VACATION IN A DISTANT PROVINCE
Hey there guys! Yeah, I know, it's a Tuesday, and I normally don't post on weekdays. I'm just here to inform some stuff to you.
This coming Wednesday, we're gonna be spending our vacation in Agusan del Sur. It's a province in the Mindanao island. It's also where my grandparents from my mother's side lives.
The vacation will last for 1-2 weeks. But don't worry, that doesn't mean that I won't be here for the time-being. Last time I was there (which was last year), they already have an Internet cafe. You can even look at my archives as proof of that. Only problem is that it's so slow yet so pricey.
The little bad thing about being there is that I'll miss some of my fave animes since they no longer have cable there. But I might as well have a summer job either at my aunt's cafe or my grandpa's hardware store to pass time and earn cash.
Now let's move on to TODAY'S SPECIAL.
---------- TODAY'S SPECIAL To pay respect to the late "King of Pop" Michael Jackson, I have removed the joke that had been posted here for the past years. May the soul of Michael Jackson rest in peace, and may the good Lord bless his soul. (Updated 09/05/2009).
GOODBYE, APRIL!
Hey there guys! It's the last day of April today. That means May is tomorrow. And when the time comes that we switch our calendar to the May section, that means school is already a month away. O_O
Oh boy. Even my brother was getting a bit crazy after realizing that the bookstore is starting their "Back-To-School" sale.
Anyway, today is a very special day for the big bosses of theOtaku.com. Yup, today is the 23rd birthday of the creator Adam and the administrator James. Go to their sites and greet them a happy birthday.
Speaking of Adam's birthday, the TOP TEN BIRTHDAY MESSAGES FOR ADAM contest is closed. And sadly, no one submitted an entry. *cries* So I went to Plan B: make the Top Ten list myself. I gave the little gift to Adam and he seemed to have liked it. In fact, he featured it in his myOtaku account right now. If you want to see the Top Ten list that I created, click here.
---------- TODAY'S SPECIAL
While YouTube was trying to make itself cooler than ever, I went to Bolt.com (actually it was Yashi.com, but they joined forces with Bolt). There I found what I believe is one of the best anime parodies in the World Wide Web.
It's none other than The Narutrix, which is a parody of "Naruto" and "The Matrix". And here it is:
PSYCHOLOGY, HERE I GO!
Hey there guys! I've just finished enrolling myself in the University of San Carlos. My course is B.S. Psychology. I hope that through this course, I can have a good career ahead of me.
By the way, these are gonna be my subjects for my first semester: MONDAYS-WEDNESDAYS-FRIDAYS
Philippine Literature
Filipino
Communication Arts
Philippine Government
Business Math
Civic Welfare Training Service
Physical Education (excluding Fridays)
TUESDAYS-THURSDAYS
General Sociology
General Psychology
Religious Education
Computer Education
Later on, I'll be having on I.D. picture taking and submit my certified birth certificate. (They didn't accept the photocopy of the certificate.)
By the way, do you peeps still remember "Yakitate! Japan"? That anime series about bread-baking? Well last Tuesday I saw a VERY humorous episode of the anime show. Why? It's because that episode had a special guest appearance of the one, the only...DETECTIVE CONAN!
Actually, it's a spoof of Detective Conan. In the show, the clown Pierrot was judging a bread competition. While judging Team USA's bread, he sent Kyosuke (of Team Japan) to his world. And then, he disguises himself as Detective Conan and asks Kyosuke to solve his puzzle. After "Conan" was boasting about his deductive skills and how cute he is, Kyosuke solved the puzzle. Then "Conan" transformed back into Pierrot and then gave Kyosuke some DC goodies as prizes. Kinda weird, huh?
And lastly, today's your last chance to submit to me the entries for the "TOP TEN BIRTHDAY MESSAGES FOR ADAM FROM MYOTAKU MEMBERS". Look at my archive for the details.
---------- TODAY'S SPECIAL
I was gonna show you a clip from that weird episode of Yakitate Japan, but YouTube was having problems. Too bad. Maybe I'll show it whenever YouTube is okay already.
