   Chapter 5: Kohaku

Once I caught up to Autumn in her bad mood, I asked “Are you okay?” she turned around and snapped at me, “Leave me the hell alone!” I backed off, ears dented back. I walked over to Michi, who was too hiding from Autumn. “is she nuts?” I whispered to Michi. “In a way” he responded. “She has a temper at times.” I glanced over at Autumn.
“Can’t believe cute girls have ugly tempers” I said. Michi quickly looked at me, “excuse me?” he said. I looked over at him, “I cannot believe girls have tempers” I said. “duh,” he looked down at the ground while he walked. “they all do.”

Autumn screamed over top us, “I herd that!” “yeah so what?!” I squealed. She charged at me. I thought she was only playing, so I didn’t move. But, before I knew it, her fangs were dug into my skin and blood thrashed to the ground. In both shock and pain, I struggled and fell to the ground. Once hitting the ground, Autumn let go and I sprang up to my feet.
“Little boy has a big problem” she smiled, walking away with Michi behind her with his ears flat. “damn” I said, trying to move. “she bites hard!” I looked to my new and freshly made wound. It appeared she grabbed my ribs, directly. I limped over to them. “maybe we should make her the leader” Michi joked. “uh huh” I said, taking it as an insult.
We jumped over a hill, finding old deer meat. my mouth drooled as I pounced on it, almost like it were still alive. Without thinking, I got ready to dig in. but before I slammed my fangs into its neck, a brownish tan wolf snatched it away, running fast. Without a thought in mind, I sprang to the wolf. Michi and Autumn skid across the deer-less dirt and chase after me.
“Come back here with my food, damn you!” I scream, taking chase. The wolf turned to steel a glance from me. When he turned around I saw that he was only so young. Even then, I can’t let him get away. “Get back here!” I growled, catching up.
“go away!” he pushed my away, somehow keeping the deer study. I flung back, but encountered the shove with a study beat of feet, and jumping on his back, snatching the deer. As I fell to the ground, deer safe below me, I got up and the small wolf pounced on me, but more of a playing pounce. “give me my deer back!” he said, trying to snatch it back and jumping around like a pup.
“hell no, now beat it!” I stayed overtop the deer, as if guarding its dead body. The pup jumped at my shoulder, biting it but as if playing. “give me the crappy deer!” he said, louder. “back off!” I nudged him, making him fall back. He got back up and sat down, with those puppy eyes. “please?” he whimpered. I hate those eyes. I always fell for them, but they were very useful when I was a pup.
I got off the deer, but quickly taking his leg. Michi skidded over, taking its head. Autumn came to a stop, taking two other legs. “you have this much” we threw the items at him. He smiled, and as he drools he dug in.
We took the body, ripping it to shreds. After having our weekly meal, I turned to the wolf, licking my lips. The young wolf pierced at me, “yes?” he said, with a grin. “don’t grin at me!” I snapped. He quickly replaced the grin with a sunshine smile.
“you coming?” I stood up, placing my tail straight up. He panted, smiling as if he wished too and not to be forced. He wagged his tail madly, “can I?” “if you can keep up” I smiled evilly, looking back a him.
He grunted, but not meaning to. Michi and Autumn, once they finished, trotted over to me, acting like I was the leader. Feeling like the leader, my tail flung up again, as I walked.
