The REAL Huncback of Notre-Dame
The Hunchback of Notre-Dame was written by Victor Hugo
The twists and turns of his story enthrall the reader so
Quasimodo, the deformed, deaf bell ringer
The only creature courageous enough to save the poor Egyptian singer
The dazzling singer and dancer wrongfully sentenced to die
La Esmeralda cannot love her savior, no matter how hard she tries
The true villain of the book is Claude Frollo, the cowardly priest
His jealous fit of rage is why La Esmeralda’s life ceased
This tragedy takes place in Paris, France
Did these characters meet their ends in such proximity by fate or by chance?
Quasimodo swings down and brings the condemned to Notre-Dame
Bellowing “Sanctuary!” he holds hers shocked frame in his palms
The vagabonds attack the church before the break of day
Their purpose being to take La Esmeralda safely away
La Esmeralda is “saved” instead by the one she thought hated her, the priest
But unless she agreed to love him, that would be where his kindness ceased
The recluse that hates her holds La Esmeralda in her grasp
Hoping she shall be hanged at long last
The irony never ends, for Esmeralda has now found her mother
The recluse finally realizes that La Esmeralda is her long lost daughter
Here the tragedy begins as the recluse dies, thrown to the ground
Her daughter soon follows, “Phoebus, my beloved” being her final sound
Quasimodo kills the priest for his deeds after watching the one he loved and saved die
With her body he forever lays, the only tear he ever shed twinkling in his eye
thats a quick summary poem thingie of wat REALLY happened in the hunchback of notre-dame, srry i didn't get on yesterday, i had to MAKE this poem along with other stuff about the book for class...
