Warning: games can kill you.

For the second time this month, there's a report of a death linked to a marathon gaming session. According to a report cited on Blue's News, the new incident occurred last Thursday in an Internet café in Taiwan, where a 27-year-old man played games for 32 hours before collapsing. Police said the man died from exhaustion as a result of having stayed in the same position too long. 2885104Earlier this month , a 24-year old in South Korea died after playing games for 86 hours in an Internet café. Another incindent: A 28-year-old South Korean man who began a marathon online gaming session August 3 died just after 50 hours of nearly nonstop gaming, according to a Reuters report. Identified by authorities only by his surname of Lee, the man only left his online battle simulation games to go to the bathroom and to take short naps on a makeshift bed. Lee had apparently quit his job recently to play more games. The cause of death was presumed to be heart failure stemming from exhaustion. The event is sadly reminiscent of previous gaming marathon deaths in South Korea and Taiwan.

Video games: why do we play them?

Okay now we all have video games and consoles, but why do we play em? My stepfather says playing video games only makes you stupider and everytime me or someone else I know makes a mistake or accident he flames us on how video games will make us make more and more mistakes. Now I'm not asking on how to respond to my stepfather because he is always right and he has me scared to touch a controller. But back to the point, we all play video games for our entertainment, but is it pointless? Do we become stupider through excessive play? Are we wasting money on stuff that'll do this to us? I just wanna know what everyone else thinks.
