So Alike in Such Different Worlds...
Yamitsuki stood, staring at everyone as they did what they did through her window. They were so happy, so carefree. They took it for granted. She sighed and looked down. Her room was a prison. It was plush and all any girl could want, but it was a prison to her. It kept her locked inside, even if she could leave. She closed the blue curtains and shook her head. She could do whatever, and nothing happened. She should be dead, but she lived. Yamitsuki resented that. Why should she still be alive, only to die? She slowly grabbed a kunai, and set it to her palm. She cut deeply, black blood oozing. But she didn't die. She kept bleeding onto the red carpet she kneeled upon. She shed a silent tear. Not for the pain in her hand, but in her heart. "Yamitsuki-sama..."
Yamitsuki jumped, startled. Yashako stood behind her, puzzled. "Lord Kazekage..." she said coldly. Yashako could remember. He remembered when he tried that. He failed. He was stopped, not by sand, but sister.
"Yasha-kun... What will that achieve?" the red-haired girl asked. Yashako was crying. It was the same as before. People hurt because of him. Ane-chan was bleeding because of him. He looked into her deep black eyes. They showed pain, but it wasn't physical. "I'm hurt because" "Of *hic* me!" Yashako said. "No. Hn?" she looked closely at him. "No need to cry." she said, half-laughing. She bent down and hugged him close. "Every time you are hurt, I feel it a thousand times worse, Yasha." she whispered. "Why, Ane-chan?" "Because when you get hurt, it means I failed as a sister. It means I could not protect my Little Brother." she said.
"Uzumaki-sama... Don't do that. It hurts.". Yamitsuki glared. "It never hurts anymore!" "It... hurts me." Yashako said. Yamitsuki looked up at him. He started to bandage the wound. She looked into his green eyes. "Why?"
"Because, almost a year ago, a girl that I hurt badly, a girl who's dream I stole away so violently, came to me as soon as she could get up, and she forgave me when I neither asked for it nor deserved it. She promised to save me. She said she would let me be free, teach me how to laugh and smile and play and love. Teach me to live a life I could call my own and no one else's. She promised to make me normal and free me from a demon. She promised me so much, asking for nothing, absolutely nothing, in return. She gave me so much without complaining or giving up. She never gave up helping others. She's totally selfless, and would give up her dream if someone she cared about asked her to." he said, holding her small, pale hand in his.
Yamitsuki looked into his eyes once more, more deeply this time. She saw where once a Demon ruled to cause msery and strife, there was now a kind, strong young man who truly cared. Yamitsuki smiled at that. "What happened to the girl?" she asked quietly.
"She got healed. She became a great Ninja. She and the boy began to fade. She saw herself as a weapon of destruction who must seal herself away to help others. The boy became a great Kage. They saw each other a few times, yet the girl would be mad at the boy for turning to cruelty." Yashako looked down and spoke slowly. "The boy would always be hurt by that. Soon, he could not even hear her name without pain. One day, he came to visit the girl, and he saw she was hurt. He helped her, and told her a story." Yashako looked up to see Yamitsuki crying. "I know... How it ends..." she said. "Th...The girl says she's sorry, and she'll never be so hard again. Sh... She'll say that she'll accept the boys faults, because he can't control them...And she'll hope the boy will forgive her... For acting that way... If she promises t... to never do it again. Sh... she wants the boy to know she cares more than any word's will say, and she always will... She's sorry for being so judgemental and hot-tempered..." Yashako stared.
"The boy will finally cave and forgive the Hot-tempered, Judgemental girl. He will thank her everyday, and be nicer for her and her friends. He'll stop lashing out at her and blaming her for all the shit in the world that hits his fan." Yamitsuki held onto him like a drowning man grasps a life preserver. "I'M SORRY!" she sobbed. Yashako hugged her tightly, not letting go for a few hours.
That's the way they were found, Yashako and Yamitsuki. Fast asleep in each others arms as the rain fell softly outside. They heard nothing, except the beating of their hearts. They saw nothing, save but for the others beautiful face. They saw how, even when one hides behind laughter and training and the other anger and killing, they are alike. They are bound not to die. They resent that. Now they never want to die. They never want to be apart. They never realized how they were so alike in such different worlds.
