*yawn* School...

Last few weeks of the first semester. A lot going on right now at school. Not much time for me to have any form of social life these days, unless essay writing counts as a social life. Guess what I have in about a week? Midterms! >_< But I'm too lazy to study for them. XD

I think I'm going to end up spending my entire weekend writing that essay on embryonic stem cells. *sigh* Thank god I already finished that essay on global warming (if I hear "teragrams of carbon dioxide equivalent" one more time... +_+), or my work load would have been a lot heavier!

I'm also trying to do some scheduling for my classes next year. I'm trying to figure out whether I can take AP biology, science research (another AP class), and honors physics all in the same year. It might be sorta tought taking 3 honors/AP science classes at once, but I wanna try.

Next semester I'm signed up to take web design class and health. I'm really looking foward to the web design class, especially since I get to learn how to use macromedia dreamweaver (a web design program). -^^-

I'm not quite looking foward to health though. It's one of those mandatory classes. Probably doomed to be boring. One somewhat entertaining things about it is that there's one unit where they give you a baby doll that randomly cries. You have to insert little computer chips into it representing "feed" "burp" "diaper change" etc. And you have to carry it around everywhere wit you. The people who took health this past semester are doing that. I can just imagine forgetting the doll in my locker, and having the health teacher accuse me of child abandonment. XD

Well, now you've listened to my rambling for the day. May the gods of sporks and insanity be with you always. (I remember someone asked me if I got that line from the Star Wars movies, and the answer is yes I did)

I’m so sorry I didn’t get to visit your sites this weekend. Once again, I was separated from my beloved internet (Xanth is sorta addicted to the internet ^^”), so that we could go visit friends of the family.

Not much happened this weekend. Like I said, we went to go see friends of the family. Well, we got to go bowling. That was sorta fun. My aim sucks though, and I kept rolling my ball into the gutters. It was sorta annoying. >_< The fun part was changing all the player names around with the score machine. So everyone kept giving everyone else stupid names. By the end of the game, I had become “demented dog”, courtesy of my brother. ^^”

Well, today is a half day so I don’t have to go in before school for chorus rehearsal (I’m not sure how that works out, but it does). So I have about 40 minutes to kill before school starts, therefore I’m using this time to do another lame post. *sigh* My comments have been going down lately. This is probably a sign that I should become a more entertaining speaker, visit friends sites more often, meet more people, or finally get a life. I have to say though, that the last option is never going to happen. XD

6:49am. *yawn* Tired... I have to leave for school at 7:15... *yawns again* Today's the day of that big chemistry test. Since I actually studied a little this time a very rare occasion), I think I'll do relatively well. I'm feeling a little nervous about it though. So many tests these days...

I had 3 tests yesterday: Math, English, and Spanish. Math was easy, and I think I did about average on the Spanish. I think I might've flunked that english test though. We had to write an essay on Catcher In The Rye. Meh. I hate that book. The essay topic was exactly this:
Write about Holden's journey of self-discovery and the obstacles he faced
I'm sorry, but that more or less covers the entire plot, and I can't write the entire book in half an hour. >_< Anyways, I made a pathetic attempt at some sort of essay, mostly rambling about how Holden is "trying to protect his innocence", which is probably what the teacher is looking for. Personally, I think Holden's an idiot, and it's very hard for me to write an organized essay about someone I think is an idiot. Sorry, I'm feeling a little frustrated right now.

I spent most of yesterday doing nothing much. I found the official website for this music artist I like named Kyle Ward. -^^- That made me happy. I want to buy his albums Urban Comatose and Synthsations. But my iTunes account is currently broke. I got so much cash for XMas, yet everything I want to buy is online. It's sorta funny, when you look at it that way. Anyways, they have an online jukebox of his music on the site. To go to this jukebox click here. I hope that link works, it seemed like they were having some server problems yesterday, but maybe it's good today.

School... I have two tests today, neither of which I studied for. *sigh* I wish it were still holiday break. T-T Meh...

I spent most of yesterday working for this pin design for a science competition called WESEF. Apparently, it's being held in NYC this year, or maybe it's always held there. I'm not sure. Anyways, this is the pin I designed. If it wins,it's going to be handed out to people who win international recognition in the contest. You have to include the words "WESEF" "2007" and "New York" on the pin, which can be a maximum of 1.25 inches in diameter. I think the one of the prizes for winning the science competition (not the pin competition)is that you go on an expense-paid vacation to NYC.

Since I don't think I was very clear in my explanation I better say that there are 2 competitions. One is the science competition. The other is to design a pin that will be handed out either to the winners or the participants. What I entered is the pin contest, not the science contest. I don't think this pin will win (I'm not great with computer art), but I thought it came out sorta cool looking.

I just discovered this program the other day. It's called "Microsoft Digital Image Pro", and apparently it came free with my computer... and all the while I was struggling with Microsoft Paint (pixel by pixel torture) I had htis program and never even knew! XD I found b/c I was cleaning out my computer of spare files. I think this program is supposed to be a Microsoft attempt at something like photoshop. I'm not sure though. As far as I'm concerned, anything that's even a tiny bit more advanced than Microsoft Paint is good. Yeah, I really hate Paint. You have to do everything pixel by pixel, which makes it extremely annoying to work with jpeg images, because there are so many dots which are just slightly different colors.

