Hawksley Workman
Well, my friend Sebastian called me up the other day it seemed after minutes from returning from the oriental mall where I had impulsively spent the last 20$ I had on some excellent anime: the Kare Kano series. What luck it was that he invited me to a free concert! Hawksley Workman by the way, I can’t say I’d heard much of his stuff before hand. Actually, I can really only say I listen to one of his songs regularly, that song being “striptease”, haha. But then about two minutes later, my friend Kyle called inviting me to the very same concert. I felt very loved, in a friendly way of course as Sebastian and Kyle are my bandmates. I guess Kyle is an alright friend. He made pizza before we went as he just got off from work, that being a pizza place, and he made a vegan pizza -and- he remembered what I like on my pizza. I’m a vegan by the way. Funny how boys always remember when it’s convenient. To thank him, I tried to silently offer him the front seat on the way home but he made such a big deal about it that I got embarrassed and claimed it anyway. But the concert, it was pretty good, considering it was free and everything. But I must say “striptease” was a little bland it lacked that “oomph” kind of, perhaps it was just because I could see him and he wasn’t particularly attractive and when I listen to it on CD, I can imagine he looks like what ever I please. And he was wearing a muscle top and I’m sorry but muscle tops? Shudder, I don’t know why but I just don’t like muscle tops and that kind of turned me off of everything. He was a very capable vocalist though, though he did tend to get a little caught up in his own voice at times. I hope I’m not shallow, now that I think of it; almost all the male musicians I like are attractive. I always used to think it was their musicalness that made them attractive but Hawksley Workman’s music isn’t too bad. Oh no, wait, I forgot; Elliott Smith isn’t very physically attractive and yet he’s one’s of my favourite musicians ever. So nevermind, I think I’m okay. I guess Hawksley just wasn’t that good.
