*bang bang bang bang*....
Well, t'was an awesome start-of-weekend, but the fact that it is the weekend really doesn't matter because I'm still on break. Hell, I woke up this morning and thought it was Monday, for god's sake.
So, this past Thursday, my dad and I went to the video store and rented Snatch and Finding Nemo (boy, with that combination, I bet we freaked out the guy at the video place.) Finding Nemo was fun, granted (now I can finally talk about that movie with my friends in Drama,) but Snatch is definitely the best movie I have ever seen.
Snatch is a British comedy about a bunch of jewel thieves, some ruthless, some horribly incompetent. It's considered to be a comedy, but it is very vulgar and gritty, and a lot of people get shot up. Despite that, there are a few funny moments...which I will not give away because you should see this movie for yourselves, it rules.
I also found some music from the movie, and some of it is pretty good, including "Are you There", and "Diamond" by Klint, "Angel" by Massive Attack, and "F**kin' in the Bushes" by Oasis. "Diamond" is the paragon of the jewel theives' theme song, as it is slow and cool, but gets a bit more loose and wild later on. "Are you There" and "Angel" are both very slow and more tense, so they would arise more in the serious scenarios. Finally, "F**kin' in the Bushes" is a fight song, first and foremost. Heavy drums at the beginning, with a guy yelling at the massive crowd below, eventually coming to a fever pitch with a chorus and guitar around the middle. The end, however, is not very cool, as it is just some creepy old lady talking, go figure.
Well, I am no movie connisseur, but if you like thieves' comedy, and you can stomach R rated material, then go rent this movie.
...I guess that's it for tonight. Maybe now I'll slip downstairs and fix myself some instant noodles...
