Heh
March 12, 2006; 12.49AM
So Saturday was probably the worst day I've had in a very long time...
Things aren't too hot. Life fucking sucks. I can only pray that things get better... for it's not in my hands anymore...
Heh, I did something really stupid today...
..and now for some more suiting music.
Goddamn that sounded emo. Oh well.
Making it day-by-day,
Josh

Strawberry-flavored Breakfast Bar
March 11, 2006; 10.42AM
Herro peopre. Once again, it's been awhile. I need to try and get back into the swing of things here.
This theme really needs to go, huh? Yeah, I'm sick of it too, but I'm too lazy to do anything about it *looks Katie's way and coughs* >___>
Anyways. How's life? Life's pretty meh-ish lately. Pretty depressing, heh. I'm not gonna go too much into detail, but I can deal. Don't worry, the day you see Josh go emo is the day I die. I made a pact with one of my friends: if one of us was to ever go emo, the other is to kill them. Plain and simple.
On the lighter side of things, I finally went and bought Fight Night Round 3 Thursday. I got it on Xbox so I can get on Live and own some nubs, yo. By far my favorite sports game ever. Great to get some aggressions out, but a real punching bag would be so much better. They're only $100 at Sears. Sheesh. My neighbor has one that he no longer uses, I think I'll ask him about buying it.
Meh... my gym membership ends on the 24th... I'm pretty sure my dad won't let me get another one. It was the one place that I really looked forward to going to every day. Maybe I can get something worked out... I hope. I just now finally got my bench press back up to 330, I don't want all that hard work to go to waste again.
I'm continuing to host a new song everyday along with my post. Today's: The Black Crowes' She Talks To Angels. It's a great song, one of my favorites. Heh, it reminds me of a few girls that I know..
Anyways. It's time to bounce. I promise to come and comment before the day is over. You have my word.
Keepin' it real,
Josh

Fight Night
March 05, 2006; 11.10AM
Hey guys. Time for my usual way of kicking these things off. Sorry for not updating or commenting. I'm lazy. And I procrastinate. And I'm an ass. A lazy, procrastinating ass. Sounds like trouble to me.
What's up with the three of you who read my post? Not much here. Although I went out last night and had some fajitas, and now my farts smell horrid. No, horrid is an understatement. I could kill a man with a strategically placed fart right about now. Actually, my mom couldn't take a step into my room because of it. She opened ther door and was like "Josh I need.. Oh my God! Did something die in here? It smells soured! *makes a barf noise and shuts the door*" Bahaha. yes. I am proud of my farts today. As any man should be.
Umm. I rented fight Night: Round 3 Thursday, and I haven't been able to put it down since I got it. It's so fucking amazing. Speaking of which, did anyone watch the Cotto-Branco fight last night on HBO? I was disappointed. Damn TKOs. I wanted to see Branco go down. Although I'm glad they stopped it because I'm pretty sure his jaw was broken.
In other news: I can't stop listening to Frank Zappa. He's an amazing musician. I need more Zappa! @__@ His genre is called "Experimental Rock," but you can hear a lot of jazz influences in his music. I think I shall put one of my favorite songs in this post.
Aaaaanyways. Today I'm supposed to head down to River Street at noon to hang out with a band, Liquid Ginger. They're really big down here, for a local band. So I should probably leave soon..
Katie's great, by the way.
Time to get going, I might comment later if you're lucky. Later folks.
Werd to yer mutha (tell her to call me back, please..),
Josh

Hajime no Ippo, righteous.
January 30, 2006; 12.17AM
Yo. Not a whole lots has been up this weekend. I pretty much played Monster Rancher 4 (highly addictive) and hung out with some friends. Oh, and I fixed my bedroom door (the screws holding the hinges in came right out. Sunnova bastards). Umm... I've been watching a lot of Hajime no Ippo lately. This is my third time seeing the series (If you don't know by now, it's my favorite anime).
Hajime no Ippo is by far the best anime I've ever seen. It tells the story of a young school-boy (Ippo) who helps out his mom at their family-run fishing business. Ippo is constantly picked on by bullies at school, until one day he has a run-in with a boxer (Takamura-san) who saves him. The series takes off from here. You instantly fall in love with all of the characters, you're always in for a good laugh, and each episode leaves you on the edge of your seat wanting more.
I know what you all are thinking "Boxing? Yuck." I said the same. But now, boxing is my favorite sport. I have a new-found respect for the sport and boxers themselves. Hell, I'm even considering joining a local gym (this is probably crazy-talk, but I see myself as a pretty fit guy). It's just that inspiring.
Enough of my midnite-ranting about my favorite anime. Time for this cowboy to hit the rack, Jack.
Once again I leave you with Side 2 of Abbey Road, bitches.
Katie is hot sex.
Werd,
Josh

