   Satire: version one
Hey peoples, I'm gonna die in my Russian classes this week so I ask for your forgiveness in advance to the updated sites that I fail to visit. Kurama Clone #2 is away on business this week too.

So today is the original satire before I rearanged it into the form you saw last week. If you read both, please tell me which one you like better, funnier, bigger impact, makes the statement.

A Typical Day on MyO

One Friday evening, just like any other day, Person A updated on their site of MyOtaku. It was a very depressing day and it showed in the post submitted right at midnight.

Today totally stinks! I have the flu. My parents won’t stop yelling at each other. Oh man, I think they might get a divorce soon. My brother ran away from home. I hope he’s ok. A stupid car ran over my dog. It doesn’t matter how I try, things are never going to get better. Bah humbug, I don’t even know why I bother telling all of you this stuff. Its not like you guys can really do anything about it either. Sorry today is a short post, but I’m going to think of a painless way to kill myself…goodbye

Then Person A went to bed and slept. The next day Person A decided to go for a jog around the block in the brisk morning air. Person A ran into the brother who explained that he just spent the night at a friend’s. They walked home together and were relieved that their parents had resolved their conflict. After breakfast, they visited the vet, who said that he would be able to save the dog by an expensive surgery. The family then went out to lunch and caught a matinee. Feeling better that evening, Person A went back on the Internet to check up on MyOtaku.

What was found was very stunning! Many had commented, some multiple times, so Person A went to the first comment and read from there:

Feast upon the Word
Well, I don't know what to say this week. ^^; I had a great idea last Sun night, but I forgot it. I suppose I can still share some scriptures and parts of conference. The talks are now in written verision if you want to read a specific talk rather than wathing/listening to all 4 (excluding the Priesthood session) 2hr. sessions. How about I feature a talk from conference this week as well? I really liked the Saturday morning session. Near the end, Elder Russel M. Nelson gave the talk, "Now is the Time to Prepare"

Death is mentioned in the talk. But it is a good thing as well as a sorrowful one. It is hard to part w/ loved ones but there is joy in knowing that we will live again and can be sealed to our families.

I hope those who choose to read this talk do not become paranoid. Its like I learned in my Finance class this week: If an agent gets a man to buy insurance out of fear of dying...it will wear off and drop the plan 4-5 years later. I see this talk as a way of saying its not to late to make changes. Even now, while I still live I can work to improve myself.

I hope to continually become better and better as a person. Even though I am graduating from college in 2 weeks, I hope to be able to continually learn, even if it is outside the traditional sense of going to school.

   RainbowLand and Satires
Refi: I'm sorry guys ;.; our Ethernet is being temporarily cut tomorrow, I'll try, but I may not be able to get on this weekend T_T

Kurama Clone #2: Good, then maybe you won't be sneaking off while you're supposed to do your Values Paper!

Refi: heheh ^^; well...anyway, I’m sorry I haven’t visited and answered everyones request etc. This week has been real hectic! I feel like I’m losing my mind! Well, I’m not sure what to say about the responses for the satire. So many people thought that I was Person A, but I’m not. It’s a collective thing about what I see in many post on MyO…thus the title: “A Typical Day on MyO” For the strangers and friends who told me not to kill myself and are returning to check up on me… I’M NOT GOING TO KILL MYSELF, I HAVE NO INTENTION TOO, THE LAST POST WAS A STORY! ‘k? It was a SATIRE meaning…well, I’ll have the genius in the house explain it…Kurama?

Kurama Clone #2: Um ^^; Well, my expertise is in the scientific world, so I invited Kaito to come and explain it.

Refi: Kaito? -_- Very well

Kaito: Thank you for having me here today, I look forward to the grand feast later especially in the seat of honor.

Refi: oO That’s next to my seat! *looks suspiciously at Kurama* Kur-ra-ma…

Kurama Clone #2: ^^; I had to get him here somehow, in literature his intelligence far surpasses my own. And don’t worry about soul-losing, he has previously promised never to use his powers of Taboo again.

Refi: -_- Great…you know this means that you will be eating up on the chandelier!

