It's 1:06 in the morning and counting...

Whoo... It's really early, and I should be going to bed. *clock keeps ticking* grrrr.... I'm getting irritable...lol... ><'

So, if you didn't notice... This isn't Bleach! I don't know why, but I was in a "stellar" mood or something. This will just be a temp job. So Bleach will have to wait a tad bit longer.

Oh, I don't want to forget to thank you all for your care and concern about that stroke of depression. Funny thing is, well, it struck once more this week. However, I think see the problem. I guess I hold upon myself too high of a standard at times, and when I don't meet that standard, I beat myself up. Yeah, I know - that's pretty sad. For sure, self-motivation is good, but not to the point of breaking one's self. ...Did that make any sense? lol I swear, my mind's trying to tell me to go to sleep... And it is right! O_O

An African Tale

Ok, so from my last post someone wanted a story about an African experience. I thought that was a good idea, and fortunately, I just heard an amusing one. This is how it goes...

This year, one lady on the missions team had quite the surprise one morning. Anyway, it was the last day of the 2-and-a-half weeks trip. Everyone's getting loaded up on the matatu (ma-ta-TOO), which is sorta like your American bus. Sorta... So before she loads herself and her stuff on the bus, she thought it wise to go to the bathroom first.

Let me remind you all that this is what the bathroom looked like:

Not too bad, right? *rolls eyes* Oh, it's also called the "cho" in Swahili.

In this particular bathroom, she had a window with a ledge above the cho, i.e. the toilet in the ground. Upon the window ledge, she kept her shammpoo, conditioner, razor, etc. there during their stay there. Well, this is where it gets interesting...

Not to be crass, but as she's "going," she notices a hand come through the window. Upon the ledge, she left her disposable razor. It was her last day - it was a disposable razor... Who cares, right? So having this person take her razor was no big deal.

Outside the window, she hears the person using it. "Bah. It's my last day. It's okay," she said to herself. "They must know it's our last day here. No biggie."

Well, to her dismay, the hand pokes itself through the window, only to return the razor back to its original place! O_O *cringes and gags* There's only one question to ask here: How long has this been going on?!?!

Geez. I have no idea how I would react upon witnessing that disturbing account... *gags some more*

My Life So Far

Ok. So life has pretty much been the same thing each day: Get up, go to work, come home, then work at the property, come home and go to sleep. That kind of schedule has been typical since the beginning of May or so. It may not sound like much, but let me tell you it keeps this girly busy!

So this Saturday, instead of working on the church's facilities, I'm going to stay home with my mom and help around the house. It's just time, you know? lol Maybe then, I'll get more time to visit. *crosses fingers*

Work is also going well. So far, this girl and I have been working on the same project for the past week or so. It's so tedious it makes my head hurt. But one of the nice things about the job is that we get treated to lunch once in a while. Today...Yesterday we ate at Chevy's. Ever been there? It's like a Tex-Mex type of place. Pretty good stuff. And the other day, we ate at the Hilton Hotel Acqua restaurant. Food wasn't bad, but the service was a big stinker. Don't go there! (Prices are ridiculous there as well...)

El Fin

Ah. That's pretty much it. I probably babbled too much. *looks at watch* And it's almost 2 in the morning. I had better get some rest! lol Take care everyone! *hugs*
