THE ADVENTURES OF WEAVER Chapter Seven. Love, Compasion, Adevnture, and the rising sun
Weaver walked through the forest towards his house, and his heart hung heavy with Omen's death. However, he could not go back on his word now. He would go back home, pack up a few more things, and leave before the sun rose. He reached his house, and griped his hands around the door handle. He opened the door, and was surprised.

Essence was deep asleep in his bed.

Weaver silently approached the bed on tip toe, and knelt beside the bed. Her shimmering hazel brown hair covered her face lightly. But not enough to hide her beautiful face. Weaver bought is face closer to hers, and slowly pulled her hair back as if it were a curtain, hiding the most beloved thing close to him. His face was so close to hers now, that he felt her breath on his skin. Weaver noticed Essence was almost crying, and the tears were just seeping through her eyelids. Weaver took his finger, and wiped the liquid crystals of emotion from her eyes, and licked them from his finger.

Weaver moved away from Essence, and looked over at the wall. There, he saw a map of all that had been drawn of the world so far. The signature at the corner of the map was Omen Gaia. Weaver's heart felt drowned by tears once again, but took the map, and put it away in his backpack.

The night still veiled the sun, and Weaver decided to leave. However, when he reached the door, he looked back at Essence again. She was now, the only one who knew Weaver so deeply, and yet, he was about to turn his back on everything he had achieved in 150 years. He couldn't walk away from that so easily. He walked back towards the bed, climbed under the covers, wrapped his arm around the woman he loved, and watched her sleep.

Hours passed like days, before the night slowly got brighter, and much as he didn't want to leave, he had to keep his promise. Slowly, he moved his face towards hers once more, and did not stop until his lips touched hers. Although she could not return the kiss, he still felt the compassion and commitment that seemed to radiate from Essence whenever she was around Weaver. Slowly, he broke away from the gentle kiss and shed a tear, which rolled of onto Essence's eyelid. Weaver picked up his things, took one last look at Essence, and turned to the door. He then left.

Weaver ran as fast as he could through the forest, until he reached the coast. The sun had just risen above the sea, and Weaver felt the warmth of the sun for the first time after awaking from the abyss. Weaver then noticed a small ship which had a sail prepared. The wind was blowing north, and there was nothing to stop him. He approached d the boat

"Did you really think you would be able to leave without saying goodbye to me?"

Weaver turned around quickly, and to his surprise, saw Essence standing behind him

"H-How!?"

"I’m an elf too. I know this forest a little better than you. And the trees told me you were heading towards the coast."

"Essence..."

"I know. You have to leave. Don’t worry. I won't try to stop you"

"That’s not what I’m worried about"

"What do you mean?"

"Essence. I know you love me. But I can't have you following me. Please promose me. No matter what heart ache you experience while I’m gone, you will not come and find me."

"Weaver, I can't..."

"Please!"

Weaver took her hand, and held it to his heart.

"Do you feel how scared I am that you might follow me?"

Essence felt his heart beating rapidly.

"Weaver, I can defend myself."

"No!"

Weaver and Essence locked eyes for a moment

"...no. please. your all i have left."

Essence held Weaver's hand to her heart

"...I understand Weaver. I can't promise you, but I will do my best to follow your wishes."

Essence felt Weaver's heart beating in time with hers.

"Essence..."

Essence held her finger over Weaver's lips

"No goodbye's please...just promise me you'll return"

"...Essence, I swear, I will return. not for Jaylew. For you."

They stared at each other for a moment again, and then, at the same time, bought there lips together, and kissed. The warmth of the rising sun helped to hold back the tears, and only love was felt. Something of gain and nothing of loss. It was the perfect goodbye kiss.

Eventually, Weaver broke away, and turned to the boat. He pushed it out into the sea, and climbed into the boat. He turned his head around back the shore.

"Essence! If I promise anything, this is what I promise! I promise I will return for you!"

"I know you will Weaver!"

Essence ran out to sea as far as her legs would take her.The wind began to carry Weaver further and further away, until he disappeared over the horizon, and Essence stood in the unforgiving sea that had taken her lover away from her. as sad as she felt, she did not shed a tear of any sort.

"I know you will Weaver..."
