   Storms
I went to three graduation parties for my friends earlier this week. They were all really nice. They were lucky that the weather held off because we've been getting quite a few storms here lately. Yesterday was the worst so far with marble-sized hail. My parents are a bit upset about that one because now our yard's a mess and my graduation party is on Saturday ^^; I love thunderstorms, so I can't complain too much. I feel bad for my dog, though. She's currently hiding behind my chair because it's thundering again ^^; Anyone else have pets that are afraid of storms?

This is my dog, Sammie. Isn't she cute? ^-^

As much as I'm enjoying the weather, I do hope it's nice on Saturday since my party's supposed to be outside. It's going to last for three hours, and I hope they go fast. Parties and crowds aren't exactly favorite things. Still, it'll be nice to see everyone I guess. My relatives from North Carolina are coming up tomorrow to stay for a week or two. It's always great to see them ^^

My drawing of Axel is almost done! I'm hoping to submit it this weekend. Guess that's all for now. Enjoy your day!

   Graduation
My graduation was last night, meaning I'm officially done with high school! I was so nervous because I had to give the Salutatory speech, but it actually went pretty well. I was shaking by the time I was done, but everyone said they couldn't even tell I was nervous. I feel so relieved now that it's over. Luckily my speech was toward the beginning, so then I could just enjoy the rest of the ceremony, which was really nice. Good news about my physics regents too! I managed to pull off a 91%! Another huge relief ^^; I'm glad that high school's over, but it is a little sad too since I probably won't see some (or lots) of my classmates again. I'm gonna miss my teachers a lot too. Hopefully I'll be able to keep in touch with them.

I've been doing some training with the Mission Japan team the last couple of weeks. Last Wednesday we worked on a construction project at church, since we will be doing quite a bit of work at the camp in Japan. I have very little physical strength, so lifting and moving heavy objects for nearly two hours wasn't real easy for me ^^; And the fact that it'll be so hot and humid in Japan isn't very encouraging either. I'm glad we have such great people on the team. They all have such a good sense of humor and are so willing to help that it makes me feel a lot better. The training session before that was much more enjoyable. It was about cultural sensitivity and we went over things you shouldn't do in Japan (ie blowing your nose in public or sitting on tables). Basically we're supposed to be discrete about everything, which shouldn't be hard for me because I already am that way. Unfortunately I'll probably still draw lots of strange looks, since I'm tall with blonde hair (aka not very Asian-looking ^^;). We also went over some useful Japanese words and phrases, and I was glad to find I already knew all of them. And people say you can't learn from anime =P

Well, I'd better stop here before this gets any longer ^^; Have a great weekend!
(P.S. Thanks for the comments on my artwork! ^_^)

   Baccalaureate
I went out to Erie with my parents on Saturday and got to see the movie Cars. It was great! The story is adorable, and all the characters are so funny. There's a hilarious part toward the end where they do parodies of past Disney movies (ie "Toy Car Story"). And the animation is unbelievable. Needless to say, I really liked it ^^ We also did some shopping, and I bought volume 1 of the Prétear manga. I'm already hooked. I've been wanting to read (or watch) it for a long time, and I wasn't disappointed. I haven't really seen any of the anime, but it looks pretty different from the manga. Anyway, it's funny and cute, and the characters are wonderful. Sasame is an instant favorite.

Isn't he adorable? ^___^

Alright, enough of my obsessing ^^;
Baccalaureate for my class was last night. It was a really nice service. I remember going to see my sister's four years ago. It feels so strange to doing all this for myself now! I can hardly believe I'm graduating this week.

I submitted some artwork on Saturday, though I was rather disappointed at the response. Not a single comment. Ouch. Still, thanks much to the few that voted. It is appreciated ^^ My Axel picture is coming along better now. I should be able to start coloring it soon. Well, I need to get to studying for physics (oh joy ¬_¬), so I'd better head out now. Thanks for stopping by! ^_^

   It's all over!
My last day of classes was on Wednesday, which means no more high school for me! I still have to take a physics regents next Thursday though, and then graduation's on Friday. My other finals went pretty well (despite my sleep-deprived condition), so hopefully the physics one will go okay too. It was my hardest class this year though, so I am a bit nervous about it.

The senior class trip was pretty fun, but it was more tiring than anything else. After being on a bus for way too many hours and getting little to no sleep, staying awake in school on Monday was a real challenge. Busch Gardens had a new simulator ride called Curse of DarKastle which was awesome. I don't like roller coasters though, so it was one of the few rides I went on. The beach was pretty nice, and the Washington DC tour was really cool. I've been to Busch Gardens and DC before, but not in a long time, so it was fun to see them again.

I had to draw some pictures for my English final project, so I was thinking I'd submit them here tomorrow. If you get a chance to comment on them, it would be much appreciated ^_^ Other than that, I finally got time yesterday to start my Axel fanart. It's proving to be quite a challenge, since he's got quite a difficult hair style ^^; Plus I just got to a certain part in KH2...yeah, I don't want to give anything away, but those who have played it probably know what I'm talking about.

