so I'm back!
Yes, and here's today and yesterday's recap
So yesterday, our plans to go to NYC got reduced...a lot. First it was reduced to going to Water Gap to go hiking, which would have been fine even though it was going to be an 8 mile hike. But then, due to that dad and I had to go mother's day shopping we just went out to Bucco De Pippa's Which is a family style Italian restaurant. Everything you order is for 2 or more people, and the food is amazing. Of course you will bring home leftovers (guess what we'll be eating for supper and lunch all this week) It was fun.
Today, after I posted the first post I went to make Mom breakfast. Fruit-tarts. Basically you take the Pillsbury busicut dough in those pop cans, and you flatten them, put jelly/preservatives/jam in them and fold them over, and you get what looks like a pirogi, but filled with fruit stuff instead of potatoes.
Now all I had to do was put them into the oven and wait for them to bake.
They exploded.
Half of the tarts barely had any jelly inside of them, but coated the outside instead.
Mother's Day Breakfast was ruined. But everyone liked it anyway.
We went to church and heard Pastor Roan's stories about his mother (he tells us one every mother's day during his sermon)
We went to my dad's mom's house, and visited her and had a big spaghetti (not again!!) dinner. After that we went to my mom's mom's house where we had sandwiches. (she knew how big of a dinner we just had, so she didn't bother cooking)
Well that was my mother's day.
Q. Have you ever tried cooking something and ended up ruining it instead?
My answer:
a few times...most recently the fruit tarts, and last week I tried making crab Alfredo, and burnt the crab AND the alfredo sauce!