So for TODAY'S SPECIAL, here's some crazy quotes from the show, "Family Guy". Peter: Son, this is a big day for you. Today, you become the man of the house, because, when we get home, your mother is going to kill me.
Peter: I don't want your Mom to worry alright? When she worries she starts saying things like 'I told you so' or 'Stop doing that I'm asleep'.
Peter: Oh my god, Brian, there's a message in my Alphabits. It says, 'Oooooo.' Brian: Peter, those are Cheerios.
Mr.Weed: Peter! Are you sleeping on the job? Peter: Uh uh...no! There's uh..a..bug in my eye and I'm trying to suffocate him.
Peter: I've had a good life. And you can always be proud of your father and all of his accomplishments. Meg: What accomplishments? Peter: Go to your room.
BOUGHT SOME BOOKS TODAY
Hey there! Sunday once again.
Well, we did the typical Sunday stuff today. We attended mass, then went to the mall. I went to the National Bookstore and bought 2 books: "Ngalang Pinoy" (a humorous book about Filipino names), and "10 Keys To College Success" (since I'm gonna go to college in the next 2 months). I was thinking of buying "The Stone Cold Truth" (the autobiography of WWE's Stone Cold Steve Austin), but it was a little too pricey for me. As for my brother, he bought, "The Five People You Meet In Heaven".
Speaking of college, I'm still on the decision stage on what course will I take up in college. As of now, I'm thinking of taking up Psychology as my course. My plan is that I'll take Psychology to easily get a job that I feel comfortable at. Then, after earning enough money, I'll take up another course: either Mass Communications or Secondary Education. I can even use the things I learned in Psychology in my second course.
Oh, by the way, my brother has a myOtaku account! In fact, he made the account secretly in Blue Hawk's computer during her birthday party last year! His username is X-705 WIND. Click here to visit his site. It's a bit simple as of now, so please be gentle.
And I'm looking forward for your entries for the TOP TEN BIRTHDAY MESSAGES FOR ADAM FROM MYOTAKU MEMBERS. Click here for the guidelines.
---------- TODAY'S SPECIAL
For TODAY'S SPECIAL, here's the English opening video of Speed Racer. Watching this makes me remember of my childhood days. It also makes me laugh a bit now that I'm grown up. Go Speed Racer Go!
Well nothing much has happened to me today. It's times like this that makes me wish I could get a part-time job at a hotel or bar. And if ever
Well, I'm still thinking what course will I take for college. Right now, these are my choices: Nursing, Psychology, Secondary Education (major in English or Mathematics), and Mass Communication. Hopefully by the end of April, I have already enrolled in one of these courses.
Sadly, I have no Top Ten list to submit in the Articles section this week. If you have your own anime-related Top Ten list, you may submit it here.
Speaking of articles, one theOtaku.com article that caught my attention as of the moment is Pop Culture 101. This is an amusing article by bellpickle that talks about Japanese pop culture. What makes it more interesting is the fact that it has lots of links to different videos and images that gives us a better view of Japanese pop culture. I didn't read everything yet, because my connection is slow, and I want to read it while enjoying the different links. But I suggest you read it, because it's worth your time. Click here to read it.
By the way, I'm working on the "TOP TEN BIRTHDAY MESSAGES FOR ADAM FROM MYOTAKU MEMBERS". This will be submitted to Adam on his upcoming birthday. If you want, you can help me think of what to put in the list. Click here for the guidelines.

Just when you thought that all criminals are as smart as the ones we see in Detective Conan/Case Closed, here's some REAL stories that prove that some criminals just don't have enough brains. Radnor, Pennsylvania: Police interrogated a suspect by placing a metal colander on his head and connecting it with wires to a photocopy machine. The message "He's lying" was placed in the copier, and police pressed the copy button each time they thought the suspect wasn't telling the truth. Believing the "lie detector" was working, the suspect confessed. Chicago: A man was wanted for throwing bricks through jewelry store windows and making off with the loot. He was arrested last night after throwing a brick into a Plexiglas window...the brick bounced back, hit him in the head and knocked him cold until the police got there.
