Can someone please turn off the world? It's making me dizzy...
Whew, back from one week of vacation. No internet or computers or nada. I didn't even have a watch so I neer actually knew what day, time, or date it was. For the most part, I was telling time by the sun and whatnot.
For those of you hungry for details, it was a school-organized trip to the Carribean, where we sailed on a tall ship around Saint Martin island and the surrounding islands:
Saint Martin - Saba - Saint Eustatius (Statia) - Saint Kitts - Nevis - Saint Barthelemy (St. Barts)
In that order.
It was quite an experience, seasickness, lack of sleep at night (spent much free time sleeping, myself) and, to a certain extent, malnutrition (I now know better than to drink a Coke at breakfast, no matter how thirsty I am.).
Well, there were cool moments too. I probably killed off more edible sea life than ever before, and when not sleeping, I would freak my travelling comrades out by discussing Japanese TV and movies, as well as indie rock bands no one has ever heard of before.
Also, my own acapella of "Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots" was a favourite among the group. I had fun too, even if I'm not exactly the greatest singing voice.
My only eternal regret was not having brought at least one CD of mine. The boat had a CD player, and even though I had lent Plastilina Mosh's "Hola Chicuelos" to someone, I would have loved to hear the groups reaction to Ash's "1977" or get some strange looks while listening to Low's "The Great Destroyer".
Anyway, I am very happy to be back, even though the trip had its fun moments. I missed being able to talk to you wonderful people around the world. En plus, I have some great plans to unleash upon my lovely artist...
if only she would get on MSN.
Finally, I see some of the very twisted and perverse things people are doing to their MyOs lately, and I'm thinking that I'll try jumping on the wagon sometime and doing a nice big photo for this site.
Something Plastilina Mosh related.
That's all the mind candy you get now, chicuelos.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go bitch and moan over a sunburn. |
