Grades

How do put this? I'm an incredibly vain person when it comes to my grades. I'm also very greedy. I aspire to be "the best". I have yet to attain that status, and probably never will (I'm not that smart), but I do become insanely happy when I get good grades.
I felt like this years midterm grades were really good (except for science research which I barely passed), and it made me happy because I studied so hard for them! >_<
I also got my grade back on that research paper for US history on the Utopian Socialists. Apparently my US teacher was really impressed with it, and it made me happy because I put so much time and effort into that project!
So now, after a few weeks of hell, I can finally relax and reap the benefits... Suddenly, I feel so lazy... XD

Other Stuff

I finally got to visit a few of you the other day! It's been so long! But I'm glad the people I visited are mostly doing well, although AZ, I'm so sorry to hear that you're feeling sick! T-T Everyone seems to be coming down sick! Am I the only person who hasn't caught anything yet... Wait... If I say that then... <_<>_> Something might infect me just out of spite. ^^"
I started watching a new anime: Death Note. It's a favorite of several of my offline friends, and I forgot I promised them I'd watch it. I didn't think I'd enjoy it so much, but I've become addicted... What's annoying me though is that my brother, who's read the manga keeps dropping spoilers, such as pointing to a character and screen and saying "That person's going to die ya know" while I'm episode 3! It's the worst type of spoiler! I don't want to know that the character is going to die, especially while I'm still in the beginning! XD
We're going to visit my grandmother today and over the weekend, so I won't be online. It's her birthday and we completely forgot, so we're rushing around in the last minute now. XD

That's the school bell! My lovely free period is over! Later!

Midterms are FINALLY over!!!

Midterms Over

Yup. My midterms are over, and I finally have a small amount of time for myself. *sigh* I can finally relax... =________= I want to visit MyO this afternoon if I'm not too busy with homework.

Movies

So, I really didn't do much this weekend, except watch a bunch of movies:
1) Withnail and I (definitely funny movie)
2) Equillibrium (very strongly reminded me of 1984 and Fahrenheit 451)
3) I forget the title of this one... XD
4) Hotel Rwanda (very powerful and touching)
5) The outsiders (not really my thing)
6) Gone With The Wind (my millionth time seeing this movie. great movie though, even if I loathe Scarlett)

Anime Pics

I decided to make my photobucket album public, to make sharing easier. I don't have anything personal on there, so it's fine. -^^-

I love you!

midterms, grapes, anime

Midterms end tomorrow. I'll be able to visit people once midterms are over. All that's left is physics (today) and math (tomorrow). I think my midterms so far have gone okay, I've studied my ass off. Hope it continues to pay off.

I had a dream last night. I dreamed that I was eating a giant bowl of grapes in bed, and it was so tasty! Then I dreamed I woke up and went to fridge to look for grapes, and we had none. Then I woke up for real, looked in the fridge, and sure enough, no grapes. ^^" I wonder if I really did wake up before, but fell asleep again? I think this is the first time I've dreamed about eating fruit.... I crave grapes now. XD

I need a new anime to watch, but there are so many choices! Any suggestions? I generally prefer anime with a fantasy element, but it's not limited to that. The only genres I won't watch are mecha and sports. Past that, suggest whatever you want. -^^-

back from the dead

January is deadline hell at school. I have so many tests and midterms these upcoming weeks, that I had to put my personal life on hold for the time being. >_< I made a New Years Card for all of you.

About the card:
This card features a self-portrait (sorta) of my favorite original character, Xanth, the queen of sporks and insanity. It took me a few weeks worth of free periods to accomplish. I used Adobe Illustrator (at school) to trace over and re-color a sketch I did a few months ago. I'm extremely proud of it, because I SUCK at computer graphics. Other than that, the background is a tiled mosaic of maybe 18 photos of fireworks, with some semi-transparent stripes (well they're opaque behind the text). ENJOY!

Fireworks in the Card

I gotta go now! Later!

PS: I'm gonna put up a new layout this weekend

There are time when people you care about say hurtful things to you, and then you don't know if they mean it or not. What do you do? I'm not going to go into detail because it's personal, but what do I do?

Not the best of moods

Pulled an all-nighter last night to finish my bio essay on cell respiration and the Kreb cycle. I had finally found my lost English novel, when I realized that my bio textbook was no where to be found, and I had an essay to write. A complete 1-step-foward-2-steps-back. So I stayed up all night trying to find information on the internet to incorporate into my essay in lieu of a textbook. I'm feeling rather pessimistic right now because my paper probably came out shitty. I say "pessimistic" and not "pissed off" or "panicked" because there's just something about all-nighters that drains my emotional capacity. I hope I don't fall asleep on my tests (plural) today, because that would suck. A lot. Odd thing is, I don't think my body has quite realized it's missed out on sleep yet, because it's still semi-energetic and jittery. In case you haven't caught on, I really hate missing out on sleep.

Random Other News In My Life

  • I got officially inducted into the National Honors Society.

  • Going to visit my grandparents for Thanksgiving

  • Went to the Bodies exhibit on a field trip last week (that was cool)

  • One of the girls at my school got into the Siemens nationals! O_O

    • It's a really big deal, since only 6 individuals (not counting groups) make it that far!

    • I'm really happy for her, though I really don't know her. ^^"

    • Siemens Competition Region Winners

    • I can't remember our region, but check them all out. The projects are cool! ^_~

My List of Thankfuls for Thanksgiving

  1. All my friends online and off. I love you all so much, even if I never have time anymore to see you! ♥ Special thanks to 3 people:
    • My two oldest friends on MyO: Angel Zakuro and Darke Angel. I've been had some pretty good times on MyO the past few years, and I'm glad I've gotten to know you guys, because you're really awesome!

