Some Way, Somehow, Somewhere....
Today's OCRemix: "Reviving Zue" Terranigma Remix by Ziwtra. Not one easily persuaded except by word of mouth and/or rave reviews, I found that this OCRemix was enough of a comfortable push in the right direction towards getting me to try playing Terranigma sometime. A game (supposedly) heavily based on "Illusion of Gaia" for the SNES, features a (quite awesome) action-oriented battle engine which, I think, is greatly improved from IoG (if a little easy). The mix itself, however, features an interesting hip-hop style at the beginning with hi-treble snares, a scratching pattern which reminds me of "Spin the disc" by good-cool(DDR) which I am listening to at this very moment. Then it gets into what I like to call the "hybrid instruments" section, because the melody is played by an instrument which I cannot really identify as being a string instrument or some kind of technologically-altered flute, but rather a combination of the two. Then, the harmony is played by what sounds like a mix of electric guitar grind and a tenor saxophone. Around the middle leading to the end, we have our usual techno-inspired beats peppered throughout the piece, and then getting back into the hybrids for the end. Very cool, very enjoyable, download if you feel like one of these unusual genre breaking trips with all of the hybrid-instrumented glory thrown in for free.
Well, first off, I'd like to say I'm sorry for having acted really moronic the other day. I know it's not cool to impose my work on you guys, but I guess I have been pressured by school life as of late, and I was hoping to put Senpai up by the end of the previous summer. It didn't work out that way, so when I had a chance, I put it up. Personally, I still think it is a little rough around the edges, but I'm hoping most of the learning and instruction will take place during the actual RPG rather than having to deal with all the aggravations in the signup sheets. That's why I made them so overly-simplistic, because they're not what I'm looking for in character. Everything I need to see will come out in the RPG when it starts. If I'm unhappy with the direction of the RPG...well, that's up to the participants to decide what to do, and my only direction comes when I decide which movie they will be making.
In any case, I hope that those of you who haven't already take a look at it (see previous post links). If you even have something to suggest, aesthetically (see HTML) or otherwise, fire away. That would help out a lot, too.
As for the rest of my week, I went to Curling practice a grand total of three times (it's a flexible schedule, it rules, and if you want to know what curling is, ask Arcadia) and went to see "The Glass Menagerie" being put on by our Player's Club at our new black box theater put up this year. The theater itself sucks, because the catwalking system is "not up to building code" and so our school now has to spend another few grand for a new team to reinstall the catwalks because our previous builders were such fucking morons that they couldn't do the job right the first time even though we gave them twice as much time to do it as we were supposed to.
Anyway, most of my weekend time was spent either trying to find a store with Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne available for rent, or talking endlessly about cool stuff with Godel for infinitely cool amounts of time. If you cannot comprehend the coolness, get MSN sometime and join us in a "group orgy" of sorts where the conversation will revolve around everything from the anime/game fad of the week to music and argue endlessly about whose pants are the coolest until we all drop out from exhaustion or our parents start yelling. Join the fun.
In the meantime, I've been playing DDR again since I've modified my pad with hardwood. I can finally play in my room despite the carpet. I've started having fun with DDR MAX again, but, try as I might, I still can't quite beat "TRIP MACHINE CLIMAX" on Heavy (9-footer).
Oh, and don't even ask me about "Rythm and Police (K.O.G. G3 Mix)", because I'm not even touching that until I can at least finish "Electro Tuned (The SubS Mix)" (will ask Syk3 about that later.
Meanwhile, I'm still cooking up stories and delusions of grandeur with Solo, who is now to be known as my soon-to-be "partner in crime" as we concoct plans to finish a long-neglected RPG, and I will, hopefully, be able to balance Christmas exams in with all this. (Remember, if I get an 85%, I get a tie, w00t)
It's 11/28 00:55.
And I need to rest before I pass out at the PC. |
