As I said, I have next week off of school. And now, due to strong wind and power outages, I got today off as well! The power went out at my house for a minute this morning, but luckily that was all. I'm a little disappointed about school being cancelled (I can't believe I just said that XD) because my art project is at school and I won't be able to work on it over the break. I have some other class projects too, but I think I have everything I need for them. Plus we were going to have a pep rally today, meaning I would get out of some classes, and we probably wouldn't have done much in the other classes anyway. But oh well, I can't complain too much about missing school ^_^;
Have a great day!

New Fanart?
Hello! I did get my snow day last Monday. It was so nice to get a break from school ^_^ And after this week, I'll have a whole week off, for which I am extremely grateful. My snow day gave me some time to draw, so I finally finished a picture I've been working on and submitted it today. It's of one of my original characters, Shinrai Enzeru. Check it out if you have time, I am extrememly appreciative of comments.
I went to see the Pink Panther movie yesterday. I liked the original better, but this one was still really good. Ah yes, you may have noticed I changed my site a bit. Just thought I'd do something for Valentines Day. I drew the picture in my intro. The characters names are Nami and Inazuma. Aren't they cute? XD Sorry it's a bit blurry, the resizing wasn't very friendly to it.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great week and Happy Valentines Day!

Getting Better...
My English presentation went pretty well. Luckily my cold waited until Thursday to get really bad, and I'm happy to say I'm feeling quite a bit better now. Still sick, but the worst is over.
Anyone else watch the season finale of IGPX last night? I thought it was really good. When the show first started I wasn't sure if I would like it or not, but so far it's been excellent. I've been watching some episodes of Martian Successor Nadesico lately too and they are hilarious. I only have the first nine, and so far I've watched through episode four. I would recommend this one, it's a lot of fun.
Guess I'd better get working on some homework now. It's snowing like crazy right now though, so maybe I'll get a snow day tomorrow. Sure would be nice ^_^
Have a great day!

Star Ocean EX / End of the Spear
One of the DVDs I bought last time I was at Media Play was volume one of Star Ocean EX. It only had the first five episodes, but they were great! I've heard mixed reviews about the series, many saying that if you haven't played the game, you won't like the anime. I haven't played the game, but so far I absolutely love the show. I really hope I'll be able to see more of it, but I'll have to wait until prices drop a bit ^^;
On Saturday I saw the movie "End of the Spear" with my parents. It's a true story about a group of Christian missionaries who go to speak to the Waodani tribe in Ecuador. The Waodani are known for being extremely violent and for brutally killing countless people. The movie was really amazing, especially knowing it was a true story. It shows how great things can come of out horrible and tragic situations. I highly recommend this one.
My mom's birthday is tomorrow and we had a party for her yesterday. It was really fun, but unfortunately I came down with a cold. My throat is killing me >.< I just hope I have a voice for my English presentation on Wednesday.
Thanks for visiting!

Half Days
First off, thanks so much to Sesshomarufan, blackwings, Yunet, and inuyasha311 for the encouragement. Your comments were so nice they brought tears to my eyes. I really appreciate your words, and want to thank you for all the support ^__^ I'm feeling quite a bit better now. It's still strange though, how different it feels without Shelby here. My memories of her are good ones though, and I'm very happy that she was with us for so long ^_^
And I'm happy to say I have some time off school! Today and tomorrow are half days, and then Monday is off completely. Today I have to finish a huge project I've been working on for art class and study for a math test, but after school tomorrow I should be able to relax for a bit. At least until I start working on the next English project ^^; Ah well, just half a year left, right?
Have a great day!

I miss her...
My family had to have one of our dogs put to sleep on Saturday. Her name was Shelby, and she had just turned 14 years old on January 14th. It's pretty old for a dog, and she hadn't been doing well for quite a while. We decided to have her put down so she wouldn't have to suffer through it anymore. Even though I'm glad she won't have to deal with the pain anymore, it's still really tough to let go. She's been part of our family since I was a little girl. I miss her so much already, and yet it hasn't entirely hit me that she's gone. We have one other dog, and even she seems sad about it. She's been really quiet since Saturday. I'm very thankful that we had Shelby in our family though. I have lots of great memories growing up with her, and I'm sure I'll never forget her.

I went to the fights and a hockey game broke out!
The Sabres game was awesome! I can easily say it's the best one I've ever been to. The Sabres beat the Kings, 10 to 1! They had scored 3 goals within the first five minutes of the game, when it isn't uncommon to only get that many through an entire game. Also, two players got hat tricks, Hecht and Pominville. Hecht is one of my favorite players, probably 2nd only to Maxim Afinogenov. We had really good seats, just 11 rows up, right behind the goal. Somebody got the wave going and it went around the arena at least four full times. It looked really cool ^^ And, in accordance with the post title, there were also several fights. Peters was certainly a contributor ^_^;
And now, for those of you who couldn't care less about hockey, I'll change the subject ^^; Unfortunate though it is, Media Play will be closing soon and is having major sales. I stopped at the one in Buffalo and couldn't help but buy tons of stuff. I got anime DVDs from Star Ocean Ex, Martian Successor Nadesico, Gundam Seed, and Rurouni Kenshin. I also got a Haro plushie, a Midvalley the Hornfreak action figure, a huge wall hanging of Tamahome and Nakago from Fushigi Yuugi, and an issue of Shonen Jump. My dad estimated that all that was probably worth about $200, and I managed to get it all for $50. Can't turn down a deal like that ^_~ Unfortunately they were out of manga there, but I did get volume 2 of Chrono Crusade at Walden Books. Now I just have to find time to watch/read all of this stuff lol.
Thanks for visiting! Have a great day!

Sabres Game
I'm going to the Sabres game tonight! I'm so excited ^^ We'll be leaving in about an hour to go to Buffalo. The hockey game doesn't start until 7:30, but we're go to go shopping for a while first.
I'm really glad there's no school on Monday. I have a dentist appointment, but I suppose it's worth it as long as there's a day off ^^; Unfortunately, I have a big English presentation on Thursday to get ready for, along with a bunch of other homework. I'm so glad I don't have any mid-terms this year. It's a big help ^_^;
Well, I'd better get going. Have a great weekend!

'Twas Beauty Killed the Beast
Well, the first two days back to school have gone pretty well. Boring as always, but no major complaints. My New Years was nice. I went to my sister's house with my parents on New Years Eve and we played a few games and watched War of the Worlds. It was a good movie. Intense, but good ^_^;
Speaking of intense movies, I saw King Kong on Monday. It was really excellent, but I think some of the scenes on Skull Island were a bit drawn out. Visually, I don't think I've ever seen anything so impressive. It made me cry at the end too ^^; Overall, I liked it a lot. Just a word of warning though: if you don't like bugs, you may want to sit this one out ^^;

Happy New Year!
New Years Eve already! This week has gone by really fast. I don't want to go back to school on Tuesday >.< Well, getting off that subject, I watched Porco Rosso a few nights ago. Like all Studio Ghibli films, it was great! The ending wasn't quite what I was hoping for, but it was still really good. I also bought volume 7 of the Tokyo Mew Mew manga and volume 10 of DNAngel. Both were excellent ^^
I forgot to mention this last time, but my parents got our family tickets to a Buffalo Sabres game on January 14th. It's been so long since I've been to a hockey game. I can't wait to go!
Well, I hope you've all had a great year and may the next be even better!