    • My only offline friend on MyO: Olette-chan (actually, I think she left MyO again, so she won't be seeing this -_-")

  2. Making it into the National Honors Society

  3. My family (I love them, even though they're definitely annoying at times)

  4. Not failing Research class (got an 85, which is pretty good considering I suck at research)

  5. Getting into AP Bio, and managing to keep a relatively good grade, despite not doing those summer essays. (87 unweighted, probably around 90 weighted)

  6. Finding my long-lost physics lab. ^^"

  7. Being in a better mood, now that I'm thinking about positive things. XD

  8. Pretty good financial status (not rich, not poor, and I like it that way)

  9. Internet cable (the root of my addiction! XD)

  10. This list could go on, so I think I'll cut it here

Warning: Don't Read Today's Post If You're Squeamish

Bodies Exhibit

So, I went to the bodies exhibit in New York City. It took our school bus SO LONG to get there! >_< Why can't we just take the train in, so we don't have to get stuck in New York City traffic? But anyways the exhibit itself was really cool, even if we were there for less than an hour. T-T I wish we could've stayed longer.

The coolest section was on the circulatory system.Basically what they did was insert silicon (and other stuff) into the blood vessels of the cadaver, and once it hardened, allow acid to corrode the organic material leaving only the silicon cast. So what you get is a perfect mold of all the arteries and veins. It's really cool! There are so many! And when they start getting small, the cast starts to look fuzzy. O_O

The fetal gallery was interesting too, although its sorta sad when you remember that something must have happened to the poor woman so that she died while she was still pregnant. T-T Still though, it was really interesting to see the fetus and embryo in all the developing stages. It's so small! They had molds of the placenta and amniotic sack too.

In general, we got to see a lot skeletons, muscles, and organs. For some reason, they seemed to use more male cadavers then female. I don't know why. Maybe men donate their bodies to science more often then women do? Although you know the bodies are real, they look sorta fake because of the plastic and silicon used to preserve them. So the surfaces of the organs look sorta shiny. XD Think of all the work that was put into cutting all these out so perfectly! O_o It must've took them months, years even, to do! I really wanted to buy an overpriced tourist souvenir from the museum gift shop *laughs XD*, but ended up leaving before that.

In short, I had a blast. It was really interesting to me, and I wish I could have stayed longer. My friends, I could tell, enjoyed it too. I'm really happy.

School

Hello peoples! Guess what? I have 3 days of class this week! We had yesterday off because it was Veterans day, and tomorrow, I'm going on a field trip! ♥ I'm so excited! We're going to see the "Bodies" exibit in New York City for AP Biology! It's going to be an all-day trip, just to spend an hour or two at the museum! ^^" But man, I'm looking foward to it! It's going to be so cool! 8D *ecstatic* Even my sporks are looking foward to it! I'll do a special post day after to tell you guys how it went.

Halloween

Well, my Halloween didn't turn out quite the way I expected. There was a last minute change in plans, and I ended up staying home and watching my younger brother, who didn't go trick-or-treating with his friend because he caught a cold. >_<

Anime

I've started watching several series: Clannad, Kanon (2006), Ranma 1/2. I'd never seen Ranma before, so I decided to try it. So far, although it's pretty plotless, it makes me laugh. ^^" Clannad and Kanon are both by the company that made Air. Kanon is partly a re-watch, because I used to watch it on YouTube, up until the user got banned. XP Clannad is rather amazing, because it's not even on DVD yet! XD The pirate industry has truly reached spectacular hights. ^^"

Posting During class?

I've got 10 minutes of class left to write a short post. I can't believe it's been nearly a month since I last posted! It doesn't feel that way. I've written a slew of unfinished posts during class, but had to actually work or go to my next class before finishing. XD I'm sorry for neglecting you guys, I feel sorta guilty... T-T So, this post is just a recap of all the nothing that's happened in the past month. ^^"

Life

  • I have a test about every week, at least! >_< Lots of essays this year too.

  • Have I mentioned? The school is FREEZING! I'm wearing 3 layers, jacket, and gloves, and I'm STILL COLD! O_0

  • Went to a farm to go apple picking! -^^- It was fun! We were complete gluttons and filled a giant sack of just apples, when we only needed about 6 or so! XD We've got more apples then we know what to do with. We made at least 4 pies since then!

  • Went to my friend's birthday party. ♥

  • Started watching the anime Clannad (2008). Amazing how quickly things get uploaded and pirated onto the internet? The series just got released, and already I've found something around 10 series listings for Clannad on Veoh, this is just one website. It's not even YouTube or Google (think how many they must have by now). If there's one industry that will never die, it's the pirate industry, for sure. XD

  • Installed firefox onto the school computer (copied off my thumb drive). *shifty eyes <_<>_>* Changing the browser actually allows me to bypass a few of the minor restrictions the school places on our internet access. Not websense though. Wouldn't it be nice if it could, though? *hates websense +_+*

  • I'm so glad they never bothered to block MyO. ♥ I love this website. It's my homepage. I've been here for 3 years or something by now. I don't plan on leaving anytime soon either! ^_~

  • Tomorrow is Halloween. Yes, I'm going trick-or-treating (how can anyone resist free candy?) I'm attempting to dress up as Osaka from Azumanga Daioh. You wouldn't know unless you were looking for it though, because I'm using my everyday clothes. I didn't really want to buy the school uniform off ebay. So I'm wearing a green shirt and a jean skirt. She wore something like this in one of the episodes. As far as personality goes, I'm very Osaka-ish. Just gotta work on the costume. ^^"

PS: I can't visit anyone today, I'm sorry. I have 2 essays to write tonight, and several tests coming up in the next few days. T-T I'll try to get to you when I can. Maybe Halloween, or the weekend.
