Greetings again! I hope you all had a relatively good weekend. ^_^ I know I did!
Let's see: I'm gonna recap on just a few things that happened over the weekend.
Well, to start things off, last Friday our boys' and girls' basketball teams had a couple games against our rivals in Sterling, VA. (Sterling, VA is where our "headquarters" church is located: we're just a branch off from them.) Anyway, these games were just practice games for the Sterlingers, so they asked us if we would let our alumni play as well. heehee So you probably can figure what happened next. I as well as a few other more recent alumni got to play in this game. It was so much fun, although I sucked throughout the game. Zippo points for me! lol We lost too...*shakes head* Oh well. We get to play them again in the March, so I'm gonna do some practicing in the meantime...at least I hope so!
Saturday was a busy day. The ladies of our church had a breakfast early in the morning. Our breakfasts typically consist of fruit, bagels, and doughnuts. Mmmm....donuts! lol Nah, I usually eat just fruit and a bagel. Anyway, breakfast was followed by working more on our church's facilities. We've come a long way since a year ago. Last year, I think there was probably just a big hole in the ground, but now there's a building with walls and everything. Now we're working on plumbing and other stuff.
Later that evening, we young adults had our meeting. It was a nice time with most of us there. However, throughout the meeting, the phones kept going off, which was really annoying. It turned out that one of our buddies got into an accident. Curse that black ice! Apparently, he slipped on some black ice and flipped his Pontiac. That's quite the feat: to flip the "wide Pontiac" on it's back. Fortunately, my friend came out scratchless and hung out later that night with us. ^_^ Oh yeah, have you all ever heard of the game called "Sardines"? It's really fun, especially when you involve cars and an empty business park... lol
Finally, Sunday night was a lot of fun. Yesterday was our HQ Pastor's birthday, both his conversion birthday (40 years) as well as his natural birthday (60 years). So, to celebrate the occassion, the young adults of Sterling, some of the high schoolers there, and many others put on skits and speeches for our Pastor. It was a great time. I had no idea that Disney song lyrics were so easy to manipulate and change...lol...actually, it was probably easier said than done! To say the least, it was a great time to be around some of my friends that I don't get to see too often. ^_^
So there you have it: that was my full weekend. Now all I have to look forward to is school. *yay...no, nevermind* I didn't realize I had so much homework that I put aside...whoops! So, I'll hope to visit some of you all. Take care and be safe, all you who snow encumbered! *hugs*
