   Running Amok!
Does anybody know how we got this phrase? It's freaky! Read this:
"The word amok is of Malaysian origin. Malaysia is reputed to have been home to the first opium addicts in the world. While under it's influence, the Malaysian opium addictcould loose control of the nerves and senses , often rushing forth with daggers and shouting, 'Amok, amok!' which in Malay means 'kill.' It was common for for an opiated Malaysian to kill several people while in such a state. This is why 'running amok' refers to implusive acts."