Anyways, I gotta leave for school now. Bye.

Link:
Yeah, it's a big pic, and doesn't really fit here (I uploaded the original version, not the one I scaled down to 1.25" x 1.25")

Hello

Well, I don't know who will read this since it's past 3:30, but I'll give it a shot.

I just got back from my grandparents a few minutes ago. It feels nice to finally be out of the car. *sigh* =____= I hate being cramped in the car for long periods of time! >_<

On the first day at my grandparents, we went window shopping at the mall. It was sorta nice, but I didn't find anything I really felt like buying. One thing that I thought was funny at the mall though. I stopped at this store called Teavana, looking for free samples of tea since they usually serve some (I'm a little bit of a free loader ^^") but unfortunately they were out this time. So I decided to poke around the store a little. I saw this box labeled "Perfect Tea Maker", so I asked one of the store guys what it does.

Store guy: Well, you put hot water and tea leaves in this machine. You let it steep for a while, and then press this button, and it pours out perfect tea! -^^- I sell more of this machine than anything else in the store. *gives a free demo using water* Isn't it great?
Me: *thinking* A machine that does nothing except pour the drink is selling better than anything else in the store? I mean, it doesn't even heat the water or stir the tea or something. Besides, tea isn't even hard to make. The only useful thing in this is the wire mesh that strains the leaves, which I can buy for about $1, and this machine costs $20. Wow... people are truly suckers.

After that, it was more or less a little family reunion. Not much to say about that. It was nice to see my family, but we mostly just sat around and talked.

The highlight of the second day was probably going to the Chinese grocery store. Usually, it's not much of a whoop going out to buy food, but this place near my grandmother's house was HUGE! Well, we bought a bunch of stuff for our New Year's dinner that we don't know the name for (written in chinese) but looked fairly appetizing. Something I thought was funny though was that among all the Chinese food, there was a little aisle labeled "American Food". I was sorta curious what a foreigners idea of typical American food would be, so I walked into the aisle. I was sorta impressed. It was like a Stop n Shop compressed into a single aisle. All the major brands and products were in there. I was like "Wow..." ^^" They were definitely right on target.

Not much more to my visit that would make good conversation. I sat around the house, read, watched TV, played video games, nothing much. So, therefore I'll end my rambling now, and hope that people will read my post.

~xanth~

PS: Happy New Years! I plan on finishing that card sometime today.

stuff

Let me think... what did I do yesterday? I spent the first half of my day doing nothing much. I worked on my Need For Speed game account, since I found out the hard way that it doesn't autosave (I think this is one of the only games I have that doesn't autosave)

Xanth: *turns off the PS2 to take a break*
~After Break~
Xanth: *turns the PS2 back on* ...hey! Where's my file! I spent all of yesterday working on that!!! O_O

Yes, the Need For Speed game that I game my little bro for XMas has become my new favorite PS2 game. At the moment. Once my bro started playing it, I decided to try it too, and I really loved it. He was right, it is a really fun game! -^^- Eventually, I developed a little red circle on my thumb tip from pressing the (X) button too hard for too long. ^^" It's the price of obsessive video gaming. XD I spent the rest of that first half of the day watching Naruto on YouTube.

For the second half of the day, I had my friend Serenity over. She used to have a myO account (venomous kitsune), at once all my offline friends had myO accounts (they're what got me started), but like all my other friends, she was stolen by the evil MySpace. Wow, that brings back some memories. We all started on here several years ago. I stopped my blog for a while, and then came back, but realized that my old site (Xanth591) had crashed, so I started up a this new account (Xanth Reborn). I sorta miss those days when we were all on the same blog site... *sigh* Oh yeah, due to this trip down memory lane I decided to wander over to some of my friends old sites (they don't update anymore, but the sites are still there). I noticed that several of my friends knew Darke Angel. And this was several years ago! Wow Darke, you've been on myO for a really long time. Actually, thinking back, I think that's how I found you to begin with, browsing through Ambi-chan's (stolen by Gaia online) old friends list.

Wait, wait, I was supposed to be talking about what I did with the second half of my day. How do I always get so off topic? Anyways, the second half of my day was spent with Serenity. Unfortunately, we were stuck in the house since our means of transportation (car) had been stolen (meaning someone else was using it XD). Therefore, we didn't have much to do. We played Need For Speed for a while, but we eventually moved to the internet. She got me re-addicted to Miniclip The games there are so mindless, yet so fun. As in, I can feel my brain cells dying but I don't care because I'm having fun! XD She showd me the game Wheels of Salvation. This is probably the most mindless game of all, yet its strangely addicting. I showed Serenity the game Slacking and got her readdicted to the game Black Knight. If you like mindlessly addicting games that kill your brain cells, these are some good ones to try. XD

Today I plan to draw a New Years Card for you ppl, but other than that, I think I'll stay in pajamas for the rest of the day and do nothing. Also, we're leaving for my grandparents tomorrow morning to celebrate new years.

