Well... We won! Took two out of three games against the only team we've ever lost to... Oh my god, it was SO close. I'm serious. The game ended 18-16. For those of you who don't know, volleyball games go up to 15 points, and you have to win by at least two points.
Anyway, I was nervous as hell. I was completely frazzled... I did okay at the start, but things started to get worse... I was getting so shaky, I couldn't even hold my hand up while I was at the net before moving back...
I was this close to asking Ms. Brace to sub me out... But I changed my mind, and decided if we were to go down, we'd go with one hell of a fight.
Surprisingly, I was able to get up to serve... And then, I did it! I got the three we needed to win. Those two seconds where my hand was moving to serve, everyone was on the edge of their seats and the air was thick with anticipation and rattled nerves.
And I hit it... It went over... And they hit it into the net! Oh my god, I screamed so loudly, and Mikaela and Jennifer tackled me from behind. We moved to the back line, shook hands with the other team, and then, we all cheered. I swung Katrina around, and everyone celebrated in their own way. Suddenly, Ms. Brace called us over to get into a small little group.
And she was crying. She said she was so incredibly proud of how we did. We all finished it off with a Wolfe! Wolfe! Wolfe! TEAMWORK! I ran up to my grandma and gave her a hug. She was crying because she was so happy for me. Then, I got tackled by Mikaela again. She told me how good of a job I did and I said "Thank you." and turned around.
The next thing that happened made my day. And that isn't an understatement. Christina walked up to me and said "You're an amazing person... You played so well." I immediately hugged her, because no one had ever said something so nice to me before...
As I was leaving, I stopped Coach Bollan. And I told her "I'm so happy... It's all over now... I kept my vow." And I began to bawl.
For those of you who haven't known, my aunt and my grandpa died earlier this month and everytime I've played, my mind has wandered back to them. That's why I could never concentrate. I vowed to myself that I would put my heart into the game today. And I kept that vow. I truly did...
*giggles* I actually gave it a name... Tsuki Hikari Yakusoku... I'm pretty sure that means Moon Light Promise.
I'm just so happy... It's finally over.
Well, anyway, there's Jazz Band practice tomorrow... I play alto saxaphone. I'm not very good at it... (Now that's an understatement)I've been teaching myself to play. I'm not that bad, but I just have this horrible fear of playing too loudly and getting Mr. DiMaria's attention...
Oh yeah, scheduling for high school starts tomorrow! I'm not exactly sure what I'm taking... But I have a vague idea at the moment... Of course I'll take the classes that are mandatory... I think I'm going to be in Geometry... And I just need to figure out which band I'm in... (Varsity or Concert/Marching) I think for electives, I'm going to choose Band, Public Speaking, and probably a computer class... I'm really interested in a career pathway that involves business management and technology...
Ack! I have to go finish this science project and I have to finish my algebra homework... *sigh*
For anyone who has read this far, I thank you.
Love ya!
