and was offered a paying job. I decided to take it and not come home. My parents interferred and the never ending fight begain. I held a hatred for them that no kid should ever have for their parents.

2007 was the year of new life. My friend had her daughter in April. I'm not big on babies, but it's still a thing to meantion.

2007 was the year of psycosis. I met some of the weirdest people through this semester. I say this for them, you guys were too crazy for me but I thank you for keeping my classes interesting enough to get me to attend.

2007 was the year of backbone. There's no room for cowards in my family, in my life. I found strength I didn't know was there. Seriously, I had no idea I could lift a damp frozen jumbo tramp over my head. I was sore for three days but I still did it. I took charge of a few Biology classes when normally I'd just let them make mistakes. I shocked my English class into silence. I severed ties with the weak links in the family.

2007 was the year of Epic. It was this year when Epic was truly born. The early days of Epic we can all look back on getting in my car and just driving off, trying to get lost in a place we knew so well. We'll remember the creepy little town that was so much like our own, pulling over on a mountain road to paint th back windshield. We'll remember driving circles in the graveyard with a pentagram painted on the back windsheild trying to read the dedication on the tree during a softball game. We'll remember trying to drive on the worst roads you can image, trying to drive up closed mountain roads. We'll remember that for a second we were sitting in the ditch on our side. And after that we'd work on Epic. Those were the early days before we needed the phones, e-mails, and faulty websites.

2007 was the year of freedom. It's not complete freedom, but it's a start. Issues with the parents, hate, anger, it's been resolved. I'm not trapped anymore.

My resolution for 2008 is to get as much of Epic out there as possible, hopefully ending the year with a YouTube commercial. This year I'll move out. I'll get a job. I'll be going to a real college. This year I'll be that much closer to the freedom I've always wanted. So, watch out 2008, because I'm coming in teeth and claws out and I'll make this year awesome!

Happy New Year!