As a bonus, here's a couple of quotes from some great comedy movies:
"Why make trillions when we could make...billions?" - Dr. Evil (Mike Myers), Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
"It's party time! P-A-R-T-Why? Because I gotta!" - The Mask (Jim Carrey)
SURPRISE, SURPRISE!
Hey guys! How was your week? Mine was fine, I guess.
Last Monday, I received the academic excellence award from the city officials. I was really very nervous when it was my turn to get the award. When my name was called, I almost froze and couldn't move. Then I was shaking hands with the Education officials, the city councilors, and even the vice-mayor. Whoa! Unfortunately (or fortunately), the city mayor wasn't there because he has some stuff to do.
What shocked me even more is the fact that my dad (who's not a politician) and the vice-mayor know each other. Double whoa! And my dad also said that when he went to a city council meeting the day after the ceremony, the vice-mayor told other people in the meeting that 'his son is a valedictorian!". Triple whoa!
Then last Wednesday, there was this one Naruto episode that really shocked me. It was because the TV station showed a Filipino dub of a Naruto fansub! Really, really surprising!
And yesterday while me, my bro and my mom were enjoying some Coca-Cola, my bro took a look at the bottom of the bottle cap and realized that he won a free 1 hour computer usage at any Netopia internet cafe. Lucky him! I was gonna steal it, but hey "finders keepers, losers weepers". And, sadly, I'm the loser. Waaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!
Oh, I'm currently making another Top Ten list. But this time it's going to be for the soon-to-be 23-year-old theOtaku.com webmaster! (Who else but Adam?) If you want, you can help me think of what to put in the list. Here's the guidelines for it.
1. The category is "TOP TEN BIRTHDAY MESSAGES FOR ADAM FROM MYOTAKU MEMBERS". Think of a FUNNY and CREATIVE message for Adam. Message must have 1-3 sentences only. Messages must not be too offensive.
2. Send it to me by PRIVATE MESSAGE. If it doesn't send the first time, try again or just send it via YAHOO MESSENGER.
3. Full credit will be given to your message. The 10 best messages will be featured in the list while the other messages will still be sent to Adam.
4. Deadline for the messages will be on April 28, 2006. All messages received after April 28 will not be eligible in the list and/or will be disregarded.
Pass this message to other members. I'll be looking forward to your ideas.

HAPPY EASTER!
Happy Easter everyone! Hope you're enjoying your chocolates and eggs. Easter eggs, that is.
But to my fellow Catholics, don't forget what's the true meaning of Easter. And that is the resurrection of Jesus from death.
So are you going to have one of those Easter Egg hunts? I'm not, 'coz I'm too old for that stuff. *Sigh* The only time I joined in an egg hunt was the one with me, my brother, and my cousin. I found only a few eggs, and as a reward I got some loose change from my relatives. Oh, the good old days.
Anyway, I've just realized that the Top Ten list is starting to make a trend in the articles section of theOtaku.com. As of today, there are already FOUR Top Ten lists in theOtaku.com. Wow!
And now, let's go to TODAY'S SPECIAL

GOOD FRIDAY, AND A LETTER FROM A CONFUSED FRIEND
First of all, thank you very much for the greetings that you've given me during my birthday. I really, really appreciate it. Thanks a lot!
Anyway, it's Good Friday here in our country, so nothing much happened. We might be going to the nearby OAD Tabor Hill later on to spend some time reflecting and watching Mel Gibson's "Passion of Christ". (I already went yesterday, and I even got a chance to confess my sins. However, it was only me and my father.)
Anyway, I've finally submitted a sequel to the successful Top Ten list. It's expected that it will appear on or before Easter Sunday, so watch out for it.
---------- TODAY'S SPECIAL
I've been dying to show you TODAY'S SPECIAL. It's one of the many crazy things that my high school classmate, friend, and semi-retired myOtaku member Blue Hawk created for me.
You see, before school ended we were tasked to make a scrapbook for Home Economics class. Aside from that, we were also tasked to let all of our classmates sign in our scrapbook, with each classmate getting one page. Now I don't know what got into her, but BH here wrote a work that proves that she is a sane-insane person. Anyway, here it is (Real names withheld to protect privacy...and get killed!):
CODE NAME: "BLUE HAWK" ALIAS: PROFESSIONAL BADASS MOTTO: DON'T DRINK, JUST DRINK
THE MASK...