This post and my rambling is getting pretty long now... I wonder why people read my posts. I don't think I'm a very entertaining speaker, and I never have anything important to say...I'd probably get bored if I had to listen to my own rambling for so long. ^^" Anyways, I'm off to play brain-cell-killing games.

Hello again peoples

Well, I don't really have anything to report today. Yesterday was one of those lazy days where you just hang around the house doing nothing much.

The little bits of fluff I have to report

I've spent a fair amount of today and yesterday playing video games with my bro. For XMas I bought him one of the Need for Speed racing games. We've spent our prize money from the various races buying parts and stuff to make our crappy cars ultra-cool! -^^-

I also saw episode 101 of Naruto (yes, I'm finally in the triple digits). It was hilarious. I laughed so hard! Basically Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura decide they're going to find out what is under Kakashi's mask. So they go through all these elaborate schemes to find out. Of course, none of them work. In the end, they flat out ask him.
Kakashi: You really want to know?
Group: *nods and stares intently*
Kakashi: Well, I guess I could tell you. Under this mask is...
Group: *stares even more intently*
~building drama building drama~
Kakashi: *takes off mask to reveal* ...Another mask!!!! -^^-
Group: *anime fall*

XMas

Hello peoples!!! Merry belated Xmas!!!! -^^-

For Xmas this year I got...

  • Clothes
  • A cool Atari video game machine. It has 10 games on it.
  • The DVD for the movie of the broadway musical RENT
  • Chocolate
  • A Barnes & Nobles gift certificate (and several for Mc Donalds, although I'm not sure why they gave me that since I rarely eat there)
  • But most of my presents were the most original gift of all-- cash

Well, I'm enjoying my XMas presents right now, and my cash. I think my favorite gift was the little Atari machine my little bro gave me, alhtough I don't particular mind the money either.

I'm in a much better mood today than last time I posted since I actually got some sleep in the past few days. *yawn* -^^- In other news, I just changed my theme-- again. I think I must have some new type of rare disease-- Obsessively Changes MyO Theme Syndrome. I can't seem to go more than a few weeks before changing my theme again. ^^" Anyways, my new theme is Yukirin Winter. Yukirin is my favorite manga-style artist, and I have a bunch of his pics saved on my comp. I think I really like this new background. I came across it this morning while I was raiding the internet for Yukirin pics. -^^- AZ, you should recognize the girl in the new post background.

So... MERRY BELATED CHIRSTMAS PEOPLES!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to attempt to create a belated Christmas card at some point in the next few days. When it's done, I'll post it up here.

Hello

*takes a deep breath* IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, okay, I'm good now. I just needed to get that outta my system. So, you're probably wondering what's been going on in the world of Xanth since I last posted a few days ago.

  • Well, I finished that huge article summary for science research. I'm very proud of it too, after staying up till midnight working on it, I think it came out pretty well. So I plan on putting it up online to see what you guys have to say about what I wrote. Maybe not right now though, I'm having trouble uploading my files onto my Box.net account. >_<
  • Since I've been staying up lately, I've been sorta outta it during the day time. This probably contributed to why I lost my graphing calculator and favorite thermos when I went to school the other day. T-T And the school's all locked up now, so I can't look for them! D*** it! That graphing calculator wasn't cheap either! Sorry, forgive me. I don't normally swear. But I'm a little upste about it right now. +_+
  • I signed up to take web design in the second semester. I bought a "Dreamweaver MX 2004 for Dummies" book, since we're going to be using Dreamweaver in the course.
  • Christmas is on monday. In all honesty, I'm not sure how I feel: whether I feel happy or sad. In the past I always loved Christmas. But I dunno... It doesn't feel like Christmas this year.
  • The other night, I dreamed that it was Christmas. In all the surrounding houses, everyone was celebrating and having a good time. But my house was dark, empty and barren. I was all alone. I sat in the corner of the house and hugged my knees. I felt so sad, I wanted to cry. It was a really a nightmare.
  • When I woke up, I felt so scared that my dream could become a reality. I don't know why I'm feeling depressive (maybe its PMS), but I seem to be. I wonder if this seems weird, since I usually try to act all happy when I'm around people. But I dont know... I don't feel like it today. Maybe it's just a dream and I shouldn't let myself be bothered by it. But, it does bother me. It bothers me a lot.
  • Somehow this year... no one I know seems to be happy its Christmas. Maybe it's just my perception of things, but I'm not sure. Maybe if no one else seems happy, I can't be either. Maybe other people's sadness seems to rub off on me. Once again. I don't know. Maybe this is all a symptom of stressing over all the essays I've had to write recently (I've really been in deadline hell) and not getting to sleep until like midnight. Maybe I'm just overreacting over everything.
  • Wow. It's 11:29 and I got on at like 10:40. We're going to my grandmother's soon. I don't know how soon. I hope I'll have some time to comment on people's site, or at least finish this post. *sigh* I never seem to have quite enough time for anything anymore.
