okay. why do we read?
i was sitting in a cafe reading one of my mangas, and then the waitress came up to me and said
"hey. whatcha readin' for?"
not, 'what are you reading?'
but, 'what are you reading...for'
isn't that like the dumbest question ayone has ever asked you?
"well, damn it you got me there! hmmm...why DO i read? well, i guess theres plenty of reasons why i read, but i think the biggest one is...
so that i don't end up becoming a fucking waitress..."
and THEN, this trucker gets out of his chair from behind me, and say,
"well, looks like we got ourselfs a 'reader'"
"what the fucks going on? its not like i turned up at a matalica concert dressed in a boy george outfit, its a BOOK FOR CHRIST SAKE!
oh well, such is the way of my wierd encounters with the wrong human beings.
thank you everyone who posted yesterday. just so you know, none of my bones are broken, but i had to get stiches in my chin after being kicked in the face. other than that, a few cuts and bruses, but nothing that should slow me down.
