Past: Was the only child of two Soul Reapers, Shirotori Horaji of the 11th Division and Yuzuyu Umasada of the fifth division. They were both killed by a Hollow while she was very young, and she was taken in by Ayumi Rengeko, who took her to the human world.

In the human world, the two met the newly orphaned Reiko Sado and took her in as well. The three girls became like sisters, and Sarako and Reiko eventually entered school. There, Sarako met Kasumi Lumina and Yasutora Sado.

She briefly returned to the soul Society, where she met Gin Ichimaru and became romantically attatched to him. She also received her sword, and managed to reach Bankai in an ungodly short amount of time Shortly afterwards, the Bleach series began.

Marries Chad at the age of 22, and not long after has her first child, Yuriko ^_^

She becomes a housewife and stay-at-home mom, but maintains her temper, and keeps Akado around her waist at all times. She also improved her cooking with Orihime's help. When Yuriko was three, Chad was killed by an unknown warrior, and Sarako took care of Yuriko on her own for a year, supporting her daughter by taking a job at the Kurosaki Clinic.
A year after her husband's death, Sarako was sitting at home when someone knocked on the door. She got up and answered it, and found Gin on her doorstep. "I've given you a year to get oyur affairs in order, Sarako-chan. Now, come with me, Darling." he said. She stepped away, only to be grabbed and dragged into the Soul Society by Gin, whom she later realized killed Chad.
She was forced into marriage, and also forced to stay within the Soul Society. During her stay in the Soul Society, she bore Gin a daughter, Watashi-no-Mono-no-Mottomo-Nikushimi-Ko, meaning Most Hated Child of Mine, called Wata-chan by everyone but her mother.

By Shufumei's timeline, she is still being kept by her husband Gin, in a locked room in a tower.
