Poetry Corner...
THE BEAST WITHIN
An untameable beast within me sleeps,
Straining hard against the clutches of my mind,
Trying endlessly to break free,
Yet even though i fight,
This clever trickster is no match for me,
As it bewitches me with its power...its strength,
It is triggered by emotion,
A mood so strong, so menacing,
Its greedy mouth feeding upon my boiling anger,
Straining...Struggling, slowly breaking free,
Unleashing its supernatural forces,
I am now smiting those who have betrayed me, neglected me,
Yet i am not conscious at the time,
My mind, body and soul possessed,
Hands now stained with crimson blood,
Releasing the knives as they fall with a thud,
Now that the beast within is satisfied,
Pleased with its wretched actions,
It retrieves to the mind, the cage,
To reside in wait until the feeling overpowers me again.