It's been 20 yrs as husband & wife. I've been miserable in our marriage for 15 yrs. I'm just glad that we didn't have any children so filing a divorce w/ you won't be so complicating.
I'm sorry Mask but it's time to let go. To move on & find our true happiness in life, and sadly my nirvana isn't w/ you. I have found someone else; his name is Kakashi Hatake.
I've been having an affair w/ him for 10 yrs and in those 10 yrs. You were in Singapore in a business meeting as you said. I am very happy w/ him and I LOVE HIM. He even proposed to me last night and I accepted.
I wanted to tell you this when you get back home tomorrow from Iraq but when I saw you in TV as a hostage there, I decided to let you know in case you die soon because I know my conscience won't rest if I won't tell you....
Goodbye The Mask...
Sincerely yours,
Blue Hawk
Quite retarded, huh? And for the record, we NEVER had a relationship. Forgive her for her sane-insane self.
TODAY'S MY BIRTHDAY! HIP HIP HOORAY!
Hey there guys! It's April 12! That means one thing: IT'S MY 16TH BIRTHDAY!
Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me.
Happy birthday, happy birthday,
Happy birthday to me!
Well, my birthday started with the practice for the academic excellence awarding ceremony. The practice was really crazy. I didn't know who were the students beside me, and the instructions were quite confusing. But, anyway, it's all over. I just hope things will go well in the actual event, 'coz by the looks of it I don't it's gonna be as successful as they would expect.
I'm starting to get shivers on the awarding ceremony. You see, I just learned that our very own city mayor will be giving me the award. Oh boy...
Anyway, after the practice me and my family went to the mall and ate at the KFC. (We didn't push through with the fancy Chinese restaurant 'coz it was quite expensive.) Later on, I bought the latest issue of Otakuzine, a local anime magazine. Yippee!
Later, we'll go home and enjoy a home-baked chocolate birthday cake. Plus, we'll be watching the final episode of the Korean drama, "Princess Lulu". (Yeah, I know, we're kinda sappy.) And, if ever I'll grow bored, I might even end up watching the first episode of...POKEMON!
EDIT: The group known as SOAP has made a female version of my article, "Top Ten Signs That An Otaku Is Going Insane". To know that this article was inspired by my work really touches me, and serves as their "surprise" birthday gift for me. Click here to read it.
----------- TODAY'S SPECIAL
For today's special, I'm gonna show you the 2nd ending video of the anime show, "Yakitate! Japan". It's really okay if you didn't watch the show yet ('coz I know most of you haven't yet). I'm just showing you this because the song was kinda cool and the video really fits the song. There's no subs, but the music's still cool! Anyway, enjoy the video!
HEY THERE!
Hey there guys! It's quite sunny right now in our place. Just one sign that summer is definitely here.
Anyway, today is Palm Sunday in our country. Today, we, the Filipino Catholics, bring some palm leaves in the church and wave it as the priest blesses it with holy water. Palm Sunday also marks the beginning of the Holy Week.
Aside from Palm Sunday, it's also Bataan Day in our country. On this day, we remember the soldiers in Bataan who sacrificed for our country during World War II. I guess this day has some connection with the infamous Death March.
Also, there's another event that's gonna occur this week. "What is it?", you ask. Turn your head to the left and you'll know.
Yup, it's gonna be my 16th birthday this upcoming April 12 (Wednesday). The bad thing about my birthday this year is the fact that I need to attend a practice for that academic excellence awarding ceremony. *cries* But, hey, the practice is gonna be held at a fancy Chinese restaurant, so I might consider having a birthday feast there. If not, we can always go to the big mall that's a few kilometers from the restaurant.
On other stuff, I'm in the process of making another Top Ten list for theOtaku.com. I was planning to make it a weekly article, but since I'm having a tough time making a Top Ten list that's really funny, I'll just have to change my plans. Sure I did make some right now, but the content doesn't seem funny enough. If you have your own list, you are welcome to submit it here.