Kurama Clone #2: hehheh ^^; *gulp* You may explain now Kaito…

Kaito: Well as Webster would describe it: “1. a literary work in which vices, follies, etc are held up to ridicule and contempt 2. the use of ridicule, sarcasm, etc to attack vices, follies, etc.” Which I feel is a very elementary way to describe it *pushes glasses up nose* in another sense, one may say that it is an overgeneralization and over-exaggeration of life in order to bring to attention to the public and manipulate change out of humiliation.

Refi: -_- Thanks, now I sound like a bad guy! Now people are going to accuse me of being a hypocrite cause I make comments that sound like the ones in the satire too.

Kaito: Well it is an extremely premature piece of work. I would hardly call your ‘satire’ literature.

Refi: *watery eyes* Go easy, it was my first attempt.

Kaito: If that’s what you wish to call it, that is all it is.

Kurama Clone #2: *eyes narrow* Watch it Kaito, you should know better than to bite the hand that feeds you…

Kaito: It’s not my fault she cannot accept criticism.

Kurama Clone #2: Your ‘criticism’ gravely lacks in being constructive.

Kaito: And you, Suichi, would be familiar with criticism?

Refi: Um…anyway, while they discuss that, I first made a version with commentary. I will post it next week sometime (Tuesday-ish) and see if you like that tone better. Also, I recommend looking at the comments on the last post and seeing how many comments were like the ones in my satire…its kinda funny…and…um…its hard for me to think on an empty stomach so let’s eat!

***In the Banquet Hall, you and cartoons eat. Kaito sits by Queen Refinnej ‘discussing’ (more like lecturing on) what a true Satire would be, aggravating Kurama Clone #2 up on the chandelier***

Kaito: …and furthermore there are some satires that you would be more familiar with in your own culture which you should be familiar with…at least if you attended a semi-decent school that had even the most meager of budgets. However, judging on the quality of what you produce, I would have assumed you never attended your literature classes. That is of course unless your teachers never had professional training, which I would doubt since they would not be teaching without proper certification. Kaito: AHHH!!! *flips over the table in horror, covering himself in food and utterly humiliating himself*

Refi: Awww, how sweet…NOW GET DOWN! YOUR HAIR IS GETTING IN MY FOOD!

***As Kaito cleans up, everyone else gets to enjoy the story in the Story Telling Room***

Hiei: Yu…ki…na…?

Yukina: *sees Hiei and Kurama* Oh! I didn’t know that you were both here. That’s good to see some familiar faces.

Rainbow Brite: Welcome to Rainbow Land, Ice Gem! ^_^

*Color kids approach Yukina*

Buddy Blue: *offers handshake* It sure is nice to meet you!

Red Butler: *bows and takes her hand and kisses it* You really are a gem!

Hiei: -_-+++ *thinks: You better watch it, don’t start getting fresh w/ my sister!*

Kris: Yeah, isn’t she special? Now what seems to be the problem, Rainbow?

Rainbow Brite: Well, Black Night over there was missing, but now he’s back and I think he might have been trying to threaten us with something.

Yukina: Black Night? *Yukina and Kris look over at Hiei, where Rainbow is pointing* Is that true?

Hiei: *looks away embarrassed* no

Rainbow Brite: I guess the problem is solved, except for we should provide rooms for all of you to spend the night since it is getting late and you came all this way to help.

Kris: Gee thanks Rainbow! You don’t have to go through all the trouble, you know ^^;

Rainbow Brite: I know ^_^

Canary Yellow: We were going to have a parade tomorrow!

Kris: Really? Fun! But why a parade? Lets throw a whole carnival.

Lala Orange: Can we Rainbow?

Rainbow Brite: Sure! That would be wonderful!

Everyone: YAY!!!

Red Butler: *takes Yukina’s arm* May I have the pleasure of escorting Yukina to her room?

Buddy Blue: Wait! I was about to ask that! >_<

*Red Butler and Buddy Blue begin to argue over who will take Yukina to her room*

Hiei: *raises eyebrow* *thinks: That’s the first time I’ve seen them have an expression like that, and now they’re fighting? Odd for this place.* Don’t they have to prepare the rooms first Kurama?

Kurama: Since they were expecting Stormy, Moonbeam, and Kris to come, they prepared rooms for them while we waited for Rainbow’s return. We just barely started organizing your search party when you showed up. I suppose that they would have Yukina sleep in the same room with Moonbeam and Stormy while Gusty and Sleety will share a room with Kris. The castle doesn’t have that many spare rooms you know.

