I’m sorry I must leave you
on this cold winter’s day

The wind is setting me off
onto another way

The songbirds call my name
and then they rest to pray

Think of me every night
when I am far away

The fragrance of the ocean
the warm scent of the bay

I wipe my eyes form tears
on this morn so gray
I do not want to leave you
I wish that I could stay.

The memories we keep
as little children in play
I do not want to leave you
I wish that I could stay

The pillow becomes wetter
from the tears that have been lay
I do not want to leave you
I wish that I could stay

I’ll always be in your hearts
to tell you everything will be okay
I do not wish to leave you

All the summers that we’ve shared
the days so bright and gay
