Chapter 13
Without a word, he flipped through the book instantly. Within two seconds he finished the 2000 page book, and nodded. He now knew why Brea was sick. “She is starved.”
“What do you mean; we have already tried giving her blood? And how did you know that one of the symptoms was that she looked starved? We didn’t mention that.” Tyrrea asked, frowning.
“Because of this book. Have you tried giving her human’s blood? According to this book, they can only survive off of human’s blood, which in essence explains it; she cannot drink human’s blood in this part of the world. There aren’t any here.”
All of the members in the room gaped, the librarian included, who had overcome her fear with curiosity.
“Oh, and she is most likely worse now, because other creature’s blood only starves them more. The cure for her is simple. She shall probably be better by morning. But that means that, sadly, I shall not be around to see it. I am off to enjoy my last meal before midnight, when…goodbye.”
Timerian started to walk out of the room, but the king stopped him.
“Thank you, we will get her that right away, but please stay and come with us to visit her, and then we shall give you your favorite meal for…thank you, and please do come.” He said as he snapped his fingers and an elf disappeared.
Timerian kneeled. “Even on my last day of living, I could never disobey you, your majesty.”
“Thank you; then let us go.” They walked down the stone taverns, and by the time they reached the infirmary, Brea seemed to be waking. There were four glasses of thick, rich blood sitting on the night stand, and she seemed to be sniffing the air.
All of the sudden her eyes popped open and she jumped out of bed. “What happened?”
“Why didn’t you tell me that you can only drink human’s blood?” Tyrrea said, with a mother’s worry in her voice.
“Vampires do not give their secrets. Now, who do I have to thank for figuring it out?” Timerian then stepped forth, and kneeled before her. “I am the one.”
“Thank you. Now, can I please leave this infirmary, because I really don’t like the smell?” They all gaped at her. How could she think so lightly of what Timerian had done? Then it hit them like a boulder…she didn’t know about the book.
“Brea, we have to tell you something. Timerian is about to die because he read the book that has all of your secrets in it. The first vampire will come back at midnight and…” Brea put her hand up, and sat silent for a while, then all of the sudden, she was gone…

The woods are dark and gloomy. The shadows seem to have wills of their own. Each and every form on this waste land used to live, but then he came. The first vampire, Nedral, came. This wasted cemetery, filled with the stench of thousand year old carcasses, bared the misfortune of being the first village Nedral spotted when he first left the Land of the Elite. He came in, a ravenous skeleton at the verge of death, and ripped every single human’s throat out with no remorse. He knew that is was either kill or die, and it was then that vampires found they could only drink human blood, because he tried the livestock, and his thirst only grew. After this enlightenment, he dropped his armor, and headed for the next village. I walk in this desolate wasteland for that armor. I stand still, and listen, trying to figure out where the wind clings with metal, to find the armor. I hear the ringing, and at that moment, I SEE it happen, my vampire ancestor savagely murdering these people like livestock; adults and children. I felt his hunger, and instantly understood. I almost passed out with the growling pain that threatened to consume me. The dead flesh on one side of my body seemed to be TOUCHING the flesh on the other side. My muscle mass had all disintegrated, and I, an immortal, was on the verge of death. The pain when an immortal dies of cause that a mortal would die from, are the most agonizing pains, imaginable or unimaginable. I realize with horror that I would have done the exact same thing. Nedral might not have been as bad of a soul as I had thought, but now I had to save my savior, and convince him that he would not harm us by knowing the secrets. This gives me hope, even as I walk through that terror stricken village falling at his hand. All of the sudden I snap back. It is almost midnight; I must hurry. I sprint toward that clanging sound, now ringing in my ears for some reason, and I find his blood stained, rusted metal that would have been called armor. Lying next to it is what I have been searching for; a sword. Its hilt is of blue dragon scales, and the blade gleams silver and blue, but also glows red from all of the devastation it has seen. I grab it, suddenly realizing something. My attire seems to all be matching. What can that mean? It is all blue. It must be a coincidence. It must. I slide it into its diamond sheath, and go back. There is no more time for delay, for midnight will strike within the minute.
hey, srry its late...i HAD to put one up today, but i got home late once again so... ya, thats hy its late...
