Well, my first day of school was yesterday. It wasn't too bad. I still feel sorta nervous bout school though. My first day was pretty boring. A lotta first day speeches.
Scedule:
Period 1: Chorus/Gym
Period 2/3 (in block A): Chemistry Honors
Period 3 (in block B): Study Hall
Period 4: Math B1
Period 5: Global History 2 (regents level)
Period 6: English (regents level)
Period 7: Lunch
Period 8/9 (block C): Spanish 3
Period 9/10 (block D): Science Research
Looking back, I think I should have tried out for English Honors. I'm stuck with the retards! T-T
My Science Research teacher is new. I liked the old one better. They changed the class to make it more like-- A class! Our old teacher let us do independent work, and stuff, experiments, and it was cool! Our new teacher plans to give us notes, homework, tests, etc. Have you guys ever read Harry Potter 5? This sorta reminds me of how they replaced the cool Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher with Professor Umbridge, who goes "so long as you know the theory we learn out of the textbook, you should be able to do the spell" instead of letting the kids actually practice doing the spells. I don't think we're going to be doing independent exeriments in class anymore. We're gonna get textbook assignments and lame experiments!!! T-T She's probably gonna give us lectures on the scientific method and stuff. Our old teacher left the school. I don't know if he quit, or if someone complained and he got fired. Our old teacher Mr.S was all like "Do what you want. I don't care if you sit there and twiddle your thumbs in my class, so long as you complete my work. If I don't get a good paper from you, I'll fail you. If you don't wanna do it, that's your choice. I'm not here to baby sit you kiddies, I'm here to teach. If you don't want to pay attention and do work, that's fine, it's up to you." Naturally, some of the lazier kids slept in his class, and probably ended up failing. My guess is that a parent complained about this (blamed their own kids laziness on a cool teacher), and he got fired. He was my favorite teacher, in my favorite class!! T-T Now we have a lame class instead of a cool one!
