Part two of the update...
So... my personal life. Let's see... I've accepted admission to the Colorado School of Mines beginning fall of 2004. My experince in my field of choice will start sooner though - I'm working at my uncle's engineering firm over the summer. Enough about the future though.

Late late Friday night I received a call whilst I was at work - seems one of my best friends had a fight with her mother about her boyfriend. When she first called she was carefully guarding aural signs of her emotions, though her diction made it obvious something was amiss. When I returned her call after I left work, she was, well, not sobbing, but wasn't too far from it. I offered to come over to talk to her instead of by phone - it seemed to me whatever was wrong wasn't going to be helped much by a digital voice coming out of a two-inch speaker. She may as well have said no.. her wording was something along the lines of 'if you want to.' I asked again a couple minutes later - this time she said yeah. After a brief fight via cell with my mom about whether or not I would go, I made the thirty minute drive to her house, and stayed for about one-and-a-half hours helping her calm down. She was a lot better by the time mom called and asked when I was coming home, so I think it's good I was able to help her at least a little bit.
I've finally said enough to the conditions at work and gave my boos my two week notice. One can only take so much bullshit for $5.25 an hour.
School is out in two weeks ^_^ It's about time - 14 years of school is about to come to a close (pre-K and K inclusive in case you were wondering).

My love life is of course as always non-existant, and I fear it shall be until I arrive at Mines. I wonder why I'm afrad of being single though...

Wisdom of the day - Always be prepared to parry the worst Murphy's Law can throw at you.
This comes from my animation project. I was throwing together the choreography for the final movie on the night before it was due (baka, I know). I was wondering when A:M would crash... usually it's unstable as hell. It didn't crash once... until I clicked save to save the near-finished choreography. A:M locked up, ergo I lost the choreography in its entirety. So instead of having a grandiose 30 second long film, I rendered a crap 10 second strip. Ugh.

Details from the predictably-boring prom will come later.

got slack?
Well, I finally took the dive to Linux... and I love it! I'm not sure I'll be able to stand using Windows ever again. I'm currently running Slackware 9.1, and most everything is running smooth. There is some ass-backwards thing I'll have to do to get my printer working, but that's about it... well, that and compiling the 2.6.5 kernel >.< Damn thing won't compile right. I'll get it to work eventually.

I'll update my life when I get back from work. Oh, if any mothers happen by here today (09MAY04), happy Mother's Day!

   I'm baaaa~aack!
And you thought you could get rid of me that easily. Right now my life is kind of busy (creating a short movie for 3d animation, counseling someone, attempting to maintain something of a normal social life), so I likely won't post often here.... as I haven't for such a time. I've discovered Gaia online (link will be provided later), which has proven to be a major time-suck.

I've registered to go to A-Kon 15 in Dallas, TX, June 4-6. Gimme a holler in the guestbook if you'll be there. I'll be cosplaying as Jr. (Rubido) from Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille Zur Macht. Oughta be fun ^.^

I'm still working at the bowling alley... although it's getting more and more stressful by the day. I'll spare you the details.

Bell is about to ring, so I've gotta go. I'll try to post later if anyone cares :P

*hackwheeze*
Oi. Remind me to take a dust mask next time I go to a con. Came away from ushicon with one hell of a sinus infection - quite possibly the worst one I've ever had. Luckily it's getting better.

I'm well enough though that I can go bowling this afternoon as had been planned since before the con. (for those of you in the San Antonio area, feel free to drive up to Paramount Bowl and participate in the special rock-n-glow fundraiser for the aea HS bowling teams from 5-7pm!) A couple people I met at the con have been kind enough to go bowling with me, so it should be a lot of fun! Update with scores when I return.

DeepDiscountDVD.com has finally shipped what's in stock of my order (RahXephon 5, 7, and SE 1) and removed themselves from my shitlist. I actually think I recommend them just for the prices.

Mayfield took a helluva lick last night in the Budweiser Shootout. He got loose coming out of turn 2, collected Dave Blaney while trying to catch it, then drilled the crossover gate on the backstretch. Tore the right front corner of the car apart, and the right door like a can of sardines. Congrats to Jarrett for the win.

Because of our school districts messed up calendar, I have this next week off. Sometimes being odd isn't a bad thing ^_^

   I'm baaaaa~aaackkkk!
That's right, I'm back. Here's a synopsis of the weekend...

Friday, 2004.01.30 - Arrived at the Austin Marriott at the Capitol. Drove around for twenty minutes finding a parking space, and lost all confidence in the driver (let's just say he almost backed onto the IH-35 access road while getting the parcking stub). Proceeded to our room, then went to registration to pick up our credentials. Went to go to Koda Kumi concert, and discovered the OP ceremonies had not yet started (Koda concert was scheduled to be about an hour after the OP ceremonies ended). Attended OP ceremonies and was unimpressed. Went to Koda concert, which started about an hour and a half late. Listened to the opening act (whose name unfortunately escapes me) and was fairly impressed, considering it was her first concert ever. Koda came on stage, and I was fairly quickly disappointed. The audio system left a bit to be desired, something was up with the mixer, and she started crying about halfway through 1000 no Kotoba. My friends and I walked out of the concert, a little disappointed after the 1:30 wait. Went swimming and went to bed.

Saturday, 2004.01.31 - Woke up, ate breakfast, etc. Started to don Hiro costume, only to realize I forgot my belt at home. Went to gift shop and was burned $37 for a damned belt >_<. Went back up, got dressed, and went down to the dealers room. Bought Megatokyo GN #s 1 and 2, baka^ni shirt, 7 ramune, broken.miho poster, custom badge (you can see the picture above), and a Trunks poster and a Digimon ST for An-chan. Sttod in line for an hour to get Koda Kumi's autograph. Participated in the Cosplay event and as made fun of by the announcer. (Special thanks goes to the person who corrected him about Hiro if you're out there!) Went to the room to try to sleep. No success. Went the karaoke event and made an ass of myself to White Reflection. At least I think I did. Randomly wandered until six in the morning.

Sunday, 2004.02.01 - Woke up at 0650 because of a prank room service call. Went back to the dealers room, then to the web design panel. Left for New Braunfels at 1330.

As for the inevitable super bowl commerical question, I liked the IBM / Linux commercial and the NEXTEL commercial the best. So there.