I've got the no car blues *blues guitar riff here*
January 25, 2006; 12.24AM
Hey guys. Sorry for not being around so much lately. Life's been going pretty crappy lately.
Sunday night around 7PM, as I was coming home from a friend's house, I totaled my car. I wasn't at fault, but it still sucks a lot. I'll give you a brief description: a jackass didn't yield to oncoming traffic and pulled out in front of me. I hit him going 55 on his back-passenger side, and he hit the car paralell to me on my right, sending him flying into a ditch.
All three cars were toast. With lots of butter, lots (I'm so lame, I know). I came out fine, although I got a nasty rash on my arm from the airbig, no biggie (they smell like shit). The jackass (as I call him) suffered no injuries, and the third party was all fine, but they all left in an ambulance for some reason (I'm guessing because they're cheapskates and they want some extra money out of this).
Bottom line. I have no car. The car I had wasn't worth too much, but it was a great car and had very low mileage. I'm expecting to get a check for around $4K from the jackass's insurance company for a new car. Wish me luck finding a (good) new car. I'll need it.
In other news: my mother is going to the hospital tomorrow for hernia surgery. That means she'll be in bed for about two weeks, so I'll have some temporary wheels. This is good and bad news. It's good that she's finally getting this procedure done, and it's bad because my mommy's going under the knife :(.
On a lighter note, school's going wonderful (I think.) I've got some pretty fun and easy classes. Oh, and I also have early work release, so I get out every day at 12:25PM for work.
I also have two (TWO!) jobs. Both are pretty cool. I work as a Administrative Assistant at a local electrical company (my uncle owns it, so I got this position easily). I have a pretty easy work schedule, and everyone there is pretty much family to me. So it's all good.
I'm also doing a little tutoring on the side. I'm tutoring this chic from a local private high school in Geometry two days a week. I get $25/h for that (pretty sweet, huh?). I'm thinking of putting an ad in the paper or something for tutoring, I could make some awesome money on the side.
In other good news, February 24-26 I'm going to Atlanta for the State-level Academic Decathalon. I won about three medals (Math-G, Art-B, and Renaissance History-B) at the city level; not too good, not too bad. I have to find some free time to study my ass off before we leave for state. Our coach said that the music teacher was going to teach us theory, so I'm psyched. Oh, and some other teachers are teaching us some other crap, whatever.
Also, Right now I have up an mp3 of the second half of Abbey Road. I know none of y'all like The Beatles, and I'm sure hardly anyone will visit (Much love to everyone who does, this applies to both). So screw all you other bastards and suck it up.
Have a good day everyone.
Mucho Love-o,
Josh

As for a real post..
December 31, 2005; 11.58 PM
Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on much. Well, I haven't been on at all, really. I've got a bunch of free time this morning. So, I'll get around to everyone who updated (I've been up since about 8....). I guess while I'm here I can update everyone on how I've been doing:
Let's see... Christmas. I didn't ask for much from my folks, but I got a good bit (yeah, I'm loved). The majority of which was clothes (which was needed, in my opinion). I got two band shirts, Clapton and The Beatles, but they are waaay too big for me. I also got a few pairs of jeans and a Hendrix hoodie (^_^).
Ooooh! I also got this kickass overdrive pedal (it happened to be the one thing I asked for specifically).
Isn't she a beauty? I tried it out at a local music store and it sounded amazing. It sounds semi-amazing on my crappy amplifier :(
What else? Oh, yes. My folks got me a new cell phone. A Nextel. There are a few upside and downsides to it. As for the pros: it's also one of those anoying walkie-talkies, I get service almost anywhere (most of my friends live in the middle of fucking-nowhere, and it seems that T-Mobile doesn't even reach the boundaries of fucking-nowhere), it has speaker phone, real-tones, and my uncle is still paying for the service (it was my cousin's line, but she got a new phone and line, and they gave me her old line). The cons: the phone is too fracking complicated (although I've gotten everything down by now), my mom told me that I don't have many minutes (fucking-rawr), I'm not sure about what my plan allows, and it's just not my old Nokia! ;_; It's a love-hate relationship. We might work out our differences one day.
Also... I got this awesome Family Guy lighted sign that I, of course, have already hung on my wall. I wish I could take a picture of it! I also got The 40 Year Old Virgin DVD. It's so vulgar, I fucking love it. Ahaha, I've already watched it twice, and the first time I watched it with my mom. I though it would be extremely awkward to watch that with my mom, but surprisingly, it wasn't.
Okay, enough about Christmas! That was like.... weeks ago! Yeah... As for now.. my best bud, Robby, came down from South Carolina for a few days to hang out. So, I've been hanging out with him here and there.
Well, I think I've typed enough. Oh, yes, Happy New Year's Eve everyone! Have a great day all you bast'ids.
Love,
Josh

In the words of the great Richard Pryor: "I Ain't Dead Yet, Muther Fucka!"
Sorry, I haven't been on at all in such a long time. I plan to get back into the myO cycle soon.
Adios.

