OB Misconceptions
This past week, I have been going through a weird dilemma concerning writing.
As you may know, I love to write, and sparring and RPing on OB are two of my favorite things to do. However, I have only just begun to truly appreciate how difficult it is to write a story that the average person (otaku or no) can understand and enjoy. This past week, we have begun writing short storis in my English class, and I am finding it difficult to break my OB "fantasy style" and working on stories that hit a little closer to reality. Furthemore, we are learning more about description and the meaning behind it, and most of my OB posts are just advancements in the story and details, in my opinion. There is really no hidden meaning or story behind what I write here, just details.
This has become real strange for me, and although I have no intention of leaving OB, I have to say that excessive RPs created quite a misconception of the idea of "writing" for me. If I want to do better in English, and pursue my dream of becoming a writer, something has to be done.
Hopefully I'll be able to increase my marks in English in the future, but until then, I have some work to do on separating my OB writing and regular writing. How does everyone else feel about this? Does anyone have problems keeping their "OB side" in check at times?
Hopefully I will be able to set myself straight soon, and until then, I always have other things to keep me occupied, like my birthday next week.
