I'm back!
I felt sick today so I didn't go to school.
And So sorry I haven't been on. My friend gave me Sonic and Knuckles for my genesis and I got so caught up in it, esp. since I've hooked it up to Sonic 3 so it's one giant game! I got Hyper Sonic, Super Tails (need to finish the Super Tails game though) and I need to start playing my knuckles game again.
Anyway, Saturday I was supposed to go camping with my church's youth group, but due to the weather ?? we didn't (What was bad about the weather? It was sunnny and nice) So we went Laser Tag instead. It was awesome.
Q. Was there any event you were really looking forward to got cancelled because they THOUGHT conditions weren't right, but it turns out they still could have held it?
I made it an broke the curse!
so, our family has been cursed. Whenever once of us would try out for Drum Major, we never make it.
But guess who became a drum major?
Actually, I'm only a substitute, but that's more than wht my brother an sister can say. Good news is that if we make all 4 parades, the 4th one the subs get to lead the band. If one of the real drum majors get sick I get pulled in. Good news, I can still play, and still be considered a drum major. It's a win/win situation!

So there's this ad on the top of my site....
and it looked cool so I checked it out. It's called "Comic Party" and it's an anime about the people who are obsessed with anime and manga and cosplays whenever they can. People like...us. It seemed interesting and I was wondering if anyone has seen it and if they would recommend it

Well tomorrow is the begining of the end
end of the school year that is! Handing in band uniforms, music, and drum roll please....
TRYOUTS FOR DRUM MAJOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got a nice whistle, and I found a stick to practice with until they give me the baton.
Well, our biographies were due today, which i thought was due next week :-O
and.......
sonic and knuckles!
My friend says he'll let me borrow his copy for the summer :-D!!!!!
For those who don't know much about the GOOD game consoles, and therefore don't know much about Sega Genesis or the original (the good) sonic the hedgehog, Sonic and Knuckles is the ultimate sonic game. It locks on to any previous Sonic Game, and lets' you play a differnt special stage in that game, and let's you play as knuckles in that game (which won't have knuckles in it at all unless you do that.)
Sonic and Knuckles can be stand alone, or if you hook it on to Sonic 3, you complete the whole sonic 3 game, so I'm really excited about getting it :-)
School was ok.
You see, in music class, we're in the piano lab playing a song called "Dust in the Wind"
Now I hate this song, I hate being told "We all are just dust in the wind." So everytime I play it it make me depressed, so finally today after a week of playing it, my friend asked me what is wrong, so I tell him, and he starts singing it, laughing, so I cover my ears yelling at the top of my lungs "I wanna have the same last dream again/the one where I wake up and I'm alive..." to get me uplifted, and he's like "Ohmigahd! You know that band and here I am thinking I was the only one who listens to them! He asks me about Rooftops and I'm like Yeah, I made an avatar fan vid on it.
so I'm back!
Yes, and here's today and yesterday's recap
So yesterday, our plans to go to NYC got reduced...a lot. First it was reduced to going to Water Gap to go hiking, which would have been fine even though it was going to be an 8 mile hike. But then, due to that dad and I had to go mother's day shopping we just went out to Bucco De Pippa's Which is a family style Italian restaurant. Everything you order is for 2 or more people, and the food is amazing. Of course you will bring home leftovers (guess what we'll be eating for supper and lunch all this week) It was fun.
Today, after I posted the first post I went to make Mom breakfast. Fruit-tarts. Basically you take the Pillsbury busicut dough in those pop cans, and you flatten them, put jelly/preservatives/jam in them and fold them over, and you get what looks like a pirogi, but filled with fruit stuff instead of potatoes.
Now all I had to do was put them into the oven and wait for them to bake.
They exploded.
Half of the tarts barely had any jelly inside of them, but coated the outside instead.
Mother's Day Breakfast was ruined. But everyone liked it anyway.
We went to church and heard Pastor Roan's stories about his mother (he tells us one every mother's day during his sermon)
We went to my dad's mom's house, and visited her and had a big spaghetti (not again!!) dinner. After that we went to my mom's mom's house where we had sandwiches. (she knew how big of a dinner we just had, so she didn't bother cooking)
Well that was my mother's day.
Q. Have you ever tried cooking something and ended up ruining it instead?
My answer:
a few times...most recently the fruit tarts, and last week I tried making crab Alfredo, and burnt the crab AND the alfredo sauce!