Hiei: And why, pray tell, are they not required baths first like I was???

Kurama: Well… ^^;

Jin: didaye ear sumtin abut a bath fer everywon? It’d shur bee fune ta splash em ole!

Touya: Too bad I don’t know my way around the castle yet, otherwise I could offer to escort the pretty little ice demon…

Hiei: *glares at Touya* Don’t even think about it. *walks to Yukina and glances at Red and Blue* They seem to be busy, I believe I could show you to your room.

Rainbow Brite: ^_^ Why Black Night! How thoughtful of you! Of course you may!

*Red and Blue stop arguing and stare in shock as Hiei leads Yukina out of the room*

Yukina: This is very thoughtful of you Hiei. It sounds like they gave you another name too.

Hiei: Sadly, yes. *pause* How did you get here?

Yukina: Well *blushes* I heard that my brother might be here…

Hiei: I told you before that he’s dead, why are you still following rumors?

Yukina: *looks down* Well, then I suppose I have my own reasons.

Hiei: *looks over at Yukina in shock then focuses forward again* Still, that doesn’t say how you got here.

Yukina: I was brought here, how did you and Kurama get here?

Hiei: I’m not sure about Kurama, as for me…I just woke up here. I keep hoping that this is all a deranged nightmare.

Yukina: Oh but it can’t be. Things here are too beautiful to not be true!

Hiei: Well, as long as you enjoy it here. But be careful, I don’t want any of those kids to hurt you.

Yukina: Oh Hiei they wouldn’t ever hurt me.

Hiei: I hope your right. *stops in front of a door* I suppose this is the room they would have you in. *opens door and starts to walk to his own room* I’m next door if you need anything.

Yukina: Hiei?

Hiei: *stops cold, w/o turning to look at her* Yes?

Yukina: Will you be at the car-ni-val too? It would be nice to be with someone I know.

Hiei: Why can’t Kurama suffice?

Yukina: Well…I don’t know what it is, but I feel more comfortable when you are around.

Hiei: *eyes grow wide and sweats* …very well, I shall accompany you tomorrow.

Yukina: Thank you, sleep well. *goes into her room*

Hiei: *whispers while looking at the tear gem* you too…

   Contest Results!
Ok, I tried to make some reeeeaaaal kool awards for the contest, but the program I was using is only in the section of the library that closes early (media lab), So participants please be patient with me as I finish them up, I hope to send them to you tomorrow. But everyone need not fear, for I still may tell you the results tonight!!! ^____^

We’ll start it off with one thing that I have completed, a little memorabilia as it were for all the judges and the contestants…please take this token and save it on your computer because the internet version will self destruct in 5…4…3…2…ok, not till Friday.

Even for those who did not participate, I have a few tips. As a whole the judges enjoyed sites that posted once a day and had music that started automatically (mind you once a day is too much for me and I like to stop the music if I want to listen to songs I have on my comp) and self inserts are not too popular. I personally find self inserts enjoyable when I know the characters and they stay in character. Well, since my opinion is different from the judges, I suppose you can’t please everyone ^^; Also pop-ups are nice the first time visiting a site, but later upon return become annoying.

And now for the awards. Well I hope the judges are okay w/ my final say because of difference of opinion (what one would call cluttered, another called very organized etc.) But I was able to dish things out thanks to the say that they put in!

   Spiritual Feast...Literally! ^_^
Oh wow! This weekend was General Conference for my church (This is where The Prophet and Apostles talk to the whole church and we are able to watch through broadcasts and such) It was so good! I don't know what to share!

So hears what I'm gonna do...If you guys have any spiritual questions that I may answer with quotes from talks and scriptures and such. And then secondly...I strongly recomend checking out the talks at www.lds.org you can watch or listen to them in many languages and later this week they can be read too. Here's a direct link to the talks in English. There is so much extraordinary stuff in there, and everyone is entitled to this information!

And now I would like to share another hymn that many of you may be able to recognize. I once did a beautiful arrangement for it in High School choir. As spring comes, take the time to go outside and marvel at the creations that we may enjoy ^_^

Hiei: Cease playing their game. You know very well who I am!

Stormy: I’m sorry ^^; in the bustle I forgot to introduce them. Meet Gusty and Sleety!

Hiei: -_- Again with the names…this is getting out of hand!

