   fingers
It's all come down to my fingers. The Fire Group and the Tabasco Group stopped by yesterday. It looks like they'll come around once a week if they keep up this pattern. Now that the Tabasco goslings are two weeks old, Granddaddy Attila, Grandmommy Lilth, and Uncle/Aunt (still too early but I'm betting gander) Scorch are all mean to them. Lilth grabbed Fenugreek and looked as if she was going to rip him apart. She usually just sits around and hisses a lot, but it's times like that that key you in on why her name is Lilith. Poor Arson was right there and got stuck in the middle of his uncles and aunts. The only good part about that was Attila was having troubling getting to him. Fennel and Ember were spazzing and trying to keep the other four from running off in different directions and keep Attila away. And there I was, standing in the middle of a family war on the side of a suburban street as the neighbors stared in mass confusion. I scared Lilith so she did drop Fenugreek. He was okay, just very shaken. Arson was okay too. He managed to get out of the "fire" before Attila or Scorch got him. Scorch's behavior is definately one of a young gander, but with Lilith being an obvious female and obviously aggressive I don't know what to think. I tried getting some pictures, but it was so sunny I couldn't see what I was shooting. I was right about Arson, he's trouble and he was the first Tabasco gosling to eat from my hand. One of the Fire goslings ate out of my hand once but then ran off so I'm not sure which. They get really close but refuse food that you're holding. And Lilith eats from my hand. I think she started doing that last season but I'm not sure. She's even gentler than Ember but I feel slightly uneasy. One wrong twitch and she'll do more than bite. Arson, like his father, doesn't understand fingers and doesn't care. His beak is too small to hurt so right now it's just cute that he nibbles my hands and toes. It won't be so cute in another couple weeks. I really want to hold the goslings before they loose their fluffiness. So far the only wild goose I had that kind of trust with was Basil. I really need to get east to work on the TV show before running off to California in September, but I still want to see Basil first. I don't have pictures of him. Well, they all look more or less the same. Tarragon and Fennel stand out the most because of the misplaced white, but I'd know it was Basil. Se la ve. Yikes, I need to sleep. I got a phone meeting with The Unsaid Works and my school might be calling since everything but housing is set. Ugh, these people never heard of vacation.

Fennel and Arson last week. It was drizzling so Fennel's trying to keep himself clean. Arson is his responsiblity. Good thing the little guy's resting here or Fennel would have to settle for looking sloppy.