Sorry I haven't been on in a while
I didn't feel like being social for the past week...I'll explain later
Let's see my week:
Monday: the second to last chess club meeting :-(
Tuesday: was called an a-hole by someone I used to consider a friend. He has been mean to me during the last quarter, but normally I could shrug it off, however this time, I asked to change my lunch seat. (We had to sit in the same spots we were in since the first day...which was next to him) Also- last orchestra practice. We listened to the tapes of us and the judges comments during the band trip
Wednesday: that same kid started saying stuff about my friends. Blew up in his face. He's lucky I didn't give him a black eye. Last Band practice. Same thing as orchestra practice. Today was going to be our last risk club (a.k.a chess club) meeting, however due to parent meetings was moved to friday
Thursday: Went to MY sisters very last band concert. She is a senior this year, and even though she was sick, she went. After the Stars and Stripes Forever (which, according to the program, was supposed to be the last song) Mr. Moran (the High School Band Director) decided to have them play "The Instant Concert" which was 2 lines of every song that's normally played at concerts. (i.e. They played The British Grenadiers then went to Jingle Bells then went to the Can-Can then went to Starts and Stripes then went to Sleigh Ride then went to this one, which I forget the name of but is very familiar)
After that Surprise Concert, they started playing a song, which I really don't know the real name of but they call it "Easton" This is because they play it during football games, however they stole it from Easton. It's a nice song, and during the begging while the percussin and lower brass are doing their thing, the other musicians swing their instruments forward and saying "Whoo!" and once they start playing they swing their instruments right then left then right then left etc. until they go back to just the percussion and lower brass and then the other musicians once again swing their instruments forward and saying "Whoo!"
That last song wasn't plan and Mr. Moran yelled at them for playing it, but everyone loved it.
Friday: last risk club meeting. One of my friends says he'll have it at his house, possibly even through summer vacation :-)
Saturday: Tomorrow I'm going someplace with my dad, possibly New York City. Can't wait!
Sunday: The Usual (Church, Grandparent's house)
That was my week and going to be my weekend. As you can see because of what happened Tuesday and Wednesday, I didn't feel like doing anything social. Basically, I just played Sonic the Hedgehog. (The originals for my Sega Genesis) A game that requires no thinking what-so-ever, a game that I didn't need to talk to other people or anything.
Oh yeah, next year is my 8th grade year, last year in the Middle School.
So I;m faced with a dilemma...a few actually.
First Dilemma:
Spirit of Bethlehem (S.O.B)
-or-
Harmonium
S.O.B replaces the Social Studies Class. It is a Community Service program, which my brother did. It seems like a lot of fun, and a lot of help, not only to yourself but the community. You see a lot of all around better people leave the Middle School after they took S.O.B
Harmonium is a performing arts program. I forget if it takes up your whole curriculum like Nature Quest or Monogacci does for 7th grade, 0r if it just takes up your elective space during the day.
There's 3 classes and you can't be in more than 2. 1. Instumental 2. Vocal 3. Guitar.
If I join I'm only gonna do Instrumental, I can't sing well, and I can't play guitar well (even though you don't need any experience)
My sister was in it and she had a lot of fun, and she says that everyone became like family. I would like that, plus I LOVE playing my oboe and saxophone.
But I can't decide!!!!!!!!!!
Dilemma 2:
If I don't join Harmonium, whether or not I get in S.O.B, I still have to pick electives...which actually, I already did. Oops, I guess it's not a dilemma anymore. I can only be in 2 electives even though they want to you put 5 down on the paper.
Here's my list
1. Theater
2. Drawing
3. Photography
4. Engineering Concepts through Creative Car Desgin (what a long name...can't fit on the line!)
5. Pen and Ink Drawing.
If I get in Harmonium I can't do electives, however if I'm in S.O.B or in the regular curriculum I still have to pick them, if not they get picked for me.
Also as an 8th grade Band Member...
Band Officers!
There's:
Drum Major
President
Vice Pres.
Secretary
Treasurer
For Pres, Vise, Secretary, and Treasurer, those officers are elected next school year.
However Drum Majors have to tryout. If I don't make it, I'm running for band president. I have to get a whistle.
I'm back!
I can't stay on long...I'm super tired, and wish to go to bed early, so once again I might not get to everyone's site. I'm sorry :-(
Well let's see Friday I woke up at 4 am and left for Baltimore. We went to the Naval Academy in Annapolis and we saw the Marine Corps Band a.k.a The President's Own. (In other words this is the same band that plays for the president for all special events)
We went to Medieval Times that night. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a restuaurant where they serve you medieval food and you have to eat like your in the medieval times (in other words, they don't give you silverware to eat with) And as you're eating, you get to see a show. Basically they show off horses, falcons, and finally, jousting and sword fighting. It was awesome. The dining area is an arena, and everyone sits in different sections, and there's a knight for every section. We sat in the Black and White section. Unfortunately, the black and white knight didn't win and the green knight (curse his name) didn't spare him. :-(
I didn't sleep much during at the hotel.
Saturday
Woke up early
Checked into breakfast for attendance
ate breakfast
changed into uniform
went onto the bus to go to the high school in Washington D.C
Got out my oboe
Got into my concert band seat
Played Intrada
Played Danse Jubilante
Played Light Calvary Overture
Got into Orchestra seat
Played Barber of Seville
Played Eden Ridge
Played Orpheus in the Underworld
ran outside to the truck
Put my oboe away
got out saxophone
ran inside to get to stage band seat
played Evil Ways
played Moondance
played Rock This Town
got outside
got into marching position
marched onto the track
marched and played Magnificent 7
marched and played Manhattan Beach
marched off the track
got our instruments back into the cases and onto the truck
got onto the bus and went to 6 Flags America
went on every ride except Mind Eraser (which I heard was pretty good, but we couldn't get there in time)
and Bat wing (which was closed)
We went on Superman which was supposed to be even higher than Steel Force. Man was it fun!
We went on this ride called "Wild One" which was very fun. We went on it 10 times!
We went on this ride called Two-Face which the seats faced each other. The ride gets pulled up so some people go backwards and other forward. Then it drops you so that the people who went backwards are no going forward and vise versa. You went over loops and stuff then you go up another slope then it drops you so once again the people are now facing backwards go forward and vise versa. Then you go over the loops again and go back up the first hill, and then you go down so everyone reversed again, but they gently take you down and stop you at the station to get off. Man was it fun!
At the Amphitheater, was were the awards ceremony was held. We won 1st place in Concert Band which was a surprise because we won 4th place last year. We also won in Marching Band, Stage Band, and Orchestra, but I forget what our standings was. Last year all our ratings were Superior (except our concert band which was only excellent) But this year our highest rating was excellent and most of it was only good. :-(
Man it was fun. So many inside jokes (or were they OUTSIDE jokes?)So much laughter. I had a dream the night in the hotel, and I really want to fulfill it. Look out for a Rent video on youtube by RandomAvatarFan
So 66% of people who have voted in my poll said Avatar, so I'm gonna go look for one. I'll make sure I change the text color accordingly this time :-P
