Review of anime 3x3 eyes
Review Time. Today lets look at the anime 3x3 Eyes

Value. 4/5

Genre. Action

Rating. 13 years and older.

STORY.

The series is made up of two seperate stories that feature the same main characters.

Story 1: Pai, a young girl, travels to Tokyo searching for Yakumo because of a promise to his father. When she finds him she tells him that she is the last of a race called the Sanjiyan and that she wants to become human. Yakumo's father was helping her when he died and passed the task on to his son. Yakumo flatly refuses but when a strange creature appears in Tokyo he finds himself helping her stop it. During this he becomes mortally wounded and in order to save him Pai makes him her immortal servant, a mu. Despite this he is still reluctant to help her but events teach him otherwise. Against his will he is drawn into a supernatural world for which he is unprepared but it is something that he must face.

Story 2: It is now severall years after the events of story 1. Yakumo is traveling around the world searching for Pai who has disappeard. During his travels he has learned much about the psychic world and is now much stronger than he used to be, both physically and spiritually. When he finally finds her he is shocked to learn that she has lost her memory and her powers appear to be sealed. Yakumo isn't the only one to find her as Pai's ever present enemies are still after her. Running from their enemies they continue to search for the was to make Pai human and while doing so they'll learn more about the Sanjiyan and how they came to their end.

CHRACTERS.

Pai. She is the last remaining Sanjiyan and dispite her youthful appearance she is over 300 years old. You could say that there are 2 personalities in her. There is the "normal" Pai who is sweet, innocent, kind and naive. Then there is the Sanjiyan Pai who appears to be very cold, cruel and distand. Both have the same goals and want to become fully human.

Yakumo. A young man who is trying to make a living in Tokyo. His meeting with Pai is accidental and although he isn't to keen on helping her he soon finds himself no choice. As time goes by he learns more and more about the supernateral and tries his best to become strong enough to not only protect himself but also the people he cares for.

Professor Fujii. Yakumo's father who left for Tibet 4 years ago searching for the legendary Sanjiyanunkara. He actually finds one and promises to help her become human but before he can do this he falls ill and dies.

Sanjiyanunkara. There beings look just like humans only with three eyes. They are repuded to be immortal and have enormous psychic powers.

Wu. These are the servants/guardians of the Sanjiyan and are created by the Sanjiyan by taking the soul of their servant into their own bodies. This grands the servant the power of immortality and the ability to instantly recover from injuries. When the Sanjiyan dies so does the Wu.

Kwai Yan Wang. He was the ruler of the Sanjiyan and Pai's fiancée. He was a naive and kind who slowly turned into a force of pure evil trying to take over the world. He is also known as Shiva (a destuctive god in Hindu legend)

Benares. He is Kwai Yan Wang's Wu and a extremely powerful demon lord. He is very vicious and cruel and wil stop at nothing to free his master.

ART & MUSIC.

Both the art (5/5) and music (5/5) are excellent. I must say that i have a very bad copy and the quality of the picture was very bad and dark sometimes.

VOICE ACTING

The Japanese acting is excellent as usual (5/5). I didn't watch the English dub so i don't know how good or bad it was.

Personal note. This was one of the fist anime's i watched and i was ver glad that i found it in the stores. It is a very good story and also very bloody. Unfortunately for Yakumo the fact that he can't die means that he has to absorb a lot of damage in his fights. So when he is fighting expect to see enough blood flowing to fill a river.

If you have any questions please let me know. Also tips and comments about how i can make this sort of blog better are more than welcome.