Josh

*Moment of silence*

John Lennon Remembered
(CBS) John Lennon's murder 25 years ago Thursday was one of those "where were you" moments.
A true rock icon, the former Beatle remains one of the most influential artists of his generation.
As they did the day Lennon was shot, his fans were gathering Thursday in Strawberry Fields in New York's Central Park to remember the working-class hero.
The Early Show co-anchor Harry Smith looked back at Lennon's life and death.
"My mind was reeling, trying to change it, trying to fix it," Lennon friend and photographer Bob Gruen tells Smith. " 'What can we do about it?' and, you know, just the horror of the way it happened, the pointlessness of how it happened."
Though Lennon was regarded as a musical genius, he saw himself as an ordinary working man, Smith says.
In an appearance captured on "The Dick Cavett Show: John & Yoko" DVD, Lennon says, "I'm not an intellectual, I'm not articulate, I'm working-class, and I use few words. I use the words that people around me used when I was a child. I talk like that."
Gruen lived around the corner from Lennon and Yoko Ono's first apartment in New York's Greenwich Village.
"Actually, I met them in their bedroom," he tells Smith. "They spent a lot of time in bed. … They weren't kind of a sit-at-the-desk kind of businesspeople. They were more of a give-instructions-from-the-bed kind of people; a very nice bed, a very big, comfortable bed."
Gruen was there the day Lennon and Ono looked at their first apartment in uptown Manhattan, in the luxury apartment building called "The Dakota."
He says of a photo session he did with them at the time: "John and Yoko particularly liked this session. It really shows the kind of communication and the touching and loving between them. It's one of my favorites of the two of 'em."
Gruen was at the Dakota several years later for the birth of Sean Lennon.
"It was probably the happiest I've ever seen him," he says. "You know, a big, you know, new father smile on his face. John Lennon was a very funny guy. And he put people at ease very quickly. And you'd always have a good laugh whenever you saw him."
Lennon's famous quick wit and improvisation came through in interviews with talk show host Dick Cavett, who tells Smith, "(Lennon) said, 'You know, the whole idea that we're thinking of doing this is 'cause you've got the only halfway intelligent show on television.' And I thought, 'Well isn't that … Now, wait a minute. I've worked all these years to be a halfway intelligent show? Do you suppose we'll ever get higher than that, John?' "
Lennon was also a committed political activist. The FBI wanted him deported on drug charges.
"They're after us because we talk about peace, you know," Lennon remarked to Cavett during the joint appearance with Ono.
Lennon's final day, Smith says, was an eerie microcosm of his entire life.
He had just emerged from five years of seclusion with a new album, and began the morning with a photo session for Rolling Stone magazine. Its cover featured a naked Lennon up against a clothed Ono.
"He just wanted to strip himself naked, bare, and say, 'This is just who I am. I'm just a regular guy, called John,' " says Beatles scholar Marin Lewis.
That afternoon, Lennon gave what would be his final interview to disc jockey Dave Sholin, who was working with engineer Ron Hummel, and spoke of Ono, his love and inspiration.
"Certain times during the interview," Sholin says, "he would look at her and she would look at him, and it was pretty clear what they were saying, just with their eyes. … I'm glad we captured everything. I just wish there was another ending."
During that final interview, Lennon said: "I still believe in love, peace. I still believe in positive thinking. … And I consider that my work won't be finished until I'm dead and buried, and I hope that's a long, long time."
The day ended with a recording session, and Lennon rushed home to see his son, Sean.
At The Dakota, Mark David Chapman was waiting.
"He went into a combat stance, and he fired," says now-retired New York City Police Officer Peter Cullen, who had no idea he was about to be called to an assassination scene.
"A call came over," he says, "Report of possible shots fired at The Dakota."
Five shots, Smith says, that silenced a devoted husband and father, and the voice of a generation.
"That's what John Lennon is," Lewis says, "more than a musician. He's like Martin Luther King: a flawed human being who rose above his own flaws to inspire other people. And you can't ask more of a human being than that."
Mourners in New York will hold a moment of silence Thursday night at 10:50, the time Lennon was shot, and again at 11:15, the time he is believed to have died.