Stormy: I must say that Gusty is pretty fast! Don’t tell Starlight, but I think he’d be able to beat him in a race! And Sleety is real good with ice! I’m going to have so much fun this next winter!

   I’m caught in the web and need to cut some strings!
Refi: First of all, I’d like to thank you all for your support on my drawings. To avoid the voting system, I started and DeviantArt account and have so far, everything under scraps, I also submitted things in black&white since some of them looked real cool like that. Sorry if some of the huge views are really huge, I’ll try and go through and shrink all of them if I ever feel like it and have time ^^;

Nextly, I must apologize to all of you, but I am making a change in my life habits, and am trying to cut back on Internet. This means that I will not be visiting everyone’s every time they are updated. All of you are still welcome to visit, read comment, and chat (I have installed a new chatbox that you guys can just chat in while the older one is still reserved for communicating w/ cartoons) and I apologize that I may not return the favor. I will still post Story Time Friday nights and continue Spiritual Feast on Sunday afternoons. Other days may have occasional random post. Monday night I will announce the results for my contest (thank you Mazokuurameshi for also completing the judging), and in exactly one week…

…well, this brings me to my last ‘beef’ as it were. With the new comment system, as it were, I don’t know if I can get used to it. I’m not big on ‘biting the hand that feeds you’ but I think next Wed night I’m gonna try my hand at Satire-ism. It will be my first so the true meaning won’t be as disguised as the literary geniuses of old (Although Gogol’s “The Inspector General” was very blunt) but still a summary of what goes on on MyO. Another thing, they took off my fav greeting w/o warning for me to save it, so I’m not doing any more submissions for this site whatsoever. Not that I did too much before, but…

Yuukichan’s Hiei: *enters* What’s all this nonsense you’re babbling about? All I can say is good ridince!

Kurama Clone #2: He destroyed every last bit of plastic in the room.

Refi: O_O You mean, the school…and the firehouse…and the parking garage…and the bus…and the plane…and the little cars…and the baby carriage…and the letters for the city street…even the stop light???

Kurama Clone #2: *nodding head* v_v Yes, even the street light.

Refi: No-oh-ho!!! T_T What about Sesame Street? Did he get that too?

Kurama Clone #2: …yes…

Refi: And Mr. Happy? And all the other Smiley peoples I got from Arby’s when I was a little kid?

Kurama Clone #2: Them too.

Refi: *falls on clone* Wahaha! Those were collectors items!!!

Yuukichan’s Hiei: I think a little red-head girl may have survived. *shrugs*

Refi: *sniff* Really? The one w/ the ponytail?

Yuukichan’s Hiei: No, the one w/ freckles that is so old it was made out of wood.

Refi: *Runs off to go check damage first hand*

Kurama Clone #2: Um…I suppose that I should entertain the guest and baby-sit Yuukichan’s Hiei now…

Yuukichan’s Hiei: As long as I don’t have to “soborat yagadi vlesuu” anymore. -_-

Kurama Clone #2: Well, we did need berries for the pie.

Yuukichan’s Hiei: -_- I hate pie.

Kurama Clone #2: Oh good, more for me and Refi ^_^

Yuukichan’s Hiei: Oh no you don’t! I collected the berries in the forest I’m gonna be the one to eat them! *leaves for the kitchen*

Refi: *returns to Throne Room* What? Did those slackers leave you guys here all alone? -_- that wasn’t very considerate of them! Oh well, I’ll see you again Friday night, there isn’t much else to say…oh! Except one very VERY important announcement of a very extremely cool club to join which has many beautiful banners to choose from! I LOVE FRUITS BASKET! ^_^ Anyway, here’s my fav banner!

   HAPPY EASTER ^_^
I'd like to wish you all a happy Easter this sunday! ^_^ To celebrate on Otaku, I would like to share some of my favorite Hymns for this time. Its real funny cause I picked them out and then in RS today, those were our opening and closing hymns! I linked a place where you can hear the music for them, I think the music enhances their meanings so much!

We'll start w/ an Easter one:

Easter is my favorite holiday! I love it because of what Christ did for us. He was Resurected 3 days after the crucifixion. And through him, we too may live again after our time here on Earth. I will close with my testimony that I know he lives and share another favorite hymn that wonderfully expresses my feelings:
