Hey everyone! I’m doing much better. I think things between my mom and me are much better *yay!* Man, I’ve found some really cool people here at the Otaku! ^_^
Well, I said I’d try to put some pics of my mission’s trip last year there in Kenya. It was an awesome time to spread the gospel!! Now, these pics aren’t extremely exotic, so don’t be expecting people with those huge plates in there bottoms lips and whatnot! lol The pics I have here are just a few of the hundreds I took! I hope you enjoy, and please let me know your thoughts!
*Note: I’m so sorry that these pics are huge! Lol I couldn’t adjust them, so just think of them as being “extra detailed.” Sorry for the inconvenience!
This is our church in Kakamega (‘kaka’ meaning…. and ‘mega’ meaning…. Put them together, and what do you get? …yeah…lol) Oh, and “Karibuni” is Swahili for “Welcome.”
This is the youth group there in Kakamega. Now if you can’t see the “wuzungu” (white people), then please check your eyes! O_O
This is the Pastor and his wife of the Kakamega church. Yeah, I’m that little Asian girl there…I think I’m the 2nd yellow/Asian person they’ve ever seen! Lol
This was the team I was part of. We had a pretty big senior class that year: our team with adults consisted of 25+ people or so.
This is what our team squished in. You can see how cramped we were by the above pic! Kinda reminds of that jingle…”Oh, I wish I were an Oscar Meyer …hotdog…or something…lol
We had pretty good food there too. Nothing too strange or exotic! But some of the guys on the team were tricked into eating “GOAT – HEAD SOUP” !! That was hilarious!
And I had to include this pic. This was our “toilet.” Yes, squat and... yeah, you get the picture! lol
