Soft Cookies
Man, what a week.
You'll forgive me if it sounds like I'm grossly overracting to really nothing at all, but this week seemed to be a little more taxing on me than in the past.
We start the journey with French class, where I have a five-minute French oral to give on Thursday, and, consequently, about a hundred pages of a book to read for Tuesday and notes to write immediately afterwards. There was also quite a bit of Chem to do, and I had a rather difficult Math test to do as well, which, sadly, did not go so well for the reasons stated above.
I'm a little worried that I'm starting to sink a little in my work effort lately. It's just that I tend to get a little afraid of the challeneges ahead and start wavering in my resolve to get everything done. It just seems to me that I worked hard at getting all of my work done for my 85% last term that I'm starting to bend under my own expectations.
Then again, I could be just getting lazy and need someone out there in internet land to bitchslap me back to consciousness so I can get my work done like always.
Anyway, suffice to say, I am glad it's the weekend, and I celebrated by cracking open a bottle of a rare Portuguese soft drink, "Kima De Maracuja" and a few soft fruit cookies to enjoy myself with. I shot some of my movie Saturday, and my Sunday feels like it'll be restful so far.
Furthermore, this is the first time I'm listening to Rammstein's newest CD "Reise, Reise". I got the CD as a Christmas present from a cousin, and I didn't listen to it right off because I haven't been into metal for a while and thought Rammstein was always too overplayed and I wouldn't like it. However, surprises of surprises, it is actually a pretty good CD and I am pausing between lines of this post to bang my head to some of the better beats in the songs.
On that note, Shinmaru did his own "Nifty Fifty" version of the lyric game (c) Arcadia. On that note, I thought I'd do my own version, only with my own twist.
1: In the name of,
and by the power of,
the Holy Spirit.
May we invoke your intercession for
the Children of
England
2: It's good to know
tomorrow you are coming home.
I won't be so alone.
I feel heaven in you.
3: Don't be afraid,
I want to be your friend
I want you to ride in my back and say:
"This is my real life."
4: Part of me wont agree,
cause I don't know if it's for sure.
Suddenly, suddenly,
I don't feel so insecure.
5: Feel heavy,
Once Felt it... Hard
Question an answer
For a thousand days.
Give birth to the Earth
Then let it drift away.
6: Please, could you stay a while
and share my greif?
It's such a lovely day
to have to always feel this way.
7: Tiny Tiny, a little faith
I bet he played a little, bend the norm.
Sit still, stand up straight.
You know, you've got to concentrate.
8: You tell me I can't slow down,
you tell me where I've got to be.
I spin into the the darkness,
and I swear I can't see a thing in front of me.
9: I can't invest my time
I've tried it all and I'm tired of trying
You think you've got it all figured out
And everything you think it's about
When you found yourself finally released
You hit the ground and kept running east
And now it's all catching up to you
As these things usually do
10: Pero es mejor que matar
Buscarte en el buró
Brincar en el colchón y
hacerte una canción
Es un ambiente de revista
un sentimiento de novela
Es amor
The catch with these songs? None of them are made by U.S. bands. Go sift through your foreign albums in search of these lyrics, and I trust you not to use the power of the internet for these answers.
(if you can get #10, I will react something like panel 3 here (replace "Greg Dean" with "the person who got #10"))
I also look forward to updating Absolute tomorrow, so that all it's readers (read: Alan) can enjoy the end of "Room 2"
Be warned, it does get rather strange. |
