They say you have nothing to fear but fear itself..... but what about the monkeys

Whats really going through someones mind when they lick a flagpole... are they thinking that it will taste good, or maybe they are wondering if it is really gonna hurt. And then has anybody noticed that if a kid actually does it then all the kids in the playground run to see what has happened. I know my mother once sat me and my brother down and told us never to lick anything metal in winter..... the next day my brother licked a pole...... the power of suggestion.