Well, I need to get working on my salutatory speech now. Ugh >.<
Hope you have a great day! ^_^

   Surprise
I got a very nice surprise from my parents yesterday. As an early graduation present, they got me a cell phone! And a RAZR no less! I was so surprised ^^ They wanted to give it to me now so I could call them while on the class trip.

I found out some more about the trip today, so now I can explain it a bit better. We're having a senior awards ceremony tonight, then leaving a few hours later to head for Virginia. Tomorrow we'll be going to Busch Gardens (where I've been before. It's really awesome ^_^) and then having a pool party at the hotel at night. Saturday we're going to the beach and then going on a night tour of Washington DC. Sunday we have several hours to ourselves in which I'm hoping to stop by the Smithsonian, and then we're heading home. And then I have a precalculus final on Monday. That's gonna go over well ¬_¬ Other than having to study, it sounds like it'll be a fun trip ^_^ I'll miss you guys when I'm gone!

See ya in a few days!

   Tron
After playing through Space Paranoids in KH2, I really wanted to see the movie Tron, and I finally got to last night. My dad recorded it a long time ago. As expected, the special effects are rather dated, but it was a really good movie! It was really fun to see how it related to Kingdom Hearts. KH2 fans should check it out.

Next weekend is my senior trip! We'll be going to Virginia Beach and Washington DC. We're leaving Thursday at midnight and will get back sometime Sunday night. Sounds like it's gonna be fun ^_^ I might update on Thursday, but if not, I'll just tell you about it when I get back. I have at least one final exam and possibly a few more the day after we get back, so I'll probably have to study on the trip. Teachers can be so cruel TT_TT

Speaking of which, I have a huge English project due Wednesday, so I'd better get to work. Have a great weekend!

   Memorial Day
Ohayo! How is everyone? The weather's been so nice lately. It's 80° already and it's only 10 AM. It's about time, it was cold for so long. We finally got our boat out at the dock, so we'll probably go for a ride later. I'm looking forward to it ^^

I went to a birthday party yesterday for my aunt and cousin, and today there's one for my grandpa. It's so nice to have the day off school today ^_^ I have at least three tests next week though, so I'd better not get used to it ¬_¬

Well, I'm off to the parade. Have a great Memorial Day!

   Ceremony
The awards ceremony last Thursday for the valedictorians and salutatorians in the area went really well. It was long, but not as boring as I was afraid it might be. At the beginning a group of 4th and 5th graders came out to sing, and they were great! It must take a lot of patience on a music teacher's part to get such young kids to memorize parts and sing so well. I was really impressed. On a more unpleasant side, neither myself nor the valedictorian from my school were warned that we'd have to introduce ourselves at the microphone and talk about our high school activities and college plans. Naturally I was really nervous, but I survived. And no, Shinkiro, I haven't written my salutatory speech yet. I was just told today what I'm supposed to do for it though, so that's my excuse lol.
There's only a month until graduation, so I'd best get working on that soon ^^;

As I mentioned, the Prom was on Saturday. I was a bit wary of going since dances aren't my thing, but it was pretty fun. I'm glad I went. Yesterday there was a Mission Japan meeting and everything's going fine with that. We bought our plane tickets not too long ago, so that makes it final! I'm so excited to go! ^_^

Thanks for stopping by!

   Happy Mother's Day
I just got back from our usual Mother's Day lunch out with the family. It started storming and hailing on the way back. I love storms so I thought it was fun, but those driving in it probably didn't think so ^^;

I got a pleasant surprise yesterday. My dad got us a digital cable box recently so we could watch the hockey games, and yesterday I found that it comes with Anime Network on demand! It doesn't have full anime series or anything, but it's fun to get to see some episodes from anime's I've never seen before. So far I've only watched DNAngel (which I have seen a little of before) and King of Bandit Jing. I noticed the GetBackers is on there too, so I'm planning on watching some of that today. I'm gonna be glued to the TV now lol.

Let's see, coming up this week, I have to go to a dinner for all the valedictorians and salutatorians in the area on Thursday, and then the Prom is next Saturday. Hard to believe there's only about a month left of high school for me. Can't say I'm too depressed about it though ^^;

Thanks for visiting! Have a great day ^_^

   2000 Visits

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I just reached 2000 visits! Thanks so much to everyone who has dropped by, and congrats to inuyasha311 for being my 2000th visitor! I really appreciate all of the visits and comments from you guys, so again, thank you!! ^__^

I took the AP English Literature test on Thursday. It seemed to go pretty well. It'd be nice if I get a good score because then I'd get college credit. It felt pretty odd though because I was the only one in my class that opted to take it. Needless to say, sitting in a room alone (except for a teacher) for three hours wasn't all that exciting ^^; Something nice happened afterwards though. I was called in to talk to principle and he said I've been officially named the salutatorian of my class! I'm happy, yet nervous at the same time, because now I have to give a speech at graduation. Public speaking scares me to death, so I'm really dreading it. Guess that's what I get for doing my homework lol.

On a last note, I heard some more good news about the Japan trip. I'm not the only girl going now! One of the guys couldn't make it, so now my Pastor's wife is going. She's my Sunday School teacher and praise band leader, so I know her very well. I couldn't have asked for a better person to come along.

Have a great day! ^_^
